### "Not able to use as promised" — 1.0/5

> **Pros**: They promised to integrate our simple manufacturing process, with our sales and accounting needs. However it was not as simple and easy as they showed us in the demos I sat through.

> **Cons**: We could get through any of the training sessions without finding something that didn’t work so we weren’t able to install their software

> Our experience with ECI Software Solutions and Spruce was extremely disappointing. Throughout implementation and training, we repeatedly encountered problems that prevented us from successfully moving forward with the software.

Even after deciding not to implement Spruce, we continued to experience billing issues, including being charged for equipment we never received.

After many years in business, I understand that not every product is a good fit. However, how a company responds when things don’t work is extremely important. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend ECI or Spruce. I strongly encourage anyone considering ECI to thoroughly evaluate the software and understand all contractual and billing commitments before signing.

> **Pros**: The product overall has a sleek look that is user friendly.
> 
> **Cons**: Customer support was quite poor.  It took over 6 months to get access to data that we were told we should have immediately.  We were able to increase the number of licenses as we grew with employees (for a higher monthly cost\!), but when we informed them that we were migrating to a new platform, we were told we could not decrease the number of licenses other than once a year at the auto contract renewal date...which is not expressly written within the contract.

> Quite poor.  We were a customer of ECI for over 20 years and while they would take our calls and increase our number of licenses whenever we needed to, they would not allow us to decrease the number of licenses when the time came that we no longer needed as many.

I also like being on the cloud as opposed to having inhouse servers.
I like how the system updates POS transactions to the accounting modules.

> **Cons**: Limited ability for a user to get software changes done in the system.  The lumber world requires software engineers to understand how the programs should work.  As a lumber and building material sales company, it is difficult to interface with the software folks.
