Before Raal, getting a laptop to a new hire or pulling one back from someone who’d left honestly ate half my week. between courier quotes, customs forms, insurance, chasing tracking numbers, all of it. Onboarding surprised me the most. I set the receiver in the portal; a proper transport box arrives at the new hire’s door with packing instructions, and the device comes back to us ready for me to enroll. I’m not taping up boxes at the office anymore. Offboarding is probably where it pays for itself, though. Retrieving a Mac from someone living in another country used to be my least favorite part of the job. Now it’s a few clicks in the portal, a box lands at their door, there’s a QR code on it, and the laptop comes back to me without me ever having to coordinate with a courier. Customs being handled in the background is huge for us. Estonia to the UK, Germany, the UAE, wherever. I’m not writing commercial invoices or arguing with a broker anymore. Insurance is included by default, too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re shipping around loaded MacBook Pros for a regulated company. The storage and redeployment side also means I’m not running a little warehouse in our office. The OPS credit model fits us well. We don’t hire at a predictable pace, so paying per action beats a flat subscription. > > **Cons**: The thing I'd love to see most is an MDM hook. There's still a small gap between "Raal delivered the device" and "device enrolled in our MDM." A webhook I could wire into our automation would close that loop nicely. Same story for HRIS. If a leaver's last day automatically triggers a retrieval, that's one less Slack thread between me and HR every time. > > Raal took one of the most time-consuming parts of my job and turned it into something I barely think about. The transport boxes are clearly built by people who've actually shipped a lot of laptops, support has been responsive when I've needed them, and the pricing fits a growing company. The biggest opportunity left is tighter integration with the rest of the IT stack. Once MDM, HRIS and IdP hooks are there, it stops being "a logistics tool" and becomes the backbone of a proper device lifecycle.
