Reviews of Google Workspace

Comprehensive Collaboration Tool
Comments: I am using Google Workspace personally and professionally since few years.
Pros:
Google workspace is comprehensive collaboration tools where it provides suite of applications which enable users to work together, manage documents, organize tasks, and communicate seamlessly. Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drives are part of this suite.
Cons:
For smaller companies, Google Workspace is more expensive than free alternatives, especially when considering the cost per user.
Alternatives Considered:
Google Workspace has a huge footprint in this space but for good reason
Comments: I have enjoyed administrating our Google Workspace environment. The availability and multiple integrations with other products make it the best solution for a company.
Pros:
Integrations, ease of use, versatile, and availability
Cons:
What I least like about Google Workspace is the pricing and support from Google.
Alternatives Considered:
Google Workspace - the good, the bad, and the downright ugly
Comments: Overall, I've been mostly pleased with my experience with Google Workspace. However, because of the serious issues I've had with trying to reassemble my total file structure and now having at least 12 duplicates of each file/folder, I have chosen to build my own redundant file server with exponential storage so that I can do not have to contend with the synching issues. Once I sort out the duplicates and rebuild my original file structure to completion, I will likely ditch Workspace (at least the drive portion). I do not see the need to pay ~$275/year for the service if I can store my files at home and access them anywhere worldwide - with at least six to ten times the amount of storage space available.
Pros:
I like the convenience of Google Workspace - I can use my business' domain name and still have all the creature comforts of Google's numerous apps and tools, like Drive, email, etc.
Cons:
There is a learning curve when setting up Google Workspace. From my perspective, an average user will not understand the in-depth and granular onboarding process. Google Workspace seemingly treats its users as large corporations, and as such, it fashions its directions and setup process as though they are dealing with IT pros. However, as a small freelance design studio (sole proprietor), I do not need all the features that are available to set up, such as mobile device authorizations, auditing, groups, and teams. I wish Google had the option of scaling their set-up and onboarding process specifically to each user—perhaps a preferences board where options can be toggled on/off to lessen the confusion. Thankfully, I have prior knowledge of domain setup, mailbox management, etc. However, I still had to consult Google support more than once to ensure my settings were correct. However, beyond the length of the setup process, my biggest complaint about Google Workspace is that there is no easy or efficient way to eliminate duplicate files and protect files from errant deletion. Therefore, if a sync session is interrupted, files can be inadvertently duplicated, or when files on one terminal are accidentally deleted, those files are also deleted within the Drive space—a complete recipe for disaster. This has happened to me more than once. I attempted to remove duplicate files from my internal hard drive but didn't realize that my Drive app was still running. Instead of being able to correct my course and undelete the data, the app synced my changes to the cloud, and my data was forever lost (because of the sheer amount of it - over 4 TB). I've since attempted to restore many of the files using EaseUs recovery software and miscellaneous backups I have from other hard drives, but that has also turned into a disaster because when I start the copying process (restoring the files), the internet cuts out and the connection is lost. The whole process has to be restarted, but Google doesn't know where it left off and where it needs to begin, so the process starts from scratch, causing multiples of each file to collect in the cloud, and then it is synced back to my local hard drive - using up precious storage space. Google needs a more robust solution to track file changes and versions, a check/balance approach to adding and replacing files, and the ability to resume a sync or copy session where it left off.

Not perfect, but still amazing!
Comments: I've been using Google Workspace for over a decade, and it's just an excellent product, and they keep improving it. However, they seem to change their mind too often. "Here's Duo, use it for video conferencing. Here's Hangouts, use it to chat. Psych! Now it's Meet and Chat."
Pros:
When it comes to team collaboration, Google Workspace is the best in the business. Teams can collaborate live editing documents together, using chat within those documents, and everything is just intuitive.
Cons:
While the collaboration is amazing, the productivity suite just isn't MS Office. They're close, but just lagging in features. The Google Sheets formulas aren't quite the same as Excel, the formatting options of Google Docs aren't as robust as Word, etc.
Alternatives Considered:
Everything is There, All The Time
Comments: I use Google Workspace daily for work and for personal use. The synchronization across devices is so handy.
Pros:
I like that everything is in one space and can be accessed from pretty much everywhere.
Cons:
The support is usually not helpful and can take a long time to hear back from.
Google Workspace for Business
Comments: The best platform for our company so far, emails are organized.
Pros:
It's easy to use and learn. And very convenient platform for beginners.
Cons:
I wish google meet can have more options and we can do other options for calendar events.
Alternatives Considered:
New Company? Start Here.
Pros:
Google Workspace does it all. It's a one stop shop for anyone looking to manage a workspace. Provisioning, security, user management all in one spot.
Cons:
Very complex tool to use when you are looking to create a search through any of the activities on the account.
Your One-Stop Workshop!
Comments: I enjoy the many features this platform provides, from editing to using templates. Everything is conveniently located in one area & the flexibility of being able to share, transfer & edit data within team members is effortless.
Pros:
It has all the features/applications you would find in an expensive software, but all without fees!
Cons:
I've yet to offer any negative feedback for this platform.
Detail look of Google Workspace
Comments: Excellent experience with google workspace, because tools of google workspace is very easy to access, and interfaces of these tools are excellent. And with tools like doc, sheets, etc. multiple users can work on same document with real time updates.
Pros:
It is cloud based, by the help of this we can use it anywhere and anytime and it works on different devices like desktop, mobile phone etc.
Cons:
If there is a advance features in Microsoft office like complex animations in PowerPoint, are missing or less powerful for this
Alternatives Considered:
What a great resource!
Comments: I have been using Google Workspace for years and continue to learn more ways to the many resources/tools within.
Pros:
Variety of apps available for shared use
Cons:
Not so easy to import items from other platforms
Alternatives Considered:
Google Workspace is a must-have for teams.
Comments: I enjoy how simple it is to interact with my team using Google Docs and Sheets. We can work on the same document simultaneously and view each other's modifications in real time.
Pros:
Mention the tools or features that you find most useful, such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Cons:
oogle Workspace makes your work more productive and organised.
My lovely experience with Google workspece
Comments:
There was a time I forgot to add the subject to the email that I composed, when I hit the send button, I was prompted to add the subject, or if I would like to send it without a subject. That saved me from a huge mistake.
Great and enjoying seriously.
Pros:
I love Google Meet, it enables me to have unlimited time to meet with my students and friends. I love Gmail; it is easy to access through the mobile app and friendly. I love Google Calendar, it keeps me updated, and I can always automatically save my schedules.
Cons:
The search engine, I'd rather go for Gemini... smile
Google Workspace Ideal For Teamwork
Comments: Overall, Google Workspace is a great solution, especially if your team is in different locations. It offers all the apps you need for staying on top of all your business needs, and it's easy to transition over to if you already have experience with other workspaces.
Pros:
We love that we can create a document that can be seen and edited by other team members without having to copy files to flash drives or attach them to emails. Spreadsheets and reports are most important, and they involve being seen by many people before being finalized. We can store each draft so we don't lose them, them keep working forward until we have a finished product to present to the masses. With team members scattered all over the place, it's a real time saver.
Cons:
The documents don't always update in real time. We'll get on the phone to discuss, say, a spreadsheet, and we'll suddenly realize we're looking at different drafts. As soon as everyone refreshes their screens and connections, voila, we're all back on the same page, but it's a real pain sometimes when we're in a hurry to discuss something. Google should look into why this keeps happening.
Better than Microsoft
Comments: For the most part excellent . Though they poorly timed updates and emails on different changes in Admin things that have to get done get annoying. I just want it to work and once it does, I don’t want them to mess with it.
Pros:
Some of the best parts of Google workspace are it integration with of course Gmail and calendar and the fact that the interface is just so intuitive and pretty much everyone knows how to use it . The other great feature of Google workspace is the fact that it leverages the power of Google search within your workspace environment so finding emails documents calendar entries are so easy and if you systematically and consistently label items properly that leveraging gets taken up a notch . The big pro is it is so much more cost-effective than Microsoft .
Cons:
The biggest con with Google workspace is Google‘s attitude of killing things off. If you become dependent on using one other tools and they decide to kill it off, they leave you stranded. Such as Jamboard. It would be nice if they added a little more crossed product integration. We use Google chat and spaces with a unique space for each client household that we deal with. We use it as a way for the team members to keep each other up-to-date on what we’re working on and our progress. It would be nice to be able to flag emails and documents and link them to the chat space currently we can only do tasks.
Great but could be better
Comments: Overall I really like it. It's my go-to for pretty much everything work-related. I love how seamlessly everything connects. Going between emails, Docs, Meetings, and the rest is so smooth. It rally helps our productivity, especially when collaborating with others. The real-time teamwork features are great and being able to access everything from anywhere is super convenient. As mentioned it has a few quirks, like occasional offline syncing issues and maybe a slightly too simple design at times. But overall, Google Workspace is a winner in my book. It just makes work easier and more efficient.
Pros:
I like how smoothly all the apps work together. It makes juggling emails, documents, meetings, and everything else a breeze. The real-time collaboration is a game-changer for our team.
Cons:
Honestly, I can't fault it overall, but if I had to pick something that bugs me, it's probably the hiccups with offline access. Sometimes, when I'm working offline, things don't sync perfectly, or I can't access all the features I need. It's not a dealbreaker, but its definitely frustrating when it happens. Also, while I like the clean and simple design of the apps, sometimes I find them a bit too basic. I occasionally miss some of the more advanced features and customization options you get with other suites.
The best for organization!
Pros:
Google Workspace is so easy to use. I love that I can so easily keep track of all of my businesses' needs inside of one platform and that everything syncs so easily. I've really enjoyed organizing all of my files within Drive, linking Docs to Tasks, syncing Tasks to my Calendar, setting up Appointment Schedules within Calendar, and embedding Forms into my Appointment Schedules. Everything is so smooth and streamlined.
Cons:
I would love to see a mobile version of Google Tasks and I would love to see this get built out to work a little bit more like Asana, Trello, or Monday. I also would love to see Google Slides function a little more like PPT or like Canva.
You can't go wrong with Google Workspace for project management
Comments: Overall, it has been very satisfying, the tools have been very useful to achieve success in our projects and manage documentation.
Pros:
I like how complete the workspace is. We used most of its tools for storing the entire project documentation, manage mail communications and daily chats, schedule team video calls and used Jamboard before it got discontinued.
Cons:
One of the Google Workspace tools, Google meets, is very powerful, but lacks the tool to draw in the screen of the person who is sharing screen, to better discuss the project.
Alternatives Considered:
Google Workspace - Must Have Productivity and Collaboration Tools
Comments: Our team has used Google Workspace for years and absolutely love how easy it makes collaborating together and with external partners.
Pros:
Google Workspace is easy to set up for your whole team and provides essential collaborative tools all in-one place. With email, file sharing, documents, spreadsheets, slides, forms and much more this platform is our must have for getting things done.
Cons:
I wish google drive space had more filtering options for organizing and accessing files. This drawback can occasionally make it difficult to quickly find a file if you don't have a clearly established folder hierarchy in place.

Google Workspace for new business-2 Thumbs UP!
Comments: Overall experience has served to be very beneficial to my new business. I am looking forward to learning more of the functions and implementing more into my business!
Pros:
Organization and ease of use for new business owners. I found that I could operate my small business very easily with Google Workspace and the functions it has to share documents, create forms and communicate with businesses from other networks. I am still learning some of the functions of Google Docs, Google Drive, and Google Sheets. Overall, Ive found it to be user friendly- so far so good!
Cons:
I wish there were more tutorials for new users on the functions of all the sections in the suite. Things like how to correct forms, do outlines, etc. I think it would be useful to have a tutorial available for new users.
A single point of access to an expansive and dependable suite of tools
Comments: Google Workspace is what I use as soon as log on to my workstation and I depend upon in it at every stage of my working day - and it has never let me down.
Pros:
Having Google Workspace means that every element of my workflow is accessible via a single login on any internet-connected workstation. That alone is immensely powerful. Beyond that, though, the way that the apps integrate with one another means that, to use a cliche, "it just works" - which is the most important aspect when assessing tools which I need to rely upon constantly. Throughout my working day there isn't a moment where I'm not using Google Workspace.
Cons:
The only thing within Google Workspace that I have switched out for an alternative product is the browser. Chrome is excellent, and I've switched to another Chromium browser because of how important the single point of login is, but other options (Arc, for example) offer advanced and enhanced functionality that leave Chrome a little lacking.
"Efficient and Collaborative Tool for Gym Management"
Comments: Overall, my experience with Google Workspace as a gym manager has been very positive. It provides a reliable, flexible platform that helps us manage team communications, class schedules, and document sharing efficiently. The real-time collaboration in Google Docs and Sheets makes it easy to track class attendance, update schedules, and keep everyone in sync. Google Calendar is essential for scheduling classes and personal training sessions, as it’s accessible across all devices, which our staff and members appreciate. There are some areas where it could be more streamlined, but Google Workspace has made organizing and managing our operations far simpler, which ultimately helps us deliver better service to our members.
Pros:
As a manager at a gym, what I like most about Google Workspace is the ability to streamline communication and scheduling. Google Calendar makes it easy to schedule classes, set reminders, and share schedules with team members, which keeps everyone on the same page. With Google Drive and Docs, I can quickly create and store shared documents, like training audits, attendance sheets, and class schedules, so our team can access essential information anytime. Collaboration is smooth and efficient, as we can edit documents in real time, leave comments, and assign tasks—all of which help us stay organized and reduce downtime. Plus, Gmail and Google Chat provide quick communication channels, making it easy to stay connected with the team, address member questions, and coordinate on the go.
Cons:
One challenge with Google Workspace as a gym manager is that some of the tools can feel a bit fragmented, especially when switching between multiple apps like Calendar, Drive, and Chat to manage different aspects of the business. It would be helpful if there was a more centralized dashboard that could integrate everything in one place, so we don’t need to keep toggling between apps. Also, while Google Meet is great for virtual meetings, it lacks some of the advanced features we’d want for interactive sessions or training, like in-meeting feedback or easy file sharing for participants, which would make it more effective for team coordination. Finally, new team members sometimes find the learning curve a bit steep, especially if they’re not familiar with Google’s interface, so training time can be a bit longer.
Review After Several Years of Use
Comments: Overall I am very happy to be an user of Google Workspace. Though some improvements are required but overall the features and the apps are next level and very user-friendly.
Pros:
The list would be long :D but the following are a few of them - 1. Seamless "e-mail" experience. What I like the most is the simple layout (design). 2. Robust "Drive" to store data and access from anywhere in the world, 3. Excellent integration facility of reminders, events, etc, through "Calendar". 4. Classic apps like Sheets, Docs and Slides. Working online has become super easy. The best part is the access facility from across the globe and different devices. 5. "Forms", is a great way to gather data, do analysis, etc. 6. Lastly, "Meet" app is an inseparable part of my day-to-day meetings. There are many useful apps that come with Google Workspace. I can keep on writing on these as it made my day-to-day work very easy and convenient :D
Cons:
It's not that I didn't like but there are a few things where I think that there is an scope of improvement. The following are the same - 1. e-mail - In the e-mail app, the advance search option should have the feature to search the e-mails older than an year. 2. Being a paid user of Workspace, some essential apps like Gemini and YouTube, etc should be provided with a premium account. 3. Google Meet should have some features like having a look at the participants while sharing the screen and ease of sharing a video with sound (through a player).
Can you even work without this?
Comments:
Increased productivity
Easy to integrate
A natural and essential part of my day-to-day.
Pros:
All your business essentials gathered in one place. Effortlessly create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, then collaborate with your team in real-time. Join meetings via Hangouts and manage your emails seamlessly with Gmail. I've been using the Google Suite for over a decade and can’t imagine switching back to any other software. The intuitive design is fresh, user-friendly, and incredibly efficient.
Cons:
To be honest I can hardly think of an improvement area. Maybe the formulas on Google Sheets at the beginning can be a bit tricky if you have a deep knowledge on similar tools but apart from that, I really enjoy using this software.
Fantastic and Modern Tool
Comments: I've been using Google Workspace here and there with my current company and two previous companies as well. I use it for collaborating on documents, collaborating on spreadsheets, hosting company files in the cloud, and sharing processes in need of updates.
Pros:
I love how lately I can do tabs in Google Docs. And before that, I loved that I could insert a link to a Google Workspace file and then tab to change the link into a linked button of it's own with the file title.
Cons:
I don't love the way that it's not quick and easy to move Google Docs or Sheets back and forth between different folders. I wish that Google Drive worked more like a desktop, with ability to have multiple folders open side-by-side.
Connect, Message, Respond, Relax
Comments: Overall, Google Workspace has streamlined the process of not just keeping in touch with people day to day, but also connecting with important new contacts. One of the latest features I have found quite useful is being able to take notes on specific emails and have that on the side. It would be nice if there would be an indicator on the main email inboxes which messages have notes attached to them however.
Pros:
That even having been a user for years, I am still discovering new-to-me very useful tools that I can take advantage of even in my day to day life.
Cons:
Sometimes It feels like it is overly complicated. Too many buttons and things to choose from that don't always have clear purpose without doing some searching.
