Great value, still needs improvements

Comments: Overall, it's good. I've used eVet/Pulse since 2014 between 2 practices. I'm used to it, I think it's a good product. I just know it could be better.

Pros:

It's fairly easy to learn and is user freindly

Cons:

LOTS of clicking to get to the right page. Also, all of the "enhancements" that they do are not usually actually productive or things that I've seen anyone ask for- making the border of the EMR pink or blue to indicate gender.....there are plenty of other requests that are more important than that.

Comments: It has been amazing this is the second practice that I have implemented pulse at.

Pros:

The ease of access and use. The reports features make my life a lot easier. My tech's also love how everything is much easier to access.

Cons:

No access to an app feature yet. I think it would be amazing if there was an IOS app.

Do not like Covetrus Pulse

Comments: Pulse can be VERY glitchy, it goes down from time to time and we cannot do our daily tasks, it's not user friendly. I don't know what happened from when we first started using EVet Practice to Pulse, but something happened and not for the better. When we call about problems we are having, it's ALWAYS our server and not their problem to look into. The CSR are very nice and I know they are told what to say, it's by no fault of their own they can't say anything but "it's your server". I feel like Covetrus just doesn't want to take on the problems and fix what needs to be fixed. Pulse it just not what it used to be and sure not helpful when you have a problem. I wish I could say better things about Pulse.

Pros:

At this time there is not much I like about Pulse

Cons:

I used to rave about Pulse, something has changed and not for the better. I would not recommend it to a colleague at this time.

Complex but helpful program

Comments: There is a learning curve. The invoicing and accounting system is a bit complex and difficult to explain to clients. Overall, information is easy to find is easy to find, transferring patients and clients is simple. Definitely a useful program.

Pros:

The amount of customization available is helpful, information on patient visits is organized and easily acessed, adding documents is simple and fast

Cons:

Some processes are time consuming like boarding check in/out and the addition/subtraction of services once they have been sent to invoice.

Comments: Very good, every time I call for customer support they are extremely helpful!

Pros:

The ease of use. Finding medical records, inputting information, etc. is very easy.

Cons:

Need more options for mass updating inventory/labs/services. Would work better if it was laid out like an editable spreadsheet. It is clunky to have to click edit on each item, edit, then save and close before moving on.

Maybe Not...

Comments: At first I was excited to switch over to it, I felt like Covetrus would listen to us and make changes that people would want and use. But it's apparent that the reporting isn't being improved, we need to continue to pay Covetrus more to fully utilize Pulse for what we wanted it for (which I thought we were already paying for) and it doesn't fully integrate with many other beneficial services which is limiting to practices. We are seriously considering moving away from Pulse.

Pros:

The possibility of what it could do and how it could integrate with purchasing, reminder systems, payment systems, etc.

Cons:

It doesn't integrate well with other systems/services, the reporting is difficult and inaccurate, there is a pay wall to utilize wellness plans and it's reporting without using the paid service of Care Plans, and there are still so many clunky, difficult processes that you need tech support with that really shouldn't be this difficult.

Pros:

The ability to utilize the software away from office

Cons:

Not good software for boarding and grooming facilities. Too many steps. Not user friendly at all. I still cannot select more than one pet in a family for any services. You have to select each pet and make a reservation or grooming appointment. We are so busy and this is very time consuming. Really super unhappy that the integrated credit card service does not have a tip line on the terminal (I am not asking a person prior to running the cc if they want to tip). Your software was highly recommended by your sister comany Impromed. We used their software for 20 plus years - they have excellent software for boarding/grooming-you might take a look see at it for "enhancements". We were at the point where we had to buy a new server from Impromed and after talking to their sales team we felt like we should give Pulse a try. We regret not staying with Impromed. After all the time we have invested switching over we are sticking with Pulse because we've been told over and over the boarding module will be improved and that you are actively working on it. I am really beginning to wonder. So again, not a great review. You have the potential for sure but it's frustrating working with Pulse software.

Pulse needs to be more like Avimark

Comments: As time goes on I’m not getting as frustrated with it. So I guess good.

Pros:

I like that it is cloud base and I can access it from home.

Cons:

It takes two many clicks to get what I’m looking for. On the checkout part the reminders should be on that screen. And the reminders should be color coded just like it is in Avimak. It needs to be more like Avimark. There should also be a rescheduled button so you don’t have to cancel the appointment and go back into the medical record to make new appointments. It’s just a lot of back and forth.

Comments: Tough to transition from Avimark to Pulse but once you get the hang of it many things are actually easier.

Pros:

Refilling prescriptions is much easier, and the price tag option is very nice for quick price comparison.

Cons:

Prescription labels had many issues with printing correctly, and learning the system was a challenge it is much easier now, but I would like if there was an easier way to search a patients medical history. Like a search bar where you could find certain words like exam without having to scroll through the whole history.

Practice management software that will bring your clinic into the digital age.

Comments: Overall, we would recommend Covetrus Pulse to any practices looking to get more of their records online and have a more cohesive and comprehensive practice management system.

Pros:

We love how user friendly Covetrus pulse is and how much information we can store on all of our clients and patients. The software's interface makes it easy for us to train new employees and veterinarians on the program which saves us time. We love how detailed the records are of patients and clients, and that we're able to integrate lab results and documents into the files. Covetrus Pulse allows us to have a very comprehensive compilation of medical files and client history all in one spot, which is easy to navigate and work with.

Cons:

As an equine only practice, we found there were some features that had limitations and made it difficult for us to set up. We had a lot of difficulties with inventory for example, as the program seemed to be tailored more to small animal practices. We did find some regular glitches with the software and often had to call their tech support. Customer service was overall usually quite helpful.

Comments: I would not use it again. I would look for a more friendly service.

Pros:

Cloud-based and reasonably simple to learn.

Cons:

Very Glitchy, Customer service is often next to useless. We are not in compliance with Lizzie's law because of the inability to download a pdf into a template that can be attached to invoice items. I have reached out multiple times and get the same lame response... "We don't offer that at this time" or something to that effect.

Ok but not great

Pros:

I like the ease of navigating patient and client accounts, ordering tests, and entering medical notes.

Cons:

It is SLOW and glitchy extremely often and when contacting tech support there is never any resolution or meaningful steps forward. Invoicing and payment management is hard to use and difficult for clients to understand on statements. Integration with DYMO is limited to certain not easily found models. Integration with some outside services (radiology for example) is pretty limited or nonexistent.

Comments: My overall experience has been fine. I originally looked at Shephard and then found it could not manage inventory well. Pulse has similar issues, but the work around was better. I feel pulse can continue to evolve and function more completely for practices.

Pros:

It is cloud based, the support related to the software is good, it is easy to use

Cons:

the integrations don't work welli can't see the medical record while charting, It is helpful for me to be able to see the charge line items because I enter all that information into my charting. I have my exam form set up so that all components of SOAP are in the exam. This way when I show a previous exam record all information is there.

Pros:

Covetrus Pulse allows for multiple integrations that are of immense important to our practice. This streamlines our workflow.

Cons:

Reporting is incredibly slow. I understand that most cloud based systems takes time to pull data however most of the time my reports time out. It is frustrating and time consuming. Also, since Covetrus has taken over from E-Vet, it has felt like there is a lot less support. I have had to leave messages and sometimes it takes a day or so to get back to me. When it was E-Vet, I was always able to get someone on the phone to resolve my issue right away. That being said, the staff with support is still knowledgeable but it feels like there is a lot less of them.

The only thing we like about Pluse is that we can pull it up at 2 different offices.

Positive experience with Covetrus

Comments: My overall experience is very good, I really like the product and it is constantly changing for us to have better record keeping, allows us to communicate with the client in several forms and is attached to the MR.

Pros:

Very easy to use, has many tools that are very helpful to contact and keep communication with the clients, it is icloud based so I can access my MR anywhere, and much more.

Cons:

The system is not always accessible, for a while it was replicating the same Medical note, lately when you save and release it asks you to leave the site, and in previous occassions I had troubles because the MR was not being saved. Don't like that I cannot lock my MR after finishing them.

Great software

Comments: I'm satisfied overall and find Pulse easy to use. The original person who set up the system entered vaccines in incorrectly and it has caused us a mess with reminders but that is on us and customer service has been very helpful. I wish the anesthesia monitoring and exam forms allowed for entering letters/text as well as numbers in certain areas. Example: being able to put in UTO, DNO, seconds, etc. I have yet to deep dive into templates, though, so I'm not sure if it is user error or setup. Again, customer service is excellent.

Pros:

Easy to use and learn, instant access to chat and troubleshooting, great customer service.

Cons:

Exam and anesthesia monitoring templates

Comments: FAIR TO GOOD - EASY TO GET AROUDN IN BUT DOES NEED SOME CHANGES AND ADD ONS

Pros:

easy to figure out and navigate, but does need some things to be changed/updated.

Cons:

You cant change in the check out the billing's doctor in 1 click must click and change every singe item in invoice individually. Also need to add a rabies vaccine expiry to be automatic applied on certificates (actual product expiry - NOT pet expiry)

Cons:

Reminders system is not streamlined; there is no drop-down menu & employees can put whatever they want when inputting reminders.

So Disappointed

Comments: CSR are great. We always seem to stump them. I think it’s at its infancy and we are paying the price or R&D.

Pros:

Integration with inventory but unfortunately that only happens if you ask for it and even then inventory item descriptions have to match up exactly or it doesn’t work.

Cons:

So so so much clicking. Medical records need to be simpler. So many options to get to different aspects but can’t get there from all aspects of the medical records.

Functional program but needs major help on financial side

Do Not Use

Comments: We have had more issues and have submitted more support tickets than I ever have for any other software...

Pros:

Nothing, the only benefit is that it is cloud based

Cons:

Everything, this system is EXTREMELY outdated, it is not intuitive and is not worth any amount of money. The system does not work well in today's world.
