Manage big virtual environment!
Comments: I enjoy using vSphere every day to connect to my virtual environment. This makes my job easier when testing application security because I can run tests on multiple machines and in multiple configurations at the same time.
Pros:
I really like the reliability of vSphere. It's hard for me to remember situations when I had a problem connecting to the virtual environment or when it was unstable. Working with virtual machines and their configuration is very simple. Restoring machines to their initial state or reconfiguring them takes little time and you can focus on their effective use.
Cons:
If I were to change something in vSphere it would be the User Interface UI. Unfortunately, tab navigation and menus are not well designed and require some getting used to. Better interface planning could improve productivity and user satisfaction.
Perfect for hosting private clouds on-prem
Comments: Largley positive, but when there is an incident affecting the entire cluster, you can expect to have a bad day. For example if there are locking issues within the cluster against a fibre-channel storage array, you may need to reboot the entire cluster resulting in an outage of 100% of all infrastructure on the platform.
Pros:
The web UI makes it very easy to manage ESXi hosts and their configuration, as well as individual VM configuration. It is simple to setup an HA toplogy with numerous VMs running on a cluster of ESXi (hypervisor) hosts. DRS makes it simple to automatically migrate VMs between hosts in a cluster.
Cons:
The licencing of features is complex, and base level licences preclude feature such as storage vMotion and DRS. This should be part of the base offering. The vSphere API is a bit clunky and the SDKs available in python are quire fragmented. No infrastructure as code offerings are made as all configuration is generally done manually by clicking the mouse, or via manual CLI commands.
This is a powerful tool to virtualize datacenter
Comments: Our servers are on this platform, it allows us to control resources and migrate data to other servers without stopping the service. We have some servers in this platform as a contingency if we have any failure of one of the servers we started the contingency,
Pros:
It allows you to virtualize both Linux and Windows, you have a portal where you can see all the virtualizations, with ESxi you can have the same virtualized server with other virtual machines as a guest operating system which can be Windows or Linux
Cons:
When we use the web client, the refresh times to access data are way to slow. When we try to support VMware remotely using the client, my experience is that it is slower and slower The Web client seems to have many things that are not useful
Great software to manage virtual machines
Comments: Is great to manage virtual environment, in our case we manage servers and is great to have an easy access and control most of the stuff.
Pros:
The easy way to manage virtual machines
Cons:
Sometimes it got freeze and affects your activities
VmWare vSphere is the best
Comments: I use Vsphere daily to manage Virtual Environments. I like the interface, clean, intuitive and easy to use
Pros:
Vsphere is a must when you manage Virtual Machines / Storage and their environment. Fro the Vsphere Client Dashboard you can see all your VM, the storages and for every VM you can create/delete a new one, change the settings, do some actions such as reboot, power on/off, take (and revert) snapshots, move the VM to another node/storage, just to tell some actions you could do. Obviously you can connect to selected VM (without the need of using RDP or SSH for example). There is a lot of documentation on internet if you need information or support.
Cons:
it seems the price will increase a lot for Italy customers
Virtualization utility for cloud virtualization over WMware technology
Comments: Nice tool with modern UI and dashboard to provide configuration opportunities and monitoring across all virtualized servers.
Pros:
vSphere is utility which provides UI and API layer for WMware cloud virtualization tool. It provides configuration interface for your vApps. You are also allowed to view everything in cloud in main dashboard. In any problems there is a utility to show the console right in the server to fix the problems. You can manage permissions list and resouces to organizations.
Cons:
A bit difficult interface with lots of options and configuration. It can't be easy to set up when someone doesn't have required experience in WMware technology.
vSphere - Great Way To Virtualize Your Network
Pros:
Great for virtualizing your network and managing your network and virtual machines.
Cons:
Very expensive initial cost but annual support is not bad.
VMware vSphere Review
Comments: Been using that software for years very easy to learn and deploy
Pros:
Take one host - install 20 Virtual Machines Take a few hosts - make a redundant cluster.
Cons:
Price is high and you pay usually by cpu count.
Great Virtualization
Comments: It has been a great and reliable experience using vSphere Vmware.
Pros:
It is easy to setup and maintain virtual machines with vSphere.
Cons:
It has hardware failures that need to be addressed to keep hosts running.
VMWare vSphere
Pros:
It is a simple solution for managing VMs.
Cons:
Upgrading the software could be a little easier.
vSphere is software tah i use for VM Server
Comments: With vSphere i can control mw VM Server anytime with faster and easier
Pros:
The most i like form vSphere is the software is fast and easy to use
Cons:
There is nothing yet about vSphere that i least like
vSphere Review
Pros:
Ability to migrate virtual machines from one vsphere environment to another
Cons:
Does not provide in depth error analysis on servers that fail either due to power or network failure
Alternatives Considered:
One of the best in its class
Comments: If you would like to have a real enterprise solution for Your virtualization environment I would definitely recommend this product.
Pros:
The best part is having a full overview on dashboard and being able to monitor and troubleshoot every server easily without a few clicks.
Cons:
I can’t complain about anything since evey part has been created efficiently.
The very best Windows Server virtualizing tool!
Comments: The software is extremely powerful and reliable, just the learning curve is very steep for new comers.
Pros:
A ton of features to install and manage the virtual machines over multiple physical servers through vCentre.
Cons:
More easily accessible and freely available training materials will be beneficial. Everything is heavily priced out of common man's reach.
My experience virtualizing productivity environment for the growth of services
Comments: The opportunity to share my experience with the use of VMwaresVphere is generous because I can help other users with my recommendation or other potential clients who wish to implement a virtualized environment
Pros:
I have worked for a few years in virtualization, using virtual environments completely or mixed environments, virtual - physical, and MWware vSphere has shown me to be a hypervisor, taking full advantage of the processing capacity of each host, so taking advantage of the centralized administration that is achieved through VMware Vcenter, the large number of configurations of networks and virtual networks give an additional value to product. Likewise the use of multiple operating systems allows me to have a server farm with a variety of services to our customers to meet their needs 100%. Actually working VMware vSphere together with VMware vCenter is the greatest benefit cost advantage, since we have significant savings in terms of equipment maintenance, licensing, space saving, energy savings and man hours dedicated to supervising a physical environment as such.
Cons:
The daily work of the vSphere tool has helped me to know it and not only know its advantages and benefits but also its few weak points, however its greatest weakness may be its high cost, which for implementations in small business environments can be very difficult. of implementing since a technological infrastructure of process of a great capacity is required and the cost in the licensing would affect in an important way the cash flow, and it would be underutilized. Without the integration of VMware Vcenter 100% all the benefits of VMware vSphere would not be used. Equally, the training of the staff would also have a huge cost, even though the training by the technical staff is excellent, there is also the virtual training that gives the advantage of cost savings, however it is not as effective as in person.
Vmware Vsphere the best Hypervisor with rich features for every need
Comments: Well we have over 80% of our workloads virtualize with VMware vSphere. We haven't have a mayor issue with the virtual environment. We can optimize the investment of the infrastructure and also respond to the business needs quickly when there is need. The support it is also really great. If you have a active support, they help with any issue really quickly and with a good solution. I can sleep well knowing that the business services are support by VMware vSphere platform.
Pros:
Vmware vsphere its a really great hypervisor that can virtualize compute and storage resources right out of the box. I like the fact that you can easly manage the resources and create virtual machines in a intuitive way. The configuration of the storage connection is easy. It has great compatibility with just about any harware out there. We have at our organization more the 70 esxi host with different hardware vendors, but they all are compatible and I can migrate workloads with just a few clicks.
Cons:
Maybe the price of the licenses. If you work at a enterprise, maybe that it not a issue. But if you want to have all the cool feature, you will have to purchase the enterprise plus license. It can be a little expensive.
Virtualization? You should review vSphere!
Comments: You can install the program with very simple steps and start managing the system instantly. And without any compatibility issues. You can see and manage the servers whenever you want, and you can use many functions comfortably.
Pros:
VM vSphere , It enables the virtualization structure to be completely managed from another environment without the need for resources. Thanks to the multi-operating system support it provides, installation and configuration convenience is available. A server ip and password are enough to connect to. You can see and examine your entire structure and feel the comfort of working on the server. Moreover, you can easily provide this on any computer you have.
Cons:
In order to get maximum efficiency, our servers must have VM Tools. This is not a shortcoming, but installing extra software can be a problem.
Cloud magic wand
Comments: When comes to server virtulazation vSphere is the best hypervisor solution and so easy to manage and consolidate your servers all in one place.
Pros:
When comes to setting up new servers or managing multi servers then vSphere is the magic wand to that time consuming process. You don't have to deal with finding space on a server rack or running around with cables doing network configuration. What I love the most is it's ability to have a server up and running within few minutes and also not worry which environment it will be running on. Having to run a lot of virtual servers in the cloud also reduce energy consumption of a datacenter and in case of power outage its easy to have everything back online even with a small generator or ups system.
Cons:
As technology is constantly moving so is the vSphere and then comes the dilemma that you cant click an upgrade button and have everything updated and without losing your configuration. Also when comes to physical hardware failure, you have greater chance of losing all your sever since everything will be one container so you will also need to have some form or redundancy or backup servers or mirror server which then sort of defeats the whole point of having less hardware requirements.
Vmware vSphere is still our #1 Virtualization Software of choice
Comments: This is our go to choice of virtualization software. I think that is probably more a case of being "used to it" than its functionality over Hyper V. The tides are changing, and Vmware is going to have to keep up with the pricing and support that Microsoft offers.
Pros:
Excellent application support. Scalability Cost of licensing.
Cons:
Terrible support for licensing and licensing renewals in our region.
They're the market leader for a reason, but so many features means complicated UX
Pros:
Every feature an hypervisor can offer - widest feature set and ecosystem to deliver the most comprehensive solution. They scale very well across all parameters: Cluster size, datastore size, VM count, fault tolerance at scale Etc. Their VSAN is great for ROBO deployments, as you get a single pane of glass for all layers (compute, network, storage) HA / DRS / VSMC are all excellent tools for improving availability of the applications that drive the business.
Cons:
Every feature means a complicated GUI, with way too many nobs to turn for a small deployment. They VSAN scales poorly in terms of ROI, as more often than not you need the All-Flash VSAN, which after 2-3 copies of the data yields low capacity at double or triple the cost of the (already expensive) Flash Media. Replication is nice but again limited in scale, works great in getting data off the ROBOs to the main datacenter but not scalable enough as a DR solution
My Efficient Virtual Space
Comments:
Here is very great and thankful experience using Vmware Vsphere , My lot of work are going to Smooth and Well organised My client issues solved by my team very amazingly and fast
i think it’s very best and effective software for business and company so definitely i recommend this over any other software
Pros:
VSphere is best and most efficient platform for manging virtual machine we can easily share the physically stored machine in the data centre to our client through the Vsphere , we can access and quickly resolve the issues of client using vsphere More well oraganizly
Cons:
It’s most costly software but it provides lot of features but if you want to give suppose 20000 vms so you need to get the packages according your criteria, because each of version contains various no of vm’s such like vsphere 6.0 contain 10000 to 20000 , vsphere 7.0 contain 20000 to 30000 such like that so we need to pay accordingly our requirement so i think the price can differ and anyone can afford it for small businesses
Virtualization = VMware
Comments:
We no longer have to worry about buying new physical servers. We have 2 HPE blades chassis and 2 HPE Synergy across 4 location. VM migration between data centers is very helpful.
hardware is being utilized at almost 85% and overall cost is certainly reduced.
Pros:
I have been using VMware for almost 12 years, day to day operations had never been so easy. easy implementation and administration. we converted 95% of our server to virtual machines. My favorites features are online migration, high availability and DRS .
Cons:
I didn't and still don't like the web interface, the old Windows application prior to version 5.5 was perfect and very effective. now with the new flash based interface is dissapointing. there is another HTML5 version but it lacks some features. i am hoping that they come up with a new version these days knowing that Flash plugins will no be longer supported.
Extremely expensive but still worth it for legacy applications
Comments: vSphere revolutionized the datacenter and is still running strong after almost 30 years. Without it we might still be stuck in the stone ages without virtualization or cloud!
Pros:
vSphere has been around for a while and is trusted for it's stability and reliability. If your applications are not built to fail, if you treat yours apps like pets vs cattle, you probably want to pay for VMware vSphere. Depending on your use case, vSphere may be the only game in town. For instance, if you want to do some complicated GPU sharding, only VMware has worked with Nvidia to offer this. Certainly feature wise, this is the most robust hypervisor on the market. They also have a large ecosystem, community, and excellent support.
Cons:
The pricing is quite high and they try to justify this by including more and more management software, SDN, SDS in the overall vCloud offering. However it's still quite expensive and difficult to rationalize in smaller companies with challenging budgets. On the flip side, they have so many offerings now and have create a variety of total solutions which can fit any number of use cases.
Best Hypervisor out there
Comments: It's super easy to setup and get started, it's something that should be done in every single company I've seen in my life. Sadly, not all companies use VMs to my personal surprise. Only if they could understand how easy it is to transform your business environment with ease using VMware tools. Premium versions offer real value, so if you need more than 4-5 servers and a rock solid production environment you should invest in vSphere.
Pros:
The console, the features, the true power of a hypervisor. I use ESXi/vShpere in every chance I get. It's super-light and very easy to manage, understand. Many benefits, it's a no-brainer!
Cons:
Nothing serious, maybe it's lack of integration tools and features like copy-paste and file transfer. But really, that's something small and not needed when it comes to server use.
Great cloud platform for all type of users.
Comments: We have around 2 years of experience in vmware and we like this appication very well.
Pros:
We like many features in Vmware vshpere. HA, fault tolerance and drs are the best features in vmware.
Cons:
We dont like the alerts coming in vmware, as many are false alerts.
