Comments: It's really the best clinic software I've used. I've had experience with Cornerstone, ImproMed, AviMark & VCA software. It's hands down my favorite of them all.
Pros:
The ease of use and customer service are great.
Cons:
The only thing I can really think of is that there are just SO many features that we have not yet taken advantage of because we haven't had the training on it all yet.

Needs some tweaking but gets the job done!
Comments: Overall Impromed is an extremely useful tool and helps me get my job done properly, I just think there are some things that could use a little tweaking.
Pros:
I love being able to easily access my patients' medical records and the ease of overall seeing what I need to be able to see in a chronologically appropriate manner
Cons:
I'd really love to be able to have the xrays automatically attached to the medical record rather than having to attach an image or a link. I'd also like to be able to title my bloodwork, rather than clicking on all the various bloodworks run looking for a thyroid for example. I'd like to be able to title the bloodwork what exactly it was I ran and get rid of the machine names used for the title of the bloodwork. There's also a new issue I've noticed- when I hover over an appointment, it tells me the age of the animal at the time of booking the appointment, but the actual medical record has the actual age of the animal. Several times now for puppies, when I hover over the appointment in easytime, it will say "12 weeks and 3 days", but in the medical record it says "16 weeks and 5 days". It doesn't match up and I can calculate from the D.O.B. their actual age if I needed to, but I fear new users can easily get confused.

Great and very comprehensive Software
Comments: It has been may years of using it and shaping it to the flow of our practice. Its many capabilities were very useful to adjust its use to the clinic needs

It's very complete and has many capabilities
Cons:
Support is less and less as time goes by. I don't see a lot of updates being done

Customer support is great because they have to talk to me every week about an issue with this software.

Impromed ease of use
Comments: Was fairly easy to use and read the medical records
Pros:
Fairly easy to use and navigate if you can single out some tabs
Cons:
Very busy with the tabs all over the screen

I do not like this software, but cannot find a good alternative.
Cons:
There are numerous modules that do not function as promised and despite bringing this up with tech support over and over, little effort in made to improve them. We were told that inventory just didn't work when you have multiple storage locations (like ambulatory trucks), so after investing significant time switching back to central supply and giving up on tracking inventory in trucks, found that it doesn't even work well in this situation. Cannot keep up in real time. Want lists are not accurate. Virtual white board not functional. Wellness plans module is also not functional (cannot appropriately track these from a financial standpoint) so we have also had to throw in the towel on this, and not for lack of investing a signficant amount of time to try and get it working. Tech support often knows less about the software than we do, so rarely able to get timely help.

Mount Carmel Animal Hospital
Comments: I used ImproMed for many years in two separate practices. Overall, the system works well if you do not want to move to being completely paperless. It has robust reporting and works well for the administrative side of running a veterinary practice. The medical record keeping definitely has room for improvement.
Pros:
The inventory management and reporting aspects of ImproMed are quite good. As an administrator, you can easily get all the information you need to assess your practice. Appointment scheduling is quick and simple. The way the medical records are viewed is easy to navigate.
Cons:
The medical records aspect leaves a lot to be desired. If free typing, ImproMed organizes the medical records in a great way. If you are trying to truly go "paperless", however, it is difficult to navigate and inefficient. The tree set up for medical records is time consuming to go through in order to enter your records and push charges through. ImproMed is ideal for a practice that is a hybrid of paper and electronic records. It is a great system for entering notes and keeping records, but inefficient to utilize to be completely paperless.

Pros:
Integration with Covetrus orders and Antech lab.
Cons:
Difficulty scheduling ambulatory appointments on calendar with multiple patients at one appointment. It is set up for small animal hospital, not equine.

Impromed, Loved it and miss it.
Comments: Love it. We have switched to Pulse and I miss Impromed like a lost love.
Pros:
Ease of use, easy access and viewing of prescriptions in 1 location, Multiple ways to get to things.
Cons:
Inability to view patient dashboard and reminders without switching screens.
Could be better
Comments: My biggest complaint is customer service. I feel like most of my issues would be resolved if I were able to talk to someone that knew how to fix the problems. What I generally experience is having to "get the higher ups" involved at which point it takes weeks to hear back.
Pros:
There are several different ways to accomplish one task. Depending on the learning style of our team, we ca figure out the easiest way to teach someone a task.
Cons:
It is very clicky! There are several steps to accomplish one task. It would be much easier to make it more streamline.

Impromed is a simplistic and organized software for veterinary practices
Pros:
Covetrus impromed is very user friendly and more “old school” compared to other softwares I have previously worked with. Navigating through the different features is made easy by the simplistic design.
Cons:
It does seem a little outdated as the appearance is not as modern, however, it gets the job done.

Comments: It has been great, a few hicups with support when Covetrus purchased it, support was better before. Those seem to be working better lately. Frustrated whenever I have to link an IDEXX lab to the Impromed system since the wording in linking the labs in Impromed does not match the names of the labs in IDEXX so linking is a huge nightmare. The tests in Impromed are listed alphabetically instead of the test codes so finding the correct test to link takes forever when the names do not match. It truly is my greatest frustration!
Pros:
I love how Impromed is customizable! We utilize most features as recommended, but have been able to make other features work differently and better for our practice. It is easy to train others to use. The upgrades have been great and have helped us improve our record keeping processes.
Cons:
Would like some features of the Medical Records to be more customizable .

Fairly intuitive, can be complicated, generally easy to learn
Comments: Overall I've enjoyed impromed. Particularly in comparison with other software I've used. Its easy to teach/see/and do a lot of different customizable things.
Pros:
Visually very helpful and easy to see what you need to see. Easy to read medical records, see everything on invoice, easy to visualize calendar and appointments for the day.
Cons:
The inventory. It's difficult if not impossible to learn fully how to do well.
Some big changes are needed before this software can rise above the rest.
Comments: It would be impossible to do the job without it but some work flow and usability problems make me wonder if the designers of the software have ever had to use it. As a receptionist you have to do several things at once and there are too many limitations here.
Pros:
It is quite easy to learn IF you have someone to train you. It does way more than you need it to IF you have the time to seek out HOW to do things.
Cons:
A daily issue is that it only allows you to look at one screen at a time. You are constantly having to close a screen and reopen it later to complete a job. If you are in the middle of something and have to answer a call it does pop up and asks you if you want to complete what you’re doing, but not what you were doing. You have to cancel, take the call, remember which client you were working on before the phone call(s) and then you have to start over trying to complete that job. An example…1) To find out the total of an invoice and take a payment by credit card without the card present such as over the phone, you have to select conclude, close that screen, go to client details to get credit card information, close that screen and reopen conclude to finish processing that payment. 2) During creating a prescription you have to see what the last prescription was and which Dr. prescribed it, close that screen, create a new prescription and remember what the correct dosing instructions are to type them in. If you don’t remember, you have to cancel that screen and start over. Editing that prescription refills amount or dosing instructions once saved is also problematic. 3) Creating estimates - frustrating that estimates don’t show up in order of date created and you can’t sort by date created by clicking on a header. 4) When looking at Invoices completed, the software should always have the latest transaction at the top of the screen unless sorted manually otherwise.

Comments: Overall experience extremely positive, the program is easy to use and customizable to meet the needs of your clinic.

What I like most about ImproMed is the ease of use and user friendliness, hovering over any icon or using the Help index will get you where you need to go easily. Several uses within the practice and additional modules available.

Impromed Practice Management Software
Comments: We began using computers in our practice in the early 1980's. Of the ones being promoted at that time we were most impressed by the features and people behind the system called CompCare, developed by Dr. Dave Allard and Dr. Kent Kruse. Since then we have watched our practice management software evolve and grow not only with our practice but with current technology and current trends in operating a busy veterinary practice. As in our earliest days of introducing a computer as a tool for keeping track of day to day duties and tasks, even today, one of the best advantages of using ImproMed software is the excellent support that we receive from the many technicians that are available either a click or phone call away. We have become so dependent on our practice management software, having such a dedicated team to turn too when problems arise is an extremely valuable resource.
Pros:
We have been with ImproMed since it began and our computer use has evolved along with each change and enhancement with regards to both software and hardware. ImproMed is used extensively throughout our practice and is extremely helpful in tracking everything that we do from appointment scheduling, patient management and record keeping to financial management, accounting and employees.
Cons:
The medical records portion of the software has been a recent challenge to us, but one that we are currently learning and slowly becoming more familiar with. Although we have had the capability of using this feature over the years, we had opted to continue keeping hand written charts on all of our patients. Now that we are seeing the need to fully utilize this feature, the least liked thing is the extensive time required to key in all the notes. ImproMed has come so far over the years, we are longing for the day when it will be able to read our minds thus making this task much more effortless!

Comments: Enjoy this software very much. Helps our practice running smoothly.
Pros:
This platform works amazingly for our clinic. It streamlines and organizes all of our medical records for patients and keeps our practice running smoothly, even on more hectic days.
Cons:
Main gripe is the reports and especially when printing inventory counts - it does not have an option to simply list, but always includes a large barcode so it prints much more than we need.
Impromed Infinity Review
Comments: Overall, Impromed is very user friendly. There is so much you can do with it but we lack the training on how to do things
Pros:
I like that there are so many different ways to get to the same spot. If you need to get to medical records you can pull up the tabs or you can find the same info through Patient Processing.
Cons:
It would be nice to have training courses available to show easier ways to do things. The templates are aweful!! They are not user friendly so when we need to make changes, we have no choice but to call and have an Impromed rep do it for us. The wait times are very long when calling in
Veterinary office - post paper system
Pros:
I like that I can find records going back without much degradation. Forms are easily created, updated, and customized.
Cons:
Records management with transferred ownership is a nightmare. I am still trying to work with customer service over this, but I believe it to be a intrinsic issue with how this program processes security of documents. This is a serious issue that only occurs periodically, but is incredibly frustrating and embarrassing when it does occur. Makes us look like idiots.

12+ years Impromed (Infinity) Veterinary Software
Pros:
Can be tailored to Veterinary specific, either large, mixed or companion animal practice. Easy to learn and use. Can insert our own pre-written data into EMR's/SOAP that are then edited for each exam/surgery EMR. Use of Teamviewer helps with two-way communication.
Cons:
1) Spell Check is awful Does not remember the most useful of words, medical terms and even the DVM's name, although we press "add to dictionary"! The suggested words are ridiculously off. It does not even know noun plurals and verb tenses. This is the DVM's greatest complaint. Again, this is awful, and we have told Impromed Programming Managers many times. They say that they will note this for the future. 2) Used to be loooong holds on phone for Support. Now better, during COVID-19 and especially since they seem to have hired more people who work from Phoenix as well as in Oshkosh. Very often though, the 1st level support person does not know how to fix an issue, but has kept us on the line for up to 30 minutes while they try (their time limit!). They say they will pass the Case on to a Senior level Support, but it can take days before we hear from them. At least they often know how to fix it. 3) Problems 1 and 2 are enough reason for us to give an overall rating of 2. There are more issues.
Not efficient
Comments: I wasn't a fan of the software i have used other companies and they were way easier and more efficient to use than this software

I liked that it did itemize everything for the inventory manager. it made it easy for them to see how stock was .
Cons:
It was very slow. Each software update didn't really help with making it quick/ easy to use.

Once you get used to the interface, it is usable but there are lots of screens to navigate and billing is not intuitive. Many drop downs and screens to perform simple tasks

Advantage Veterinary software review
Comments: Been using Advantage since 2003 and love/recommend it. Reasonably priced initial outlay and monthly fees, although updates are rare now. Not thrilled since Covetrus took over the billing. No return envelope included, no tear off bill, now bills printed in black and white, suspect $$ issues. I pay 2 months at a time, but ALWAYS get a second bill for the month I already paid (in spite of being told that would be addressed)
Pros:
Very easy to set up and use for large or small practices. Tech support almost always available and helpful. Does everything I need for this small practice and has volumes more available for bigger businesses.
Cons:
Occasionally get a tech person who is less than ideal.
Software is not for every organization

Multiple attempts at working with the software support has proven useless. Lots of
Lip service. No real
Service.
Pros:
Very flexible with lots of modules. Once you learn it (which takes a while) it can be very useful
Cons:
Cumbersome. Many keystrokes needed to accomplish one simple task. The “help” section is outdated and not very useful when trying to customize the software. Customer support is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a good tech and sometimes you get one that will cause more harm than good. Also very poor follow up with problems

Great functionality but....
Comments: When Impromed was a stand alone company, things were great. When they were purchased by Henry Schein, they started to decline on technical support and have gone completely into the toilet ever since it became Covetrus. The front line tech support folks need a lot of help. If you are fortunate enough to catch an analyst, life is good... it's just a fight to get to them. Support needs to be more responsive when a practice is not functional because the software is not working as it is supposed to. Having to schedule a support call next week does not help keep a business open at all.
Pros:
The software is somewhat intuitive and easy to use. There are many features that we have yet to discovery or figure out how to use. There are some quirks but don't we all?
Cons:
It would be really helpful to be able to have a CLIENT record separate from their pet's records. Many communications with clients pertain to all their pets and not just one. Placing notes in the client record would make it easier than entering for each individual pet.
