Reviews of Merit Payroll
Game changer for payroll intermediaries and compliant Umbrella providers
Comments: Sam and the team are experts in their field and provide a great time saving piece of software that is vital for providers wanting to work efficiently and compliantly
Pros:
Unlike most other payroll software Merit is firmly aimed at the ever growing Umbrella market, having software already tailored to the business' core functions removed the need for continuing costly bespoke work and add ons. Merit understands its audience and how vital compliance is to the survival of Umbrella providers and always works with this in mind.
Cons:
Some aspects should be customizable internally without the need to revert back to Merit and rely on the projects team and development team.
Very comprehensive Pay and Charge capability and reliable if use core stengths.;
Comments: Ability to bring pay & charge in-house but at the expense of having to cover some labour intensive activities for a period before product could be aligned to automate.
Pros:
Feature rich. Solid and reliable if use 'out the box'. Regular updates and relatively cheap operational cost.
Cons:
Less flexible if customise - System Admin can do very little to maintain or enhance functionality, need to go back to Merit which inevitably means waiting in a queue. Reporting capability is limited - would benefit from better access to database via provided tools. Need to see demos of product features to avoid surprises - don't trust verbal assurances that it will cover what you might regard as baseline requirements, see it demonstrated first! Need to host - a SaaS based solution would be a great addition to the company's product line!
