Software of the future!!
Comments: Before Square I had sleepless nights, no time with my children, no me time and I was always worried that I was missing something pertaining to my business. When I was introduced to Square my life has forever changed. My smile returned and my children have their mom back!!
Pros:
As a single mother of 5 I live a hectic and stressful life. With Square point of sale I can focus more on my family since I know I have a software that practically runs my business for me.
Cons:
I have nothing negative to say except why wasn’t this software around a lot sooner.
My Experience with Square Point of Sale"
Comments: the overall sentiment tends to be very favorable, particularly for small to medium-sized businesses looking for an all-in-one solution.
Pros:
user-friendly interface, which makes it easy to navigate and set up, even for those without extensive technical knowledge. The flexibility it offers for various payment methods, including credit cards, mobile payments, and online transactions, is also a significant benefit. Additionally, the ability to integrate with other Square services, such as inventory management and customer relationship management, streamlines operations.
Cons:
While Square does offer offline capabilities, i have experienced issues when trying to process transactions without an internet connection, which can be problematic in certain scenarios.
How Square has changed the way I do business
Comments: I have nothing but good things to say about Square except for a few qurks and errors, I have had a great experience learning and using Square Pos
Pros:
That I can access and take it anywhere I go. I love Square for the portability the most. It' has allowed me to make sales on the go to the elderly, the people that don't have transportation, and potential new clients
Cons:
How long it takes to post you funds into your square account for instant access.
Square Point of Sale is Easy to Use
Comments: I felt my overall experience with Square Point of Sale was smooth and easy to learn. I used the Square Point of Sale for one location of business, I have about 25 products I'm tracking inventory on. I make adjustments to discounts. These functions were easy to figure out how to use without using any help features or stressing out. Square Point of Sale system was also very easy to use on my iPhone and it has many options for accepting payments as far as different hardward is concerned. You don't need hardware either, you can use an iphone and use the Square Point of Sale app to process payments for your customers. I prefer the actual Square because sometimes people don't have the tap to pay option if they don't have their Apple wallet set up properly or don't how to process payments that way.
Pros:
Square Point of Sale is very easy to set up and use. The interface is very clean. I have used the Wix point of sale system which has a busier UI and is slightly more difficult to use. If someone is using a point of sale system for the first time, between Wix and Square, I think Square would be easier for them.
Cons:
I didn't find anything I didn't like about it. I think that there's always a learning curve with any new point of sale system.
Alternatives Considered: Wix
Reasons for Switching to Square Point of Sale: I didn't know that Wix had it's own point of sale system before I got Square. I got Square, then I started to use the Wix system and while they both do what they are suppose to do, Squares interface was so much easier on the eyes.
Square is super user friendly!
Comments: I am super happy with Square. I have been using it for years at my office job and for personal sales at home!
Pros:
I like that I can customize my items and organize them by category on the main screen. I also like that it shows my inventory amounts and alerts me when we are low. I can do EVERYTHING on the home screen!
Cons:
I was not happy with the process of adding inventory. I found it a little complicated. However, the how to instructions are super helpful!
Easy to use and navigate
Comments: Very easy to setup and use. My staff learned how to navigate it in one training session.
Pros:
Square was easy to use and easy to setup.
Cons:
At this time I do not have anything that I do not like about Square.
Alternatives Considered: Stripe
Reasons for Switching to Square Point of Sale: Square had ease of use and ease of purchase.
Square POS can make your checkouts so much easier while giving you more insight into your business.
Comments: Square has been a godsend. We started using it in 2011 and it has grown so much. The info at your fingertips on sales trends, item sales, customer average spend, etc can make you realize trends or items you didn't realize were popular. now it is more normal to see an iPad as a register, but people were blown away when we started and took away the giant clunky Casio cash registers and marveled at how modern and slick it was.
Pros:
Super easy to use, can train anyone in minutes with the simple touch screen interface compared to trying to teach someone a cats register with all its cryptic buttons and key turns.
Cons:
I wish it was a bit more flexible in the layout of the POS and what buttons could and can't be shown or dragging pages of favorites in different order. The old part is they are always changing and improving so hopefully some if not all will be addresses.
Great product with many features
Comments: Great for everything from credit card processing to reports
Pros:
Great way to offer credit card processing in multiple ways
Cons:
Nothing about this product everything is wonderful
Very Happy
Comments: Overall I am very happy with Square. I would recommend it to all my crafty people who work at markets selling their hand-made goods.
Pros:
I am so happy I discovered square. I don't have the actual card reader, I just use the online payment option. This has been a game changer for my small business. If we are at trade shows/craft fairs, people can now pay with card. I could not even count how many times I miss out on the sale because people are not carrying enough cash. It is so easy to put in the sale amount, enter their card details and complete the sale. The money can be transferred to me in a day or two. Not bad fee either. Very reasonable.
Cons:
I would say the only thing I wish would be better is having a faster turn around time to have the money in my bank account. It is still very reasonable, but same day would be better.
I love Square!
Pros:
I like the ease of Square Point of Sale. I use it for a pop up shop for my crafts and it is so easy
Cons:
Only downfall that I've seen was when I first started using it, I needed to reach out to customer service and the wait time was longer than most companies
Square isn’t so square!
Comments: I used Square as a POS in a few gift shops and many events. I love this interface for event transactions because you can easily categorize what you need and you have the ability to have portable POS options.
Pros:
Very clean and aesthetic interface, POS additions were user friendly
Cons:
Trying to navigate building a Square website is a doozy, and sometimes the help articles aren’t really helpful.
Alternatives Considered: Clover
Reasons for Switching to Square Point of Sale: I liked that they had a Square online operating system already set up.
Square Point of Sale is Reliable and Easy to Use, But Beware
Comments: Our overall experience with Square POS was either one extreme or the other. We were reasonably happy customers for four years, minimal complaints, and then dumped on our butts without warning. Three years earlier we were contacted by Square POS and asked to remove glass product from our POS, and we complied, so I'm honestly not sure why, years later, as loyal customers we weren't even given the courtesy of a phone call or email explaining what the issue actually was.
Pros:
Our setup was Square POS for the brick & mortar piece of our store, then we had another software acting as our master of inventory between our store, and website, which was hosted on a different, more robust ecommerce platform than Square. I feel it's fair to say that Square kept its promise in terms of its uptime, and ease of use. We rarely had issue with Square POS being down, though it did happen for a few hours here and there, but again, well within their uptime promise.
Cons:
What did I like least about Square POS? That would be the time Square, with zero notice, pulled the plug on our store and website as a credit card processor, leaving us without any modern way to process payments. Customer service IS part of the deal, right? Well, when I contacted Square about this, I was not given a reason, or the ability to appeal the decision. I was simply told to move on to a different solution, and no further information would be provided.
Alternatives Considered: Shopify POS and Toast POS
Reasons for Switching to Square Point of Sale: We went with Square POS because we are in the CBD business, and Square invited us to be part of their CBD payment processing program. There's that, and in all honesty, the software is incredibly easy to set up, and use. It's certainly not the most robust solution in terms of reporting, but to cover that we were able to connect to a solid IMS via API. For most businesses, I think Square would be a simple POS solution, but again, beware, there just wasn't a lot of communication from their end on major decisions that negatively impacted our small business.
Loving Square Point of Sale
Comments: Overall very positive, and I recommend to anyone that does electronic sales/needs a terminal that I come in contact with on a day-to-day basis.
Pros:
Square Point of Sale has been very easy to use, easy to integrate and wonderful for keeping track of day-to-day sales. Very low customer complaints, and no problems during in-person sales. Hand-held device is very convenient, easy to transport and take to different locations
Cons:
Given the NYS laws, and how/what our orders are, we are not a fan of the $0.x cent charge per order- would be much easier to just have the flat percentage. Also given the nature of our business, would be helpful to have a straight charge, not different for "card present" or not.
Great product
Comments: I really like square and don't have any interest in switching card processors
Pros:
Square is very user friendly and simple to use. The fees for square are high per use than many other merchant devices but there are no other monthly/maintenance hidden fees so overall they tend to be cheaper especially for small businesses unless you're running several thousand dollars/month in credit cards
Cons:
Customer receipts don't list custom items
Satisfied Customer very user friendly and up to date
Comments: over all i think its a great product and we realistically dont have any complaints.
Pros:
I love that it is again very user friendly and the processing fees are low and the processing speed is fast.
Cons:
I dont like that you cant go back and look at a last name from the card used in processing of a payment u would have to go on line and do 4 different steps if you needed to clarify an error .
Alternatives Considered: Clover
Reasons for Switching to Square Point of Sale: better pricing and seemingly better technology
Square works really well for small businesses to start taking card payments fast.
Comments: I really like Square for a simple solution to taking credit card payments for small businesses.
Pros:
It is easy to use and works well for small businesses, both services and retail.
Cons:
Sometimes it can be pretty glitchy. Getting various aspects of the app set up are not always intuitive. There is zero customer support, so you are very much on your own if something doesn't make sense.
Company could be great but lost desire.
Comments: I’ve been using Square for 6 years now and like almost everything about it except the lack of pre-authorization on credit cards. The company has been promising this feature for the 6 years I’ve been with them but has yet to come through. Other than that I have been mostly happy. Customer service is lacking but that seems common with all companies these days. In the end they usually solve the problem, just takes several phone transfers. This could be a great company but they seemed to have lost the fire that they had when they started.
Pros:
System is affordable and fairly straight forward to use. There are lots of features that work well together.
Cons:
No pre-authorization of credit cards so you have to hold cards behind bar. This is a real problem on busy nights.
Invaluable service
Comments: I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. They're cuurently holding funds, while constantly trying to draw from my account, claiming I owe them money, but give no proof. Customer service claims they can't give me answers for lack of access to account information. They claimed they escalated, but never heard from them, while they continue to try and draft my account.
Pros:
It's something you can use to help get the ball rolling with your business
Cons:
Hidden fees and probably the most poor customer service I've dealt with in a very long time. Heavily loacking communication
No Brainer! Always Reliable
Comments: We have had no regrets with choosing square. We have used it for over 2 years with no problems, if you spend the time you can use so many more features. Two location price difference, variations, gift cards, website for online order. If we invested more time we could utilize all their product and it would be great. Getting there!
Pros:
No pressure of salesman, prices are very clear, no contract, does sooo many things!
Cons:
I don’t know. I did all the checking prior, have used it for many more things than I expected to get as part of the service with no additional fees
Square Point of Sale Review
Pros:
It is very simple and easy software that anyone is able to use.
Cons:
The most annoying thing about it is to change the way the checkout looks, you must use an ipad and there is not a computer friendly option.
Diverse Uses for Non-Profit Organization
Comments: Overall - this has been our main fundraising tool when it comes to in-person events. At our most recent event - we had the goal of raising $25,000, and thanks to the ease of access that the Square Point of Sale provided, we almost doubled our fundraising goal.
Pros:
We primarily use the Square Point of Sale for our fundraisers. This product allows:i. Increased accessibility for participates to donate (credit or debit) ii. Allows our administration to be able to track key data such as money coming in and donor information to support with our accounting, bookkeeping, and tac receipt administrationiii. Ease of access - as a non-profit who is primarily volunteer base, we have ever changing support staff, with the comprehensive app, on-boarding to usage is smooth and easy!
Cons:
As a non-profit, we take an extra step to ask our donors if they would like to cover the service fee, and often times donors do. However, the minor complexities here is there are service fee differences whether someone pays through credit or debit - just something to be mindful of, especially when manually inputting the amount.
Try Square!
Comments: I have had a wonderful experience with square point of sale and I would recommend it to anyone that wants to use an easy and inexpensive payment processing system.
Pros:
I like the ease of use and that it works instantly for processing payments
Cons:
Can take a while to hear back from customer service if you ever have an issue
Worst customer service and company that I've ever dealt with.
Comments: Horrible and worst experience with a company ever
Pros:
It was always just ok until I was unable to process orders due to my account not working.
Cons:
Worst customer service and company that I've ever dealt with. As a business owner, you deal with a lot of different companies and this is by far the worst company for POS systems. When you have any issues with their software and online program they are impossible to talk to and then put you on hold just to tell you that it is your fault and you need to contact google, apple, or other businesses to fix their problem. Do not use for any reason. I have 3 of my companies with them currently but I will be canceling my service with all of them.
A great asset to any business
Comments: Would recommend to any home based businesses, any businesses on the go, anyone who needs a fast and convenient POS device
Pros:
Convenient, easy and fast transactions. Real time results and amazing accessibility. Love how I can take it anywhere and how low maintenance it is
Cons:
No cons were found as of yet. I love this product and service
Square - DR
Comments: great, easy to use and have been using Square for over 8 years
Pros:
easy to use, can use with iPad as well, great for tradeshows when we promote our business and sell products
Cons:
the fees can be a little high, no other complaints at this time
