AthenaOne - A complete Easy to Use Platforms for Patient Engagement and Management
Comments: My experience with AthenaHealth has been really awesome. I like all the features and functionalities that it offers. It makes my work easier, faster, and efficient. It saves me time and helps me address patient's needs in a more concise and timely manner. I loved using this product!
Pros:
What I loved about AthenaOne is it is so easy to use. It is not complicated and quite easy to find information about the patient.
Cons:
So far with my everyday use of Athena, I don't have any complaints as it makes my job a lot easier, faster, and efficient. Help me to address patient's needs in a quick and timely manner.
AthenaOne
Comments: We really like AthenaOne and are learning new things about it monthly. It is convenient and easy to use once you learn it. There are so many ways that AthenaOne makes everything easier that you almost get spoiled once you learn how to do something the easy way.
Pros:
I like that AthenaOne is easy to learn and once you can navigate the different fields, you can know everything that you need to know about our patients.
Cons:
AthenaOne has a lot of different fields and functions that are available. Learning everything there is to know and how they can help with your practice is almost a full-time job.
Great product!
Pros:
I love how easy it is to sign in and access my information.
Cons:
There's nothing in particular that I don't like, I think it's efficient.
Frustrating!!!
Comments: Everything was fine when they had their old Legacy system, but they'd rather go with a "modern" -read: all white and runs together- look instead of improving upon a schedule that already worked. Genuinely, I would NEVER recommend them to anyone, and if I were in charge of switching our practice's interface, I'd ditch Athena so fast.
Pros:
The Legacy system is the only part of this system I like and use consistently. It's all right, but they're getting rid of it instead of improving the issues we've asked to have fixed.
Cons:
Where to start? The community aspect used to communicate with other users is only helpful when Athena feels that your voice matters, and unless you're kissing their feet, they couldn't care less about your comments/concerns. They'll merge or delete complaints about their new UI and refuse to ask their users for opinions before implementing a system that doesn't work. Then there's the fact that their new system isn't even user friendly! They would rather block you from commenting and voicing concerns than accept criticism on a broken system on the community page. On top of that, they'll send you the same script that DOES NOT answer your questions/comments/concerns instead of address the problem, then tell you to send complaints to their developing team, who in turn send you ANOTHER script. And don't even get me started on how many concerns/complaints have gone unsolved in the name of "modernity," or how their 'help' section answers almost no questions posed but will send you links to useless videos and threads that didn't answer the questions there, either. Utterly embarrassing. Needless to say, you'd be better off spending money on a company that actually asks its users on their opinion before implementing a broken UI and answers you.

Outstanding Software For Any Medical Facility
Comments: I work with athenaOne every day and I can't imagine my work day without it. It is very efficient and smooth, whether I'm checking in patients, adjusting the doctor's calendar, requesting or sending documents, viewing EMRs, or sending out communication to the patients; this software really does it all! The technical support team is also excellent at response time and effectively communicating resolutions to the rare times I have issues. I highly recommend to all medical facilities.
Pros:
AthenaOne has it all. It's an all-encompassing software, from checking in guests, to viewing EMRs, faxing documents, and communicating with patients; there is nothing else like it. The support team is quick to respond when there is an issue. It makes the work day so much more time-efficient and professional.
Cons:
The updates can be a bit disruptive, but they work quickly to resolve any issues.
Athena doesnt stand behind product
Comments: Poor, we were promised that it was going to do machine learning so that it would learn our protocols and tendencies, I have seen none of this.
Pros:
Ability to fax reports directly to providers
Cons:
Minimal to no responsiveness from the company, basically plug and play, and skim percentage of your profits. Awkward interface.
Perspective from a Medical Assistant
Comments: Overall I have enjoyed my use and time with AthenaHealth. I truly appreciated the in depth knowledge the trainers provided, and the time they spent with us following training to ensure we had all of our bases covered.
Pros:
As a CCMA I am accessing the EMR before, during and often after each visit. I have done everything from prior auths, RX refills, procedure documentation, clinic check-in, injections documentation, and so much more through Athena. I find that I can easily maneuver, document, update and communicate ia Athena systems. I appreciate the adequate training we received through Athena reps, and enjoy the flow of working in the system with ease and fluidity.
Cons:
Rarely, the system will not have the correct or specific code or med I am looking for. The database is wide and as a large offering, however, on a rare occasion i have to improvise.
Standard solution for records
Pros:
Good patient portal for accessing documents and records
Cons:
There wasnt anything I disliked, it is a pretty standard records software
Excellent product for mental health management
Pros:
Its a very easy to use and intutive product. Great support available.
Cons:
Setup and configuration took a bit of time.

athenaOne Review
Comments: I love athenaOne it is very user friendly!! It meets most all specialty needs. The growth and products that are offered makes me even more excited about the product
Pros:
User friendly and all the improvements and updates Athena continues to make.
Cons:
Pharmacy prior auths - they seem to be a problem in several of our tablespaces
Easy to use communication with your providers
Comments: Overall, I use athenaOne frequently for managing my health!
Pros:
Easy to use and communicate with healthcare providers. Provides easy access to health records, test results, and messaging.
Cons:
Email notification lag. When you receive a message from your doctor, they will send an email to notify you, but the email comes hours after you've received the message.
Think of your Best Hire - that's Athena
Comments: Exceeding our expectations - consistently delivers - 100% recommend.
Pros:
Athena has a true "Skin in the game" model, their performance impacts their payment. Negligible start-up costs with great first year and on-going support as well as employees who engage with us to help us succeed and grow.
Cons:
We've had to engage with third party vendors for some services we feel Athena should be able to provide. That added cost is not optimal.
Billing is okay, AR is not
Pros:
Billing is fairly easy to work through and train on. Navigation is alright, but there could be some shortcut implemented.
Cons:
You pay for both the program AND athena employees to work your claims. They honestly don't have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage the AR.
Not a bad service for billing
Comments: It wasn't bad. Overall team help with any issues was fast.
Pros:
Our practice had fewer errors when it came to billing
Cons:
The cost was a bit pricey and some of our doctors did have a hard time learning
Rochester Primary Care Review
Comments: It has been great. Everything from the software, upgrades, and customer support has been top notch.
Pros:
The Customer Support!! It’s fantastic. The software is a very close second
Cons:
The price but it is completely justified.
Good software, bad offshore team
Pros:
The EMR itself is quite nice and very easy to use.
Cons:
Athena's offshore billing team is lackluster at best, fail to adhere to basic medical billing procedures.

Referral process internal treated as external and future orders are not configurable
My Thoughts regarding AthenaOne

For me personally, it was ease of use. Understanding how to navigate between modules.
Cons:
The one main feature that’s missing is an encounter interface.
2023
Comments: Overall great experience and excited to see what the future holds
Pros:
User friendly- and great for creating personalized templates and schedules
Cons:
Needs a training curriculum for new users- and follow up training
Amazing review
Comments: Had a great overall experience with AthenaOne.
Pros:
Everything is great on the website......
Cons:
I liked everything about the website everything was fine.
Do NOT buy if you are small practice.
Comments: The doctor enjoys their clinical charting experience, but administratively athena is terrible. It requires way too many clicks to do anything. You have to use their billing and their outsourced billers are not good. There is no critical thinking and claims issues (even simple ones) constantly end up in the practices worklist, but you're paying an arm & leg for them to do it. Customer service is not helpful. It takes multiple phone calls and messages to get a resolution. You need more administrative and billing staff to work athena than you would need for other EHR's. For reference, I have been using athena for 5 years and am still confused about most functionalities.
Pros:
The doctor likes the charting. The patient portal is ok.
Cons:
Billing, claims, reporting, schedule templating, customer service, MIP/Quality Measures
