Reviews of Symantec Endpoint Security

A good security application
Pros:
Si easy to mantain and implement, intuitive installation process
Cons:
The application consumes many cpu and memory sometimes, for which the device becomes very slow
Alternatives Considered:
symantec the antivirus
Pros:
symantec used to protect our data in real time
Cons:
in windows we have by default windows defender . its also giving same features
Symantec Endpoint Security Works
Comments: Positive, does what it needs to do to protect endpoints from malware
Pros:
Very effective at identifying and eliminating malware and viruses on endpoints.
Cons:
Since Broadcom takeover very difficult to navigate licensing and admin tasks
Safer digital experience and exploring essential routes
Comments: Best threat intelligence network. It is worth trying.
Pros:
Being able to realize legitimate account names on the system and avoid malicious activities is a major step. The protection technology in place is diverse and trustworthy. Very unique and user friendly too.
Cons:
Does not have Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) which is a drawback. It comes at a cost.
Alternatives Considered:
Symantec End-Point Security
Comments: We were very satisfied with it once it was moved to a cloud based offering as opposed to an on-site server base. But once purchased by Broadcom, the changes in how it had to be renewed thru a reseller and the growing complexity of it, forced us to switch.
Pros:
Highly Configurable, thus allowing rules to be added for exceptions or exclusions to programs that we needed to trust.
Cons:
Became extremely complex and harder to renew once purchased by Broadcom several years back.
A good product to consider
Comments: A good program to keep your computer protected, it does not slow the performance and seems to be more compatible with older systems than other brands. You can schedule the scans, and thethe various options about protection; suggest to lock the settings (the user cannot change them).
Pros:
I install and use Symantec Endpoint Security on those computers that become too slow or start crashing when I install other antivirus brands. In fact i have to say that Symantec Endpoint Security does not slow your computer while protecting it and scanning for threats. The interface may look a bit old but it has all the features required, plus it is easy to manage. I use it both on servers and clients.
Cons:
Scanning task keep on "amassing" on my desktop, they don't close automatically
Good Security
Comments: Overall easy to use and the interfence is like butter its very smooth.
Pros:
Easy to use very good mobile options and does what is says it does. Protects
Cons:
Not very strong at reporting and I swear I feel like my computer gets laggy
Symantec Endpoint Security
Pros:
Able to update the Endpoint without an active internet connection. Comes with lots of features that can be activated/deactivated manually
Cons:
False positive. Could be challenging to convince customers to renew license since definitions can be updated without valid license.
Time to move on and use something better than Symantec
Comments: Overall, I would caution people from using this product. There are other competitors with much more robust technologies for roughly the same price.
Pros:
A well-known product with a long running reputation of quality.
Cons:
Missed too many obvious security hazards and required secondary software to fill the gaps in its endpoint protection.
Symantec Security
Pros:
Good software but a little bit havy. Computer slowed down after installation.
Cons:
Computer slowed downs after installation
Symantec EDR
Comments: The overall experience from the symantec edr is more than two years that i defend my hundreds computer's and servers and its very good product and very easy to use
Pros:
I like that its have also proxi defender and web isolation all in one. And the ui ux of the monitor is very easy to understand the statuses
Cons:
It was better if i have also in the monitor able to bring logs from other apps that i have allredey in our organisation
It is a very good net protector.
Comments: It has been a satisfactory experience, like every endpoint that is installed, it is intended that you can obtain clear extra security results throughout your network, this program has propitiated that scenario. Our laptops, PCs, mobiles, network, machines have been highly protected in a number of third party attacks.
Pros:
The biggest pros are that it's very easy to install, develop and start using it to test your entire network, it's device friendly and I mostly use linux and android for work.It recognizes and has the ability to remember passwords but also the id and mac address of my devices, crossing data to know that I am the one who is really entering.
Cons:
The main problem with the program is the delay in reports, when I include emails it does not send alerts continuously either and it lets some errors pass that are not really from the network but rather from the internal infrastructure that we have.
Alternatives Considered:
Good Enough protection
Comments: Overall i am pleased, but not overwhelmingly happy. i moved on to Sophos in one company and Trellix in another company.
Pros:
Product is cost effect, easy to deploy and easy to manage.
Cons:
Product lacks some new features compared to its competitors in the same class,it is does not detect all the threats. i often scanned the same system with Symantec first, then installed another product and found threats that Symantec scans didn't pick up.
Good for block pen drives and other protection
Pros:
We bought this for overall security of our PC. With this we can block pendrives from the system automatically. Also we have integrated it with our Juniper Firewall. Everything Is working great as of now
Cons:
Only problem is it slows down our pc otherwise no problem everything working great
Symantec Endpoint
Comments: We use Symantec to log in to our bank account. This is a two factor. We feel very safe and secure when using this product.
Pros:
Very easy to use and navigate. Signing in is quick.
Cons:
We do not currently have anything that Symantec can do better at.

A good protection antivirus for big organizations
Pros:
1. End to end scanning and detecting even the slightest possible threat.2. Easy to use and set up3. Provided real time reports even when checking the system remotely
Cons:
At times the use of resources on CPU shot up really high and it made the system unusable at times however, this was resolved when checked properly for the cause.
Best security and anti-virus software
Comments: Symantec runs well in the background and is quick. The system resources aren't taxed, and it offers simple central management functionality. In most cases, deployment and installation go smoothly.
Pros:
is among the top internet security programs (anti-virus/malware). It is simple to use and has a ton of useful features.
Cons:
one of the excellent security programs available online. Although it has many beneficial features, I like how well it can optimize my PC.

Readily accessible antivirus
Pros:
Provides timely threat alertsProvides reliable anti-virus
Cons:
Allow free trial users to scan and eliminate threats without limitations.

Very Effective Tool for Protection
Comments: It is simple to set up meetings, handles security very effectively, and uses little computer resources, making it a useful tool for internal and external collaboration inside our company. Document security and authentication, including two-factor authentication (2FA) for... applications, user-friendly platform interfaces, data encryption, security, and authentication, etc.
Pros:
Very simple to set up with the computers and being installed.
Cons:
I guess the price it self for the tool and all.
Keep your Computer Secured with the best
Pros:
Provides really good virus detection and regular scans which can be done with scheduling and you can also start a virus scan.
Cons:
Sometimes it shows false threat which sometimes results in deletion of important files.
review
Pros:
very organized and easy to use. Never had a problem with this program.
Cons:
It's a great program to use to protect your information.

cool program
Pros:
I loved the feact that it would always tell you when a new ver. Is available.
Cons:
I think that sometimes the ads about the next update could be a little to much

Symantec Secure Software
Comments: The benefit i get from using Symantec is the peace of mind knowing my personal data is secure at all times, customer support is always ready to help whenever needed; Moreover, Symantec even scans any application that i download from the web, and makes it sure that is it safe before executing the install, that is a huge plus for me.
Pros:
Symantec does a great job in terms of blocking viruses, malware, spyware, ads, and it is fast. I use it daily on my PC and as well as at my workplace. The security updates download automatically and daily in the background without bugging the user, I can scan a particular file or directory, i can schedule a scan anytime of my preference, also if a new updates has been installed and if it requires me to reboot my pc, i can choose a later time to perform that task Symantec is great in terms of security, i have a peace of mind when i use Symantec knowing i am safe when browsing the web. Next feature, is the quick customer support, Symantec customers reps are always available at any given time.
Cons:
One of the downside of using Symantec is that it takes up a lot of system memory since the applications is always running in background. My RAM space on my PC is 8GB, when Symantec is running in the background it takes up-to 35-45 percent of my RAM, which then i do not have much left of to work with.
Symantec Endpoint Protections - guards critical data safely
Comments: We are working in a health care sector which resides lot of critical and personal data. Data security is our main concern, Symantec endpoint protection provides us with the end to end security of files and customer data. it is installed in all the employees laptop and installation an configuration is easy, Automatic updates makes life simpler. The end user doesn't have impact on the scans being run on the system, occasional rebooting of system is required when any updated are done to the system. Overall a very good antivirus and Malware detection and kill software used in most of the high level corporate companies.
Pros:
1. Compatible with all versions of Windows and Mac OS. 2. We use the cloud version of the software,Email notifications and logs about malware and virus detection are cool features. 3. Updates are automatic, we used to do it manually . 4. Build in firewall function is very effective as we get data from many sources. 5. Scans are even done on the applications being downloaded from web which ensures 100% safety. 6. Easy to scale up ad down based on the number of devices. 7. Proactive threat protection option is very useful. 8. The weekly and monthly scan reports can be scheduled and automated and the logs are very descriptive. 9. The interaction with the end user is very minimal and doesn't create any pop ups unnecessarily.
Cons:
1. Annual renewal fee is little higher compared to other vendors. 2. Around 30 to 40% of the CPU resources are consumed during the scan process. 3.The laptop becomes slow while accessing files and data.
Better Malware Management
Comments: It was a great time dealing with the application and the benefits of the antivirus application are much greater than the work involved in maintenance and updates on a regular basis.
Pros:
At a former place of work, we used to deal with a lot of malware owing to storage devices from customers being infected with trojans and other malicious software. The application was easy to install and with regular updates, proved to be quite effective for securing my computer and all the applications I had installed on it.
Cons:
The application needed regular updates to keep it running effectively, and this made it hectic to maintain and manage.
