Managing Energy data and use to make data driven decisions!

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Our experience has been positive - we are finding the easy of getting data out of the program and reports with ease and now not having to do double entry with invoice loading and usage. Reports are easier than in the past and not having to use third party software to crest and populate. We are still determining our full usage - the customer service has been outstanding and professional. They are extremely knowledgable of their product but very helpful and the training is outstanding and on-going!

Pros:

It was an module of our work order system and the integration was easy - almost plug and play since we already had the Global data information. A wonderful tool for managing the data of our energy as well as budget funding for the energy.

Cons:

Not sure - still working to find at all that it does - so much power and capability and a very useful tool so we are still working to figure out all it does.

Energy Manager

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Using Energy Manager helped us identify and extensive gas & water leak in 2 of our buildings. Without this program we had to use an Excel spreadsheet and there was too much room for errors.

Pros:

Easy to input the information. The reports are used to identify leaks or overuse in our buildings. Cost comparisons month-to-month is very useful.

Cons:

I believe that the way the report building features could have more presets templates, however it is fairly easy to set one up yourself.

Energy Manager

3.0 6 years ago

Comments: I am able to notify maintenance of problems with water leaks etc... This is the point in which we have found that our solar panels are not working.
This is a tool that can be used by the schools to educate students on energy and energy management.

Pros:

I believe once the product is set up the way it needs to be, I will love the reports that I have been wanting to get for years.

Cons:

The set up has been the least attractive thing about this system however, the information that will be available once established will be far greater than the old system. Because of the complexity of our invoicing with roof top solar and a solar garden we are not able to utilize the auto invoice upload each month. Even though I need to enter each account manually, it is an easy and user friendly software.

Energy Manager as a Energy Management Tool

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Having a woven connection into my EPA reporting is a significant benefit, and it is especially useful for finding the reporting items that senior management finds compelling. It was worth the increased cost of moving up from less compatible, less expensive programs. Energy Manager has a detailed set of modules that can really tune your reporting and allow you to measure what you are managing.

Pros:

Once I was able to sit down with The loaded and functional Energy Manager program, I found the interface to be very intuitional. I also found that the reporting was easy to set up and draw out the wanted information. Inputting current billing information is easy, if you have the time. I don't have the time, so having the Dude team able to pull the information from the same sources I do and populate the billing information for me is going to keep my reporting information and Energy Star stats always up to date. That's a win.

Cons:

I was able to try out the Interval Data module but it wasn't successful as an application for us as the information was about 2 days behind. having real-time information is the best way to utilize that data.

PLU - Energy Manager Review

5.0 last year

Pros:

Integration and data export went smoothly after capturing the historical data we wanted pulled from FAMIS. The cloud service and program is easy to use and allows for correction of any data entry errors with ease. I even like how you can attach the actual bills to each specific account. This is a robust program that has lots of features I am sure I don't even know about or have come across yet

Cons:

If you don't use certain reports or add them to Quick Links you may forget what report to use when you go look for it the next time. When creating a detailed import spreadsheet you have to be sure to line up the columns and rows to the tag etc., this can be challenging to remember to include all the requirements if you need to add one down the road (and don't have your initial notes from years ago)

User Friendly, Great At-A Glance Graphics

Pros:

The Energy Manger is very user friendly. It was easy to get the software started and very easy to keep up to date. The graphs are great as is the dashboard.

Cons:

At this time there are not any cons that I can think of.

Tracking Energy in Schools

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall both the content and ease of use of the software have exceeded all expectations!

Pros:

Upon receiving the software we were able to input data from utility bills over the prior 3 years and create benchmarks allowing us to take advantage of all the reports and energy trends. We were able to show the savings from upgrades for things such as LED lighting , new more efficient HVAC units, building controls and many others changes. We are now able to see the areas that need our attention based on the positive differences these changes made.

Cons:

I can thing of nothing that I am not pleased with.

My experience with Energy Manager

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Our City is using the Energy Manager to make informed decisions regarding best management practices with sustainability, building energy retrofits, and water usage monitoring and conservation. It's been a valuable tool.

Pros:

The software has an easy to use dashboard and overall interface. It's very intuitive and the reporting is very useful. The software allows employees in an organization varying levels of accessibility and user privileges. What I like most about the software is the ability to make organizational sustainability decisions based on the data and the ability for our Public Works Department to identify inefficient facilities or irrigation leaks and issues in parks. The software has many useful applications.

Cons:

Can't say there's anything I don't like about the software. Training from Dude Solutions is necessary to take full advantage of the reporting and features.

Quality Product for Tracking Energy Usage

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: The Energy Manager program is invaluable in showing trends and energy usage over many months or even years. This provides the data i need to validate my requests during budget hearings.

Pros:

The Energy Manager program provides all the data i need to keep track of energy usage for all of my buildings. The data is easily accessable and can provide a instant snapshot of how our buildings are performing.

Cons:

The only issues i have encountered with Energy Manager are with some of the reports. Sometimes i end up with way more information on a report than needed and toher times its not enough. I have to say also, that this could be totally caused by my lack of knowlege. Customer support is always spot on and I'm sure they would help me in anyway to extract the data i need.

Utility Manager provides insight

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: the ability to educate administration on the energy usage of various schools and to identify facilities to be inspected or recommended for energy improvement projects.

Pros:

ability to track and report on energy usage separate from energy cost automatic loading of utility bills from vendor web sites Reporting

Cons:

Need additional categorization of bills for comparison - for instance main building vs. modular classrooms or to compare athletic facilities only and not include the instructional portions of the property.

Pros:

Easy to use once I realized that I had to enter every thing that is a choice in a drop down menu.

Cons:

There are almost too many things to learn and I've got so many other things to do that don't require SchoolDude or Energy Manager. I'm part time so I literally don't have time to use everything the programs have to offer.

Energy Manager by Dude Solutions review

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: We can now more easily and more quickly find utility anomolies especially in water and waterwater data. When we can find and correct a problem quickly, it saves water and money.

Pros:

Always available. Can quickly evaluate data from different perspectives.

Cons:

Some reports that are important to me are not included. So, I have to export data and make my own Excel graphs and reports.

Depends on the user

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Highly recommend doing the 4 part training & TAKE NOTES - the reporting aspects are incredible & awesome!

Pros:

Building custom reports; it's a little tricky to learn as within each category there's limitations of what can be added to any report. The company contacts are really good at communication. With any program, initial set up is IMPORTANT - tons of customization in this software. You have to know what you want

Cons:

The cost is high for the limitations & odd bugs (all software has them), the upgraded parts of Dude don't work well with legacy modules.

Effective~Quality~ At your Fingertips

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Extremely user friendly, love the fact that you can make line items according to the way your bill appears line by line. This feature saves time each month

Pros:

The migration from our old software to Energy Manager was a very smooth process. There are a lot more options that you can view in different charting capabilities dependent on what your needs are.

Cons:

Initially, the reporting was a tad difficult but as we had more information in the new system it was much easier to use.

Great for New Energy Manager

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: I am a new energy manager. I was thrust into this position when our former EM retired. My background is in construction project management. So this was all new for me. With that said, I needed something would be easy to pick up and learn. This program is that. I was also able to give reports and information when requested by using the canned reports. So far this program has been great.

Pros:

It was easy to use and the large variety of reports is great.

Cons:

Like all software, there is a learning curve. But that is not a huge negative, just a fact.

Great for tracking energy use trends and patterns

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Very good. The customer support specialists are excellent, namely [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

Pros:

There are many filters to use to customize data output and/or graphs. You can also save your favorite graphs and output.

Cons:

The software does not capture from all of our utility companies. This means we have to upload our data. There is sometimes a lag between when the data is uploaded and when it is actually parsed into the software for use.
