Hats Off To Sharepoint

4.0 last year

Comments: SharePoint is a robust platform, but it still lacks certain features that could enhance its functionality. Additionally, better native support for offline access and mobile device optimization could make it more versatile. Advanced task management and project planning tools are also features that some users find lacking, desiring more seamless integration. Lastly, stronger data analytics and reporting capabilities would be valuable for organizations seeking more in-depth insights from their SharePoint data

Pros:

SharePoint offers numerous benefits, including streamlined collaboration, centralized document management, enhanced security, and powerful integration with Microsoft 365 applications. Its ability to facilitate team communication, content sharing, and version control makes it an essential tool for boosting productivity and efficiency in organizations.

Cons:

I would like more intuitive user interfaces and simplified navigation to improve the overall user experience. The absence of intuitive user interfaces and simplified navigation in SharePoint can significantly hinder the user experience. Users may find it challenging to locate and access the features and content they need, leading to frustration and reduced efficiency. The complexity of the platform can result in longer learning curves, requiring more extensive training and support. This lack of user-friendliness can deter adoption and limit the platform's effectiveness in facilitating collaboration and document management.

Microsoft SharePoint: A Central Hub for a Microsoft Workshop

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: Overall, the experience with Microsoft SharePoint has been good. It serves as a place to manage multiple Microsoft platforms, from planning, to document storage, to Power BI. I could not imagine working in a Microsoft Workspace without it.

Pros:

Microsoft SharePoint is a central source for curating content for external and internal stakeholders in the Microsoft 365 environment. It has served me and my team well in becoming our team site and initial landing space for business developments.

Cons:

To fully embrace Microsoft SharePoint, means embracing the Microsoft Workshop. Depending on your permission, you may be able to connect to other platforms but the workaround may not be worth it.

All Around Content Tool for Business

3.0 5 months ago

Pros:

Everyone knows how to use it and there are tons of functions in place. Basic users can advance via power automate or develop their workspaces enough to optimize productivity.

Cons:

It is clunky and loads a lot of directories within a single path making it hard to travel between spaces. External connections are buggy and users do not see updates sometimes.

Navigating Microsoft SharePoint

5.0 last month New

Comments: My experience with Microsoft SharePoint has been a mixed bag, starting with its user interface, which I found to be a bit of a maze at first, though it gradually became more intuitive. The collaboration features really shine, making it easy for teams to share documents and work together in real time, which has definitely improved our communication. I’ve enjoyed the customization options, especially when creating workflows that fit our specific needs, and the integration with other Microsoft tools like Teams has been seamless. Performance-wise, it’s mostly reliable, though there have been a few frustrating moments with downtime. The learning curve was a bit steep initially, and I did find myself relying on additional training resources to get up to speed. Thankfully, support has been readily available, which made things easier. Overall, SharePoint has had a positive impact on my productivity, and despite its quirks, I would recommend it to others looking for a robust collaboration tool.

Pros:

Its ability to store a large amount of information.

Cons:

Nothing about it has been bad so far. I have enjoyed its usage.

Sharepoint the DMS you need

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: My overall impression of sharepoint is that this system can be used very well and versatile. Due to the easy customizability, business processes can also be mapped and even various release processes.

Pros:

The integration with all other microsoft 365 products is amazing. Because everything is connected, cross-refrences can be created and linked directly. Furthermore, the link with entraid makes it possible to include a good authorization concept.

Cons:

The admin interface is currently still a bit outdated, but it is not a blocker.

Microsoft Sharepoint for the Professionals

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: I like Microsoft Sharepoint for work way better than Google Drive.

Pros:

It's very professional and easy to use. The share drive system makes it easy to store and organize files. The level of security is reassuring so that sensitive information doesn't leave sharepoint. The customization to personalize your workspace also makes it more inviting to use.

Cons:

Sometimes there is some lag when uploading files or moving files to other folders. This rarely happens, but it happens.

Working experience of 4+ years on microsoft sharepoint

5.0 4 months ago

Comments: I have been using this in all the organisations I have been. This is for collaboration mostly as we have to track the work we are actually doing, what percentage is completed, in progress and in ToDo state. Also we have a role based hierarchy that is defined which is also helpful for us, we create groups and collaborate on the work

Pros:

Its real time synchronous behaviour among multiple users accessing the file at a time. Also the encryption is another important factor for this tool

Cons:

Initial setup is complex for somebody who is naive. Its maintenance requires professionals, slightly costly you can say

Comments: SharePoint has saved me a lot of valuable time throughout my career through hosting of reports and projects.

Pros:

Hosting of projects which users can access and view from anywhere at any time, hosting eliminates emailing project work or presentation to a distribution list, ease of use.

Cons:

Took a long time to get to know all of the useful ins and outs because there's so much functionality, but have been using for years so no problem at all.

Simple, effective, but ensure you understand other elements of 365 first

4.0 9 months ago

Comments: Very simple to use and configure, there is little you can get wrong. But lesser tech minded people will use it incorrectly which can cause a lot of issues.

Pros:

Lots of controls, clean layout, native integration with others Windows products makes everything very streamlined.

Cons:

Other elements of 365 (e.g. 365 groups, Intune & Entra) will affect things like permissions etc. Be wary of which groups can access files, as you may find some users have more access than anticipated.

Sharing the Content

4.0 2 months ago

Comments: Overall, the complaints are few & far between. They really only appear once we start to edit web pages with features and functionality beyond general content display and use. But the storing of files and distribution of content is easy and seamless to whatever existing processes we have.

Pros:

SharePoint is our agreed-upon tool for posting documentation and videos out to the entire organization. Whether it's onto pages intended for only our internal coaching cohort, or sharing links to key content items with HR or Intern Comms, it's a ubiquitous tool for a very good reason. File upload time is fast, as is adding basic widgets for content display.

Cons:

Once you get past basic webpage editing, SharePoint is not always most user-friendly of tools. Fortunately, for our purposes, the basic editing abilities on pages are all that is needed. And for general file storage, it functions very efficiently.

SharePoint is great

5.0 12 months ago

Comments: Overall, SharePoint has been great and has been an incredible resource for our company to use for document sharing and collaboration, as well as reference and storage for everything important.

Pros:

Being able to stay collaborative day-to-day on the same documents my team needs to be able to view and edit is a lifesaver and makes life so much easier. The amount of time saved being able to work on documents in real time rather than sending back and forth is unmatched.

Cons:

I've noticed the SharePoint version of Microsoft Office programs are good, but sometimes lack some features you are able to use in the standard desktop app.

SharePoint has potential

5.0 7 months ago

Pros:

Sharing is mostly functionally reliable and is great for collaboration on Office 365 files.

Cons:

Sharing methods within the interface and SharePoint site navigation could be simplified or improved. Syncing with OneDrive is also a bit confusing for users. The amount of options needs to be reduced and user-friendly language for essential functions needs to be redone.
