The best unified communications application
Comments: My experience with Jabber is excellent, no matter where I am, I always have my extension at my fingertips and so I can make or receive calls as if I were in the office. I can also listen to voicemails or access virtual meetings from the same application. This application definitely helps the mobility of people keeping them always connected.
Pros:
Cisco Jabber is an all-in-one application, it gives you the possibility of having your extension on your computer, cell phone or tablet, being able to send messages to your colleagues, share documents, screens, access voicemail or even video conferencing rooms. What more could you want?
Cons:
There is not much to mention here, with the change of look and feel that they are doing in the new version, the user experience will be similar to Webex Teams and this helps the adoption of the solution. Perhaps the only point to mention is that for some cell phones, the application makes them a little slower than normal.

Cisco Jabber has not kept up with the times
Comments: It was not the most user-friendly software to use and also not stable.
Pros:
Jabber is a secure messaging service that is used for company internal communications
Cons:
It does not integrate with the other more widely used messaging or video conferencing platforms in the market.

Alternatives Considered:
Where did Jabber go?
Comments: When we used Cisco Jabber, it satisfied our business needs with ease 7 years ago, but with licensing moving to the cloud, it makes the overall solution expansive without giving much value back
Pros:
Cisco Jabber brought great chat and video capability to the PBX platform with little difficulty to deploy it into the environment
Cons:
With everything moving to the cloud, WebEx software is taking over the software adding unnecessary bloatware into the simple environment

Decent but not the best
Comments: We used Jabber for internal collaboration (primarily for chat communication and occasional screen sharing). It does the job for the most part and is easily able to collaborate and communicate with the team members. While it does the job for the most part, we had our share of problems before moving to Teams
Pros:
The messaging piece of Jabber is simple and easy to use and seamlessly integrates with the single sign-on. The user interface is decent and the application comes with a strong feature set. File sharing, backing up of the messages, group chat, and personalized status are some of the useful features that help in day-to-day collaboration.
Cons:
The experience was not so great and it is even more evident after we started using Teams (and ultimately replaced Jabber). Occasional logging out (going offline), heavy memory consumption, and dropped messages are not uncommon. The call quality is poor and unreliable at times.

A great collaboration tool with call features similar to VoIP
Comments: Overall a good team collaboration tool for quick connect within workplace environment like traditional VoIP phones
Pros:
When we started work from home then collaboration issues started and there comes this tool into play. It really is good replacement for office VoIP phones.
Cons:
Sometimes it gets hang while being on call and then you need to restart the application.. not always but it's annoying when it happens
