Pros:

Fast interface. Easy management of multiple IFC models.

Cons:

High cost is the main disadvantage of software.

This software will only work in you have an active internet connection

3.0 6 months ago

Comments: Fantastic software but no good if I cant use it even if its installed on my own PC.

Pros:

I can clip out small areas of the BIM model and export to the Trimble TSC5 survey controller.

Cons:

After installing the desktop version , your will work out that the software wont run unless you have an active internet connection. If you need to get some critical information out of the BIM model then you are going to have a problem.

Trimble Connect for Construction Project

5.0 last year

Pros:

I like trimble connect's interface as it can identify issues such as clashes and buildability of the structural steel

Cons:

One thing that they need to improve maybe is how to measure objects. They should also add the option to measure center to center of an object.

Alternatives Considered:

Trimble Scam

1.0 last year

Comments: Appalling No notice when renewal was due, exceeded 30 days and threatened with court action when I had not cancelled 30 days beforehand - no renewal notice 30 days before renewal date though - you could call it theft but apparently its legal. Would not recommend to anyone and advise anyone I meet going forwards to avoid at all cost!

Pros:

Not a lot , don't know why we bought it, Bentley far superior product

Cons:

Slow to use and implementReports overlongInputting fields poor

A great collaboration software

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall its a good collaboration software which also supports a library of models and components that is as huge as it gets.

Pros:

Easy use for collaboration, document sharing is easy, files can be viewed online, and also can be used on mobile platform.

Cons:

Everything is online so it becomes very hard to work offline. It is still a software that is not known to many so knowledge is less.

One of the CDEs to look out for

3.0 3 years ago

Comments: Great for document sharing and with a strong 3D / cad viewer you'll be able to do with connect what others won't. The

Pros:

A very strong document management system with some unique features on the market today.

Cons:

a couple of structural flaws like user management and issue management make that the end user will not make use of the full set of tools if they are not imposed.

Make An Easy Task Easier

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Making models in Sketchup is something can be considered as easy task. Having Trimble Connect make the works way more easier because it has a large scale of libraries with so many models, extensions, and much more inside.

Pros:

The model library. I've been using Sketchup and Trimble Connect for more than 2 years, and each time I'm in a rushing project, it helps me much to get my works easier.

Cons:

It depends on internet connection. It's not every time I work in the grid, and for some reasons I can't connect to the internet on my working sites and makes the software unusable.

sharing tool

3.0 2 years ago

Pros:

This is a program where you can share your work in progress models with your subcontractors and it helps keep everyone on the project on the same page. I use it mostly for design coordination and it often gets used among the in-house team meeting.

Cons:

This is more of a design coordination tool than the construction coordination tool. You can share 3D models and drawings but because it is not as extensive as other construction document generators so we only get to use it in the schematic design phase, not throughout the entire construction phase.
