OneCause is a One Stop Shop!

Pros:

The OneCause platform is super user-friendly and easy to use. As an admin of our account and someone who hadn't used a platform like this before, I was really happy with the features and the ability to customize the Giving Center to look on-brand. We appreciated the support team's readiness and willingness to help us whenever needed, and they were always able to answer our super-specific questions.

Cons:

While there are a lot of customizable options, there were a few things we wanted to do that we couldn't. For example, we wanted to turn off max-bidding, which wasn't possible. We also wanted to use HTML for our package restrictions.

Room for Improvement

Comments: If it's not as intuitive if it needs to be, there should be certain things we can modify ourselves as an organization instead of having to reach our to OneCause customer service for every little thing.

Pros:

Our primary fundraising event is an annual charity golf tournament. One cause is helpful because it not only tracks all our donors, it also works for ticketing and tee sheets.

Cons:

It's not as intuitive as it needs to be.

OneCause brought our fundraising out of the dark ages!

Comments: As with so many other non-profits, we were forced to pivot during the pandemic to find other ways to fundraise. We purchased OneCause as a result and as it turns out, was one of the best purchases we've made. There are many facets to OneCause including event management, online auction, donation tracking, credit card processing, etc. The event website build requires some patience, but OneCause provides an outstanding help center including a "University" to help users succeed. Each support request that I've had over the past 4 years has been answered in a timely manner. On top of all that, OneCause provides regular webinars covering a variety of helpful topics. The event management piece is easy to use and track attendees. The online auction provides an outstanding guest experience and has increased our silent auction proceeds from the antiquated paper bid sheets. Overall OneCause is a powerful fundraising tool, and we are happy to have this software in our fundraising toolbelt.

Pros:

The best aspect of OneCause is the online auction. As important as the proceeds are from a fundraising event, the guest experience is just as important. Our guests are thrilled with the convenience that an online auction provides. The days of going back and forth to write down a bid are gone! OneCause delivers an outstanding, simple and convenient auction experience.

Cons:

What I like the least about OneCause is building an event website. The inability of uploading photos and videos directly into the custom pages is inconvenient. Instead, photos need to be uploaded to Google or Dropbox and then the link is placed behind the scenes with some tweaks. The same process is required for videos.

OneCause Helps with Our Cause!

Comments: I love OneCause! No more paper bid sheets! No more raffle tickets! Everything is on the OneCause platform where tickets, bidding, and donations are simple.

Pros:

OneCause is very userfriendly and when I don't know how to do something, their training videos and websites are very helpful as is customer service when I need a little more help! We've used OneCause for over a decade and I've been working with it for the past three years for our event planning. We've had events where OneCause provided support persons and equipment and we've had events that were completely DIY. As the event is approaching and ending, I use OneCause multiple times a day to track progress and do post-event reports. Our most recent experience with OneCause was for a golf tournament (a new event for us) and integration and implementation was easy and seamless!

Cons:

My only issue with OneCause is when I'm entering items for our auctions and click Save and Next, it doesn't always save my entry. It's not a deterrent, I just go about entering, saving, and entering the next item differently.

OneCause is a dream for event planners

Comments: Overall, OneCause has revolutionized our events. I utilize nearly every feature it offers, from the dashboard to the reports. It not only saves me time and keeps me organized but also instills confidence in our audience.

Pros:

What I love most about OneCause is how it has transformed our silent auction from paper to mobile. It's enabled us to reach a wider audience and significantly increase our silent auction proceeds.

Cons:

Instead of enhancing their existing platform, OneCause opted to develop a completely new one. However, when I attempted to use the new platform, it didn't provide the functionality we required.

Comments: OneCause elevated our fundraising events to a level our rural community wasn't even necessarily ready for. However, it was quickly embraced and has helped us to reach further and raise more than we otherwise could have.

Pros:

Bringing OneCause as a mobile bidding platform to our fundraising events elevated our reach, impact and fundraising goals.

Cons:

Initially the cost was relatively large for us as we utilized onsite support for our large gala. However, a couple years in we became incredibly confident in the set up and usage of the software and now utilize it DIY for all of our events.

Pros:

We can use graphics to make this website look very high-end, but we don't have to be super tech savvy.

Cons:

The CRM side is clunky and take multiple steps to complete tasks.

Silent Auction Success

Comments: Streamlined, user friendly, and the support team was very helpful, especially [sensitive content hidden], our on-site event manager. She was wonderful. OneCause truly helped us save time, resources and maximize giving at our event, along with offering our guests a professional and forwarding thinking giving experience.

Pros:

We used OneCause primarily as an auction management software. Our team loved how streamlined it made the bidding process, the close out process, and collecting payment. We are looking forward to next year's event now that our guests' information is already entered into OneCause because the check in process will be quick and easy, and we've learned a few things about how the software works best for us.

Cons:

We are dismayed there is no way to share links to each individual auction item. We like to feature lots in our eblasts before our event, but it was frustrating only be able to share the link to the OneCause auction homepage rather than individual lots.

Stop looking at other platforms and commit now!

Comments: Our auctions immediately saw higher amounts being spent/donated because of user access and ease of use. The customer service is incredible and everyone I have spoke with is knowledgable and very helpful!

Pros:

I love that I can see past events to reference what we did in prior years. I also like the reports that are available.

Cons:

Custom pages. For a rookie, I find it cumbersome to add designs and links.

Easy to use platform & Ideal for Event Auction

OneCause is worth it!

Comments: I actually enjoyed our event for the first time. Since I had someone from OneCause helping with the technical check-in, processing in person gifts and auction check out, I could visit with our guests and ask them about their bids, if they were enjoying the event and thank them for attending. It was a huge win for me!

Pros:

The training classes are helpful. Software is easy to use. Any questions I had-they were there to help.

Cons:

The cost. But it is worth it. It’s just hard for our non- profit to spend money on something that makes my life easier.

Absolutely seamless software and such a game changer for our non-profit!

Comments: I cannot fathom maneuvering the pandemic as a non-profit without the use of OneCause, much less any other year. We incorporated it into every single virtual event and in-person event and were able to stay financially stable thanks to its use. We actually surpassed our budgeting goals for the year and had the most successful mobile bidding gala silent auction in the Zoos history. We look forward to using OneCause for many years to come!

Pros:

OneCause, including their mobile bidding, peer-to-peer and online giving platforms, has absolutely set the standard for fundraising software for the best price. The software has been invaluable to our non-profit, paying for itself after a single event. Our team seamlessly incorporated each platform into our in-person and virtual events with ease. The mobile bidding software is not only a breeze for administrators to create and manage from the back end, but we have received countless compliments from users/guests as to its ease of use. Even older audiences were able to easily navigate the auction, donate and even set bots/watch different packages. The peer-to-peer platform was unreal. Not only does it have the best aesthetics and options for design, it's seamless in its reporting and analytics. Our peer-to-peer Walk was praised for being a interactive, exciting way to build networks and fundraise for the Zoo for an extended period of time. We cannot stress the effectiveness of this software enough!

Cons:

There is truly so little that we dislike about OneCause. Our customer support contacts were so easy to reach, communicate with and work through any dilemma with. Our only "wish list" item for OneCause's mobile bidding software is simply to be able to categorize fixed price packages. That's all we can think of to improve the platform, which speaks strides of its excellence.

Alternatives Considered:

User friendly and a must-have for large events

Comments: While the community was sure it wouldn't work for them, it did! The ease of bidding from anywhere you are and sharing the items with friends and family near and far is extremely beneficial. Our auction proceeds have nearly doubled since we started using Onecause to its full capacity.

Pros:

I love the max-bids function. We try to push this out to our constituents so that they can attend and enjoy the evening without worrying about getting outbid.

Cons:

Three suggestions: Be able to select who has to enter a credit card to bid and who doesn't. As a school we know almost everyone attending and some of our parents prefer not to enter a credit card up front. While some attendees are not known to us and requiring a credit card would be a must. Secondly, allowing for more than one photo upload would be great. The added URL option is wonderful, but it's sometimes not easy to find photos of items online, especially if they are one of a kind. Another suggestion: We use the Auction Catalogue as our displays at the event. It would be really great to single page display option for items that need to be highlighted. A larger picture or event logo at the top would add to it.

Comments: Our overall experience has been amazing. From the technical support, customer service, and overall event management One Cause has improved our entire events process.

Pros:

We started out with the mobile bidding software and it streamlined our fundraising events increasing revenue and accessibility for guests to attend globally even if they couldn't attend in person. We then moved on to include peer to peer for donor management and campaigns. This software has changed our overall event production providing a smooth process for the user and the attendees.

Cons:

I think the one improvement I would suggest is having the option to text attendees through the peer to peer software similar to the mobile bidding software.

OneCause Auction Software use

Pros:

It is easy to use and setup. Our auction committee feels comfortable using it, and our community has an easy time setting up their accounts/profiles for ease of bidding. We like the functionality of the product and it's a much better forward-facing product than other softwares I've used previously.

Cons:

I would LOVE the ability to have a button to easily create links for URL's in the setup of items and packages. It would save us all so, so much time.

Older Adult Friendly

Pros:

I work For an adult daycare center and we use this platform for our yearly auction and all the caregivers love it. It’s very user friendly for them.

Cons:

Setting up is a bit difficult and the price for a small non profit is a little steep.

Easy and Effective

Comments: We use OneCause primarily for our silent auction and ticket sales. I really appreciate the in-person, on-site support we get during our Gala and Auction as well.

Pros:

I like that the product is easy to change and manipulate on the back end. The support team is also always available and answers emails quickly.

I wish the website could be more powerful and look a little more up to date.

Pros:

OneCause is very user friendly and easy to figure out even for the novice user. There are several work-arounds and all are pretty easy to figure out. I have used this platform many times only once a year and although I need a refresher once coming back into it, I can pick it up very easily - very user friendly.

Cons:

it is pricier than most other platforms. Although they update the platform on a regular basis, I would like to see some competitive features added.

OneCause Test Drive

Comments: The overall event went well and exceeded last year's fundraising goals. With the cost of the software, their share of the funds raised, and the credit card fees, we ended up about where we were last year without an app.

Pros:

OneCause was easy for end-users to bid and pay online.

Cons:

Organizing the auction items with images was time consuming even with the import features.

Love OneCause

Comments: Great customer service! Always love the reps sent to work our Gala, they are great!

Pros:

I primarily use it for fundraising events and it is very helpful and easy to use. Looking forward to the improvements they are rolling out soon!

Cons:

I wish they would bring back the ability to split payments on a single transaction. I miss that!

Increases your Winning Bids

Comments: Using OneCause has facilitated our Silent Auctions tremendously. We started using this system when we had to first do our Gala virtually and have continued to use this product for parts of our Golf Event, online fundraising and as a means to mass communicate (text) to our Golfers when we had to cancel at the last minute due to weather.

Pros:

The ability to text reminders to bidders, let them know when outbid, etc. was key to increasing our winning bids.

Cons:

Our system does not interface with our donation management software. Setting up a new event can be time consuming, especially when first learning the system and if do not use often to remember how to set things up.
