Pros:

Very user friendly. The platform provides excellent templates for many different types of projects, a comprehensive scope of work, and accurate price estimates.

Ok Software

3.0 10 months ago

Pros:

it could certainly speed up the time spend, on quoting for standart peojects

Cons:

I don't think there are enough options for bespoke builds. The costs of materials is too time consuming to change to suit your pricing.

Detailed cost models within a short timeframe

5.0 2 months ago

Comments: We’ve been fans from the start. It’s a great platform. The odd glitch or question is quickly responded to, so great support as well. Thank you, and keep up the great work!

Pros:

Very detailed cost models within a short timeframe - ideal for understanding the feasibility of early stage design work.

Cons:

It’s difficult to criticise, because we love the platform. One area that has confused me is when two or more extension shell types are included in a cost model, whether this leads to duplication of some preliminaries that in reality would be shared - e.g. project manager / scaffold / deliver excavator. That said, sometimes a client will later ask the implication if one of these shells can be deleted from the model (e.g. roof extension / loft conversion if they can’t afford to do everything), so having a way to unlink the shells is also positive.

Supportive Team and Versatile Product with Room for Customization

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: Overall, as mentioned, BuildPartner has been incredibly supportive and communicative. They truly live up to the “partner” in their name.

Pros:

First of all, BuildPartner’s personnel are very attentive and supportive, which makes a significant difference. In terms of the product, I appreciate the versatility it offers for managing different stages of a project. A key benefit is the competitiveness of the estimates they provide, along with their fast turnaround time. Particularly with their feasibility estimates, the process feels seamless and doesn't disrupt the project's momentum.

Cons:

The only challenge I encountered was aligning their cost estimate breakdown with my own schedule of works. However, I recently discovered that the product allows for renaming and customization, and this specific translation is an area of ongoing development within the company. I’m looking forward to learning how to make better use of these features.

Great software for project cost feasibilities

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: Great support and receptive to feedback.

Pros:

Great tool to get realistic construction prices for our residential clients at the feasibility stages. Access to detailed breakdowns at the early stages give us the ability to discuss project costs with real information so our clients can make informed choices.

Cons:

There's not much to dislike, Buildpartner have been responsive to any issues we've had.

Streamlined my pricing, exactly the product I was looking for

5.0 4 months ago

Comments: For what is a complex task, your UI is very simple to use, its streamlined my processes and as I get better with it and it learns my rates and I learn it, I can only see it getting better

Pros:

As a small business without an inhouse QS build partner have revolutionised the way I price projects. It allows me to feel incredibly confident about my price and get through it far quicker than before.

Cons:

PDF download options, I want more ability to decide how my PDF comes out.

BuildPartner for small architectural practice

4.0 3 months ago

Comments: Extremely helpful custumer service, fast QS turnaround when the in-house QS service is requested, great sorting and filtering options (by stage/by area). Great features for current material and labour costings.

Pros:

Easy and intuaitive, provides good estimates at the very early stages of the project.

Cons:

Needs a wider network of contractors who are willing to use it.

A fast efficient Tool

4.0 last year

Comments: Its a handy tool to produce quick estimates that can be downloaded as a branded PDF and given straight to the customer. It is capable of doing much more but would benefit from some tutorials showing how to use it effectively, and maybe a guide on what build elements are called so they can be found easier in the database.

Pros:

I use it for estimates because I can produce a rough estimate very quickly. The tool is capable of much more than estimating but I for me personally I find the tool difficult to use and get the most out of it.

Cons:

For me I find it difficult to produce an accurate quote. It is very good at producing an estimate and will include what I deem to be an example of how the project can be built. However, all projects are different and when I try to alter the build elements to fit what I'm actually going to be doing I can't find suitable items in the database.

An accessible and valuable resource

5.0 last year

Pros:

Buildpartner is a valuable resource within the practice. It is accessible, user-friendly and gives the practice confidence when providing domestic clients with indicative costings in the early design stages.

Cons:

Buildpartner will sometimes make generic assumptions, particularly with regards to retrofit/refurbishment works, that you need to keep an eye on. If Buildpartner's assumptions are incorrect it can have dramatic implications on projected build costs.

Essential tool for small practices

5.0 last year

Comments: Very positive, its not just the product that they're offering thats excellent, its the level of service and care that comes with it. And because the price of the service is affordable, it helps me work out if projects are financially sustainable before I take them on.

Pros:

I found the program ease of use appealing. After setting up one project which took about an hour, the other projects took minutes to price. The speed of which you can get quotes for jobs is a game changer. As a small practice working on small budget projects, the price of BP means its the only financially viable way to cost jobs.

Cons:

Initially, on the higher-end jobs, for instance Listed Buildings in central london, the rates seemed a bit low. I queried it with the BP team, and they reviewed and adjusted some of the spec and in turn the estimates were pretty bang on. The level of service, and speed of answering questions is excellent.

Buildpartner pricing software

4.0 last year

Comments: Overall I am happy with the pricing software. It is very easy to create job costs with a project timeline.

Pros:

The software has built in prices. When I need advice or I need to create new tasks with costs, I use the chat feature or send an email, the quantity surveyors on the other side generate a work sheet or template for me to use. I can log into the software from any device wherever I am.

Cons:

I used a new trial service for Buildpartner to input the data to generate costs for a whole project. It didn’t really work for me. Although I can log into the software from any device, this pro can become a con when the internet service goes down.

Build Partner

5.0 last year

Pros:

Buildpartner allows us to get a better handle on building costs early in the design stages when working with on projects with our clients. It is quick and easy to build up the costs associated with a project and is so much better than relying on square metre rates.

Cons:

It's sometimes hard to find relevant things in the drop down menus when trying to customise a project. For example windows or large doors etc.

The easiest way to create outline build costs reports (fast!)

5.0 last year

Pros:

The platform is very easy to use, and it allows me to quickly put together an outline cost plan for a property renovation or extension at a much earlier design stage than I did before. Basically from a floor plan sketch design. This means I can give my clients a realistic idea of build costs at a very early stage before we've invested lots of time and money in fully developing a design. It gives us a 'sense check' we are on the right track before developing the design further. I also like the support I get from the team. If I ever have a question about using the platform, they are very proactive at getting back to me.

Cons:

Nothing immediately springs to mind. I really like the platform.

Good

Pros:

Cons:

When exporting the information gathered on build-partner, we found it to be tricky to pick and choose between what information we'd like together.

A useful product to help Clients understand the cost of their project

5.0 last year

Pros:

The automatic filling in of data to give me a head start on the cost estimate. I found that it provided an accurate approximation of costs when Tenders came in for a recent project.

Cons:

I would like the Preliminaries to be split out into another section. More options for specific materials would be useful as well.
