The system every Private Dining Sales person has been waiting for!

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: I had the pleasure of being introduced to Tripleseat at a previous job, and that company unanimously agreed for all of the concepts to make the switch to their program. It was better than the other options out there at the time, and made the most sense. After working with everyone while being at that company, I brought them on board to my current employer. Their sales team, support team, training team, all of them, are so friendly, and helpful! There is no question too small, or request too large to be considered.
I am a big fan, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new booking system in a heartbeat.

Pros:

My favorite part of TripleSeat is that everything makes logical sense, and is able to be customized to your needs. When inputting the information, you don't have unnecessary steps in order to get your basic needs into the system. If I have a brand new manager who only gets a date, time, number of guests, and the host's contact info, they can (within minutes) get them a contract. At the very least they can send them an email with menus and instead of loosing a sticky note, have it tracked so I can follow up. Truly this was made for the Sales person in mind, with how the data is tracked, and how much time it saves.

Cons:

My only wish for the software, was that it would allow for you to track correspondence directly with a contact and not having it connected to an event. There doesn't seem to be a way to pull up someone who is in your data base, and just send them a prospecting email, or share with them updated menus or promotions. You have to export their contact information and email, or use a previous event.

Tripleseat - Triple Threat: Organization, Communication, Efficiency

5.0 last month New

Comments: I won't consider taking a job at a venue that DOESN'T use Tripleseat - it is a fantastic product!

Pros:

I love the automated tasks that keep me organized so I don't have to rely on my memory or handwritten lists to keep track of hundreds of tasks. I also love the discussion templates as they give me the ability to communicate quickly with clients, and I can see when they have opened/read my messages.

Cons:

There isn't a lot of downsides, but a couple of improvements I would love to see: - Drop down options for declining a lead (helps simplify reporting) - More CRM abilities within Contacts such as tracking touchpoints, notes, in person tours, sending gifts, etc.

Extremely bad customer service, buggy software

1.0 7 years ago

Comments: Even though we gave them notice of cancellation after about 9 months they have twice charged our card for renewals which are not valid.

Pros:

Generally the contract feature was fine. We liked executing contracts on line even though the contract tool did not have all of the client info required

Cons:

Regarding our disappointment with Gather I would point to the following – all of which I have reflected to your support people and none of which have been acted on: Your IOS app seems to be able to send messages to clients and it does seem to be able to send templates but not free-form messages. Yet it often leads the user to believe a message has been sent when it has not About 45 days ago new inquiries stopped showing up in your new messages list – your support people insisted this was not a change but it was. It seems logical that new leads would be the most important new messages I asked you to make all the numbers and metrics on your Home page hyperlinked, but you have not. If I see I have two new leads I can click on that number and it takes me to the new leads. If I see I have one new contract signed, the numeral “1” is not hyperlinked and I have to search for the new signed contract. It is difficult or impossible to add a second client contact name but in the wedding business it is pretty normal to have at least two client counterparties. Yes I know about the “onsite” contact but that is not a default email recipient. Look at the confusion that appears in some proposals. Your proposals are not properly itemized and clients do not seem to notice that I have attached a “BEO” which is not a term I could define for you. Look at both “xxx” and “xxx” as examples of proposals where they thought we got the price wrong but they don’t see the security deposit because it is not itemized in the proposal. It is completely ridiculous that the client could sign an e-contract without being forced to enter and validate their address, phone, full and correct name, etc. Our normal course is we get a contract signed and then we chase down the additional information required to actually have a contract with the Zenith Additional Information form. This is cumbersome and probably not legally defensible. I want the client to execute the contract having filled in and validated their complete contact info

TRIPLESEAT FOREVER

5.0 3 weeks ago New

Comments: I started using tripleseat at my new venue and have never looked back. If not the usefulness for communication, but the reporting, the payment software, everything. It makes event management so much more streamlined and organized.

Pros:

I love how organized Triplseat keeps me. I can do communication, contracts, payments, and follow up on leads all within the same platform. It was a game changer.

Cons:

I think because the platform is SO useful, there are little tweaks on things I would love to add. I think I would love a draft option for if you start an email and exit out of the page.

I LOVE TRIPLESEAT

4.0 last month New

Comments: I absolutely love tripleseat so much that I've applied to work there multiple times. I've only used 1 other booking system, but Tripleseat is by far the best one I've seen. I don't know how I would do my job without tripleseat!

Pros:

It is very user friendly. Love the reporting aspect of it.

Cons:

The email system. Lots of bounced emails. Almost all of our emails from tripleseat end up in spam or junk folders, so we probably have missed a ton of leads because of that.

I heart TS all day, every day!

5.0 last month New

Comments: Overall, I absolutely ADORE Tripleseat! I have been so impressed with this company since I first started using it in 2013. I've since implemented it in 4 venues I've opened.

Pros:

Tripleseat has been a fantastic product from the very beginning, but has never rested on their laurels and continually adds features & improves their offerings! Also, extremely fast to respond and so helpful!! (This part might be my favorite!)

Cons:

The new items layout in selecting from the picklists in my documents. The quantity & price boxes are entirely too wide. The overall new look just feels clumsy and antiquated. Also, once you've selected the items, when you got to modify them, the item box moves a little and is frustrating.

Carnegie Library Special Events loves Tripleseat!

Comments: We have had an extremely positive experience. The online tutorials makes it super easy to train new employees.

Pros:

Tripleseat is very user-friendly and supports our events operation with easy to read documents and a great color-coded calendar. The online portal is fantastic- clients sign contracts and pay their invoices while I am sleeping! Their support staff is extremely responsive and helpful- they get a 20 out of 10!

Cons:

We really have no complaints. The program is very efficient and well supported.

LOVE Tripleseat!

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Tripleseat helped me almost double my sales in one year, just from taking me a way from my color-coded sticky note and hard-copy calendar system. It makes it easier to take vacations and leave the other managers with clear instructions of what they need, communicate with my team and client at the same time so everyone is on the same page, etc. I also work from home most of the time so my Chef and GM have access to all of the BEO's and client information so they can see everything without me having to be there to bring it to them. Overall I love it!

Pros:

I'll start out by saying that I'm a one woman operation. I'm the only one in our restaurant that sells, details and facilitates all of our events, plus plans all of our in-house events, plus managing the actual restaurant side...so I have a lot to do! Tripleseat makes my job exponentially easier and more streamlined. One of my favorite things is that they listen to their users. Every month there is something updated that makes it that much butter, and their customer service is fantastic. They've also started hosting events so you can get hands on training, meet the team, etc. I love that!

Cons:

There are a lot of features that I don't use being one person in one unit. It would be nice if there were different tiers of pricing based on the parts you use and those you don't (like a Tripleseat Lite vs. Tripleseat Multi-Unit). That's about it!

Alternatives Considered: Gather and Caterease

Reasons for Switching to Tripleseat: We liked the interface better and thought the systems they used were more in tune with what we needed.

Pros:

Cons:

Event Planning, Booking & Invoicing Made Easy!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: TripleSeat is the bee's knees when it comes to event booking software. As an Event Manager, this was my bible!

Pros:

Everything from leads, inquiries, messaging, booking, menu planning, proposals, BEOs, calendar.

Cons:

They are a little behind in online forms. Proposals, contracts and credit card authorization forms all send as a PDF that clients have to print off and sign or have Adobe in order to sign electronically.

Pros:

I like how triple seat make it as easy to convert leads and keeps all of your event planning organized for each event. Extremely easy to send documents and contracts. They even hosted a meeting and a local class to help new client's.

Cons:

Indispensable Program!

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: The customer service team is always very efficient and timely as well as friendly. We couldn't run our business without Gather. Earlier in our development we considered other software geared toward events, but they seemed to specialize on only one aspect or two at a time. With Gather we can customize our menu making it so easy for our whole team to update a proposal at any given moment.

Pros:

Our team loves how each client has his/her own customer portal. It is fairly easy to change any details at any time. It is also imperative for us to be able to send an approval request to each client at the time of solidifying details for an event. Really helps us to ensure our team can execute the event flawlessly.

Cons:

We wish that Gather was able to track any changes made by one of our team members so that when a change occurs, we can know exactly who made it and why... Or that there was specific place for a team member to track changes in the portal. Also, we wish that there was a way to approve each specific section instead of just an over all proposal. Our clients are dealing with TONS of wedding details (not always through us) and they have a lot on their minds.

Alternatives Considered: Total Party Planner

Reasons for Switching to Tripleseat: See above.

Tripleseat review & comments

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Tripleseat has grown with us at the rate we are able to understand and make positive advances with the software. They are allways available for discussion and help. My overall experence is we get very comfortable & professional service from Tripleseat.

Pros:

I'm not at all a pro but so the ease of use is very important. The software was not designed originaly for my type of use, I'm a movie theater with special events. However it has been curved to be able to offer me everything I require to keep track of my special events. The calendar is esential for the number of events we have as each new movie release generates a new special event be it birthday parties or receptions and sometimes just a movie only seat reservation. Each style has to be noted and written up using the software to outline for each department in the Theater. The ability to arrange the many buckets we use to otline an event form the original set-up, as our understanding of the software increases is great.

Cons:

Having to update each time changes are made to see how it will look onl the BEO is a little challenging. Then to view any changes I have to open up the BEO to see how it looks/fits etc. It would be nice to have a real time view/function of some sort to be able to see what someting looks like without having to udate first.

Tripleseat after 1 Year

4.0 6 years ago

Comments: Training was quick and easy and support has been extremely good. The transition did pose some problems, as trying to make our systems fit into Tripleseat took some true trying and testing, and it seems we're still making changes. But overall it feels like a good fit. Anxious to explore the new reporting platform!

Pros:

Accessibility. We'd previously used another catering software which needed to be accessed via an interface, which took time and was often frustrating with spotty wifi. Also, the platform is completely web-based, so accessing it on a PC or a Mac device is easy.

Cons:

The fact that merged documents are .pdfs. It would be so much better if documents, such as contracts and/or especially Banquet Event Orders could be merged to .Word docs, which may be edited (page breaks!) after merging. It's supposed to be views on a screen, rather than printed, but our Chefs still require everything printed, so it's a hassle going back and forth between the document and the print/screen.

Tripleseat has made my job so much easier!

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: Ease of doing my job, tons of time saved.

Pros:

The best feature in Tripleseat is the ability to make a change once, to multiple documents. This saves so much time and energy! I love the ability to completely customize the program itself, too. Reporting has never been easier. Simply select what you want to see, then generate. Their helpdesk staff are incredible as well--very speedy and informative. Overall, could not do my job without this software system!

Cons:

The only downside is not being able to print calendars. I do understand the reason though--Tripleseat is meant to be current and up-to-date at all times. Once you print the calendar it is no longer accurate, essentially. However, there is still a need for printed calendars in my job.

Gather changed my world

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Gather has connected communication from the inquire to the closing of the event for all involved parties. The kitchen staff has up to date menus, staff has access to all event details, custom menus, bar arrangements and closing event instructions. We are very grateful to have this software program available for all our restaurant locations

Pros:

Gather is so easy to learn and use for both hospitality staff and event hosts. It is the best tool we have for company wide event communication. Every event detail is tracked and available for your full team to execute a flawless event.

Cons:

I have no complaints about the software at all. The updates are smooth, customer service is fast, reports are easy. The credit card processing also made staying credit card compliant a piece of cake. ...I do find the team communication feature to be very confusing or unnecessary. I would like for it to integrate with Open Tables in the future.
