Reviews of Unleashed
A smooth on-boarding
Pros:
On boarding was a relatively simple process. I have no experience in setting up new systems but this was smooth and if I got stuck at any point, the Unleashed on boarding team was super helpful. The support team (via email) have had a remarkably fast response time and have been great in responding to any issue I have had since! Training our small team to use the software was quick and easy and the team find it easy to use. The unleashed software puts some barriers in place that can be annoying (e.g. need a purchase order for every purchase/need to raise a credit relating to an order) but this all leads to a super accurate inventory! Reports showing margins and split down by sales person or department have been brilliant for tracking and reporting to directors. The Xero Integration is wonderful and one of the main reasons we looked into using Unleashed.
Cons:
A lot of our stock we buy from our sister company which means that the inventory is not 'in stock' this means we need to do a purchase order for ever sales order which is quite some extra work. Also you have to pay for phone support on my plan which I feel sometimes I just need whenI need to sort something - but we don't pay and the email support has been great so it's not a big deal! :)
Unleashed Review
Comments: Ability to integrate with bar-coding and inventory tracking hardware
Pros:
Assembly of materials especially the auto-assembly feature saves a lot of time I also like the availability of a mobile app making approval & completion of sales orders super efficient
Cons:
Lack of core accounting capabilities unless cannot be connected to banks and also the software randomly renders pages incorrectly
Product mis-sold, refund refused. Very disappointed.
Comments: We’re very disappointed with Unleashed. Given the reviews on this site, and others, we had assumed that they were a reliable & safe company to do business with. This has turned out not to be the case.Having assumed that a search functionality would exist in such a well reviewed solution, we had subscribed and then later found it to be lacking during the "setup" process. We decided not to continue with our setup process as it was clear to us that the solution had been mis-sold on this functionality, and it was highly unlikely that this would be a quick or easy fix for the technical team. Unleashed's own sales team accepted that this was the case.At this point, a cancellation and refund was in order... but no. Unleased have refused to offer a refund (either in full or part) and have ceased to engage even in conversation on the matter. At the VERY least we expect to be refunded the £629+VAT paid for the Flightpath B product, which gave us access to our "Customer Success Consultant", who by very definition has provided nothing of the sort.Ultimately, Unleased have walked away with a significant sum of cash and provided absolutely nothing in return of benefit to our business. I would strongly caution prospective clients against signing up for anything from Unleased until you are ABSOLUTELY SURE it's the product for you. They will make no attempt to offer a refund, even when it is clear the product is of no use to your company whatsoever.
Pros:
SaaS software that can be accessed from anywhere... unfortunately, it's still useless.
Cons:
This company is designed to get you signed up as quickly as possible and then refuse refund you a single penny when it turns out the product is not as described and of zero use to your business. On a point of functionality, I would advise all potential clients to look very closely at the "search" system when inputting orders using Unleased. It requires you to type the exact product title, ensuring that you don't make any errors, even in the order of the words provided. Given our catalogue features at least 45,000 SKUs and would contain many more in the future, this was completely unacceptable.
Unleashed Software Response
last year
Hi Joe, we're sorry you had a bad experience with Unleashed. We pride ourselves on being transparent about whether our software will meet a business's needs. Frankly, it avoids situations like this that we could've avoided. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention. We will use the feedback to make us better moving forward. If you need help with anything else, feel free to contact with the team. Thanks. The Unleashed Team
Unleashed support is exceptional with the team going to all lengths to resolve issues and queries.
Pros:
Unleashed is logical in its use and the design means it is easy to find everything. It has the functionality to cover most business operations. The pricing is good and I like that Premium Support is required for just four months. Most clients have their operational queries sorted by then. It provides clear and concise information about product sales. The integration with Shopify saves so much time as orders don't need to be manually entered. This is a great feature with businesses moving more online.
Cons:
The removal of negative inventory. Most clients require this feature even if just to overcome timing of getting new stock arrivals recorded. It's somewhat inflexible when purchase orders have been placed and invoice arrives with a different purchase price. The item prices cannot be amended. The Dashboard sales figure is based on sales order completion date rather than sales order actual date. This creates a discrepancy in sales between Unleashed and Xero.
Making our lives easier and more productive
Pros:
Unleashed made it so much easier for us to do away with the 5 different spreadsheets and allowed us to accuratelt manage our complex supply chain and importantly free up a lot of my time. When mixed with Xero I feel very confident in the financial and management reports we produce. We're much more productive as a business because of it.
Cons:
Although the software does well at adapting to the majority of our business needs there are a few requirements that we don't have a good work around for. Mainly, we sell our beer in our own kegs that we need to keep track of. There is no easy way of keeping track of which kegs go to which customer and also when they have been returned.
Unleashed works and is the only option for inventory if using xero.
Pros:
Works and is easy to use. I have recommended it to several customers wanting more inventory control than xero provides.
Cons:
Missing a few key features that seam so obvious. You can't see the customers name when looking at sales of a product in the product or quotes. I would use this daily. We don't have the ability to mass delete quotes so the system is clogging up with old quotes. Many customers require multiple quotes unfortunately you have to open each one to delete it.
Good Program and super easy to use
Pros:
very easy to use and really easy to train new staff (2hrs max) good reporting and integrations with other programs. we integrate it with 3 other programs and the team love it.
Cons:
Some of the reports would benefit with more options or the option to slice & dice more, sometimes we have to download info and do it on excel to get what we need. having said that, some of the reports we use are typically found in companies with revenue of 50m+ so most users may not have this issue.
Brilliant Transparency
Comments: As a company, we needed to see what our pain points were with inventory, and prior to Unleashed, we didn't have concrete evidence to prove our thoughts. With Unleashed, we now have the quick and easy ability to see what's going on, and make informed decisions to allow for higher efficiencies and greater understanding of our inventory life cycle. Serial number tracking is essential for us, and Unleashed has provided that option, which ensures all serial numbers are entered in a mandatory fashion which closes the loop. Danielle was a great support for us in pushing forward, thank you for all your efforts!
Pros:
Customer support, reporting, purchasing, serial number tracking.
Cons:
Transparency between purchase orders and sales orders. In sales orders, I'd like to be able to see what products have been ordered, and how many. Also, having multiple expected delivery dates would be good on the same PO.
We've been using Unleashed now for almost 12 months and we are generally happy with our decision
Comments: True stock control and seamless invoicing integration with XERO
Pros:
It's militant about recording data. That's a good thing. You can't "fudge" the numbers. The interface is beautiful and a good deal of the functionality works well. For the money it's still our pick and we are glad we made the jump. Connects with XERO pretty much perfectly.
Cons:
Documentation and higher level support, particularly when it comes to API integration. We did eventually get there... but there's a resistance to "unleash" their higher level support staff. There are still a number of gaping holes in some of the workflow and logic, but this is being improved upon constantly. The speed of the system could also do with some help... which hopefully some of the new money will go towards.
Fast customer service!!
Pros:
Been using Unleashed a few years now, Love the speed at which customer support helps, dealt with one of the customer representative today and he solved the problem instanty, and fast. He da man!!!!
Cons:
Taking the time to learn it lol but customer support is great when you just cant nut it out. their online help is great though. think the only thing i would suggest is being able to alter invoices after they are completed.
The pick of the bunch
Comments: Unleashed has taken our clients to the next level. When implemented well there are no complaints about functionality or features. The support is fantastic, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] have been particularly helpful and always come back to us with accurate helpful responses within a short timeframe. The team are incredibly responsive to feature requests.
Pros:
Unleashed is a fantastic software which is constantly evolving and adapting to the needs of the users.
Cons:
It would be useful if there was a wider range of integrations with other products, however the ones that do exist, work extremely well.
Outstanding, robust piece of software
Comments: The team is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Combined with a solid platform, our experience has been outstanding.
Pros:
Unleashed (and the designers behind it) are outstanding. It is focused and the team has managed to get the basics right - solid and reliable inventory management, a simple and easy to use interface, responsive and fast. We find quotes, sales orders, purchase orders, and reports easy to use. Every part of the software has careful thought behind it - and it has guided us as an electronics manufacturer during our expansion. The ability to have a perpetual inventory has transformed how we manage our accounts and allowed us to make better decisions about prices and margins. The ability to add serial numbers, and the interface between Xero and Unleashed, is great.
Cons:
It might be useful to be able to merge customers where there are duplicates. It might also be useful to be able to split large customers (e.g. a care home group with 100 + homes) into different subdivisions of the main account - although this is probably straying outside the inventory management purpose of the software. At the moment, we just select the appropriate delivery address from the drop-down which works fine - but it would be nice to be able to add notes under a particular site (e.g. a technical note).
Unleashed Software Review
Comments: Outstanding. We went live with Xero and Unleashed on October 1, 2018. We chose both on the basis of their respective features, and the tight integration. As a side note, we also went live with Gusto for the same reasons. I believe what has distinguished each application is the ease of use, and the tight alignment with theory and practice. Regarding Xero and Unleashed, we hold separate weekly Management Team and Operations Team meetings using each application's Dashboard to review the business results and activity. Both apps reporting are extremely facile for instant drill-down variance analysis. I would offer that organizationally, at a management level, Xero and Unleashed have dramatically improved our business acumen while increasing our business IQ twenty points, or more. Both apps (and Gusto too) are incredible values relative to what they offer, provide, and what we pay. If you're serious about change and improving your business, I recommend you start with Xero, Unleashed - and if you're unhappy with your payroll provider, Gusto.
Pros:
Ease of use, theoretical correctness, and tight integration with Xero, our accounting and financial reporting software. A differentiator was also the training videos and online support. A benefit we've discovered after implementation is the outstanding email and phone support.
Cons:
Unleashed does not account for RMA (return material authorization) transactions.
Basic Inventory Software & Cold Customer Service
Comments:
When we found a superior inventory management solution (www.cin7.com) we gave our notice to Unleashed to close our account, prior to the next billing cycle. Unleashed informed us they would bill us another month's payment as it was buried in their terms and conditions. This was despite me bringing to their attention that their website stated in their FAQ "While we’ll be very sad to see you go, you can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing [email protected]" (they have subsequently updated their website, but steadfastly refused to waive this unfair extra fee.)
When I asked for Unleashed management to intervene, no one from management responded. Hopefully I can help others avoid a similar fate. My gift to other business owners out there is this... do not sign up with Unleashed until you have review/assessed Cin7. Cheers
Pros:
It is online software (SAAS) so it is accessed via internet and therefore much more convenient to access/maintain than PC based software.
Cons:
Too basic for the needs of a serious retail business. (we have over 5000 products) Reports are limited and Purchase Order creation in particular has no 'smarts'. i.e. when you add an item to a PO, you would like to know how many you already have on order, how many you have a hand, how many have sold in the last month? Not possible on the PO screen in Unleashed. Also no direct integration with 3PL warehouses. For these and many other reasons we spent most our time using spreadsheets which defeats the purpose of specialist inventory management software in my opinion.
Finally great customer service from [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]
Comments: Until recently we have had issues with the reporting and invoicing but now after working with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] from customer service we have everything sorted.
Pros:
We have found Unleashed to be very reliable.
Cons:
The fact that it doesn't have forecasting.
Amazing Inventory Software
Comments: Outstanding!
Pros:
Unleashed does everything we need and is the centre of our business apps.
Cons:
There is a lot of options when creating a sales order. It would be nice if the UI was given a refresh to hide some of the less-often used options.
Great customer support
Pros:
We have recently worked through a stock adjustment issue with Ivan. It took several emails back and forth but we got there in the end. Ivan was great, following the issue through with us to a satisfactory result.
Cons:
Unleashed is quite pricey. Also it lags at times which can be frustrating. It would be great to be able to log emails sent to customers and suppliers (in the same way Xero does in HIstory).
Don't think about it, just do it.
Pros:
Unleashed is nothing short of amazing. We deal with importing goods from continents all over the world all batched in varying volumes, which was a total headache. We went from 15+ spreadsheets to something so slick it has greatly reduced my time needed. In fact, when I added up the time to manage the spreadsheets it totalled 248hrs per year. Learning the terminology was a bit tricky, to begin with, and with our many bulk products breaking down to smaller units it took a while to get everything into the system but with the help of the unleashed team and the training program, I have everything in the system running and I would not look back. I only wish I did it sooner. Don't think about it, just do it.
Cons:
Terminology is a bit hard to figure out if you are new to this field. It would be great if there was an android based app as well! You can use the site online but its not as slick as the iphone app.
Intro to unleashed
Comments: very good so far and keen to learn more about what it can do for our business
Pros:
Ive only started using the software and so far I am impressed with what it can do. Having entered into a company with 5 existing users its been hard to interrogate the system - but with help from [SENSITIVE CONTENT] I have been able to make it work for me and my role. The tutorials are also very helpful and these are easily locate don the website. Im still learning everyday about unleashed and what it can do .....
Cons:
The Vision setting doesn't seem to read inventory very well - it can show sales figures but doesn't show inventory by unit so that's disappointing but I'm still working through it all and hope in 6 months time that I will be using the software to its full potential - I need more assistance with forecasting so that might need a add on package which I guess for cost purposes could be a con but I haven't quite got that far yet.
Good for inventory, not so good for manufacturing
Pros:
The inventory management (the core of the software) is great. It enables easy management of sales, purchases, and control of stock.
Cons:
The manufacturing side of the software (bill of materials etc) is not good. You can't relate a BOM to a sales order or a customer when you print out the BOM to be manufactured. The reporting side of the software is not good either - it's hard to get stock reports that include assembled items.
Alternatives Considered:
Good ERP software
Comments: We used the software to manage, store, ship, and process all the goods we have in our warehouses across the country. The barcoding features helped us a lot in that.
Pros:
All the features related to barcoding: the software provide all what we need of them: Barcode scanning, printing and recognition and the RFID is a plus.
Cons:
The lack of accounting; automatic billing and 3PL Management.
Great software, not so great customer service
Comments: When I first signed up for a trial, everything went well. I received a phone call to discuss my needs and things were generally going well. I work for a non-profit so a discount was required for us to afford Unleashed. They quoted us a price and we were pleased to continue down the path. However, after we received the quote, we have not heard back from them after several calls/emails. We're now looking for something similar that will meet our needs at our price point.
Pros:
Software is intuitive and flexible. Technical support was knowledgeable and helped us through our specific needs. iOS app is a plus.
Cons:
Unresponsive sales team. iOS app only has sales order functionality.
Unleashed Software Response
Hi there, We're sorry to hear you've not had the response you wanted, especially since it sounds like your experience with the software and with our company as an NGO has been overall quite positive. (As an aside, you are correct about our iPhone app; at this point it is strictly a sales app, but with the ability to check customer, product and inventory details on the go.) We'd really like to give you the contact and support you need - could you get in contact with [email protected] or call us on one of our global phone numbers listed on www.unleashedsoftware.com and outline your concerns? We're sorry to have you let you down, and we'd very much like to rectify this with you and find out what occurred so we can improve our services in future. Kind regards, The Unleashed Team
Easy to use but a few nit pick things to improve on.
Pros:
Sales history and love "average landed cost" pricing. I like that more than one person can use the software on different computers.
Cons:
Would love to have the feature that will advise if emails have failed to send/email is wrong. Xero has this feature and it is great but when emailing from unleashed, we never know if the email has gone through or bounced back and when we chase up outstanding accounts, clients advise us that they have never received the invoice in the first place. Please install this feature asap. About 2 years ago I sent in a submission for this feature and nothing has been done about it. When talking to support I wasn't the only one to ask.
Excellent
Pros:
Unleashed looks really simple and clean on the dashboard area, but it actually covers all relevant functions from the very beginning steps of a business (Quote & purchase) to the final steps (Sales & returns). Every single functions are handy and easy to learn. The "Support" page are clear and helpful with both written and video instructions. Also, I have to say that the support team are highly experienced and helpful, problems and questions are able to solved effectively.
Cons:
When entering the delivery address in a sales order, we have "address line 1 & 2" and "suburb" column. The address can be seen clearly on the invoice, but always missing the "suburb" area in the "packing list". For example, I enter "20 Starr Avenue" in "Address Line 1" and "North Plympton" in "Suburb" and leave the "Address Line 2" blank, it will only show "20 Starr Avenue" on the "Formal Packing List" with no suburb underneath. But the suburb will finally be seen on the Invoice. However, if I enter "North Plympton" in both "Address Line 2" and "Suburb", it can be seen on the Packing list, but will appear twice on the Invoice. It seems the only solution is to leave the "Suburb" area blank and always put the suburb name into the "Address Line 2"....Then, the "Suburb" column will turn out to be really useless.
The product improved with every upgrade Unleashed have created.
Comments: On-line operation, affordable cost, reliable solid performance
Pros:
The improvements to 'Customer Pricing' made a significant difference to the user experience. Coming away from spreadsheets for customer price records was a big step forward. Especially, being able to view all the 'Customer Pricing' on one screen.
Cons:
'Customers' still needs further improvement in some areas. For example, to be able to view an expanded view of customer orders (past and current) when using the 'Orders' tab view in 'Customers'. Currently, obtaining details of a previous order is too lengthy a process while a customer is waiting on the telephone.
