choose better software
About Houzz Pro
Houzz Pro is the #1 business management and marketing software for residential contractors and design professionals.
Nice integration with other productivity apps.
I don't like the fact we don't receive enough matches, wrong match or no response back after we respond.

Pros:
N/A - (for the service that I intended to use this platform, I did not find any positives as I did not get any leads, therefore for me, no pros.
Cons:
Despite being a customer of Houzz since early beginnings in London from 2017, I have to say that I always found the Houzz platform very useful, somewhat like you would Facebook if you will. Enjoyable tool that definitely does not need to be paid, but can somewhat benefit. However I have for long considered opting for the advertising on their platform as it promised alluring client leads that would be coming and I would get more business, who would not want that? Sadly, long story short after almost 10 months of service and receiving 3 measly leads that were not even for the service that we provide, I have to conclude that this was (and sadly still is!!!) a complete waste of money for us. We have not go one good lead where we could generate any revenue. I was being told that the "magical system of Houzz" requires at least 6 months commitment which is why they try to lock you in for 12 months. Needless to say, this is purely so they can get the profit that they need for running their ads, and 6 months did not change anything. I am extremely disappointed as a frequent user of their platform prior this membership I was quite happy, even though we have never received any leads directly I was glad to promote our work. However now, when paying for this service in a locked 12 month contract and still getting the same amount of leads - NONE than before, I really feel repulsed by the platform, that does not bring me anything just invoices. I hope that anyone who is on the fence and is thinking about their services, thinks 10x times before going ahead. Remember, you are singing for 12, very, looong months of invoices with abosutely 0% change of getting anything in return. Hope this helps someone, like I wish someone would have told me beforehand. All the best Dom

Houzz Pro To the Rescue
Comments: Site Mangement. Since hiring a project manger I can see the pictures taken on site and it provides one place for communication between subs, team members, and clients.
Pros:
The product is easy to use and for clients to maneuver. I get far less pushback from sub contractors with this software than with others I've used in the past.
Cons:
At first I thought there was, but after some interaction with the Houzz Pro team, we were off to the races. As we get bigger, we may need to upgrade to program better suited for larger companies

Houzz Pro Extends Our Reach
Comments: Houzz has become a resource for us to drive traffic to our website as well, with Google Analytics we have seen the traffic to our website from Houzz increase which has been great to see. I think one of the strongest features of Houzz is the images because it gives us a great opportunity to showcase our projects and stand out from other remodeling companies in our area. I do wish there was a way to include additional URL to gain even more website traffic, for example, being able to link to our kitchen & bath blog would be great.
Pros:
The portfolio feature within Houzz is a great way to drive traffic to our website and to move forward with booking an initial consultation. Having the ability to message us through Houzz to discuss their project is another great feature, again helping us to pre-screen leads and determine if moving forward with an initial consultation makes sense based on what they are looking to accomplish in their home. For the most part, we have had success with these leads.
Cons:
While the link to our website is helpful to have as is the portfolio. If there was a way for us to showcase our 360 tours of our kitchen and bath projects, I think that would captivate visitors to our profile even more. I also have found that the Houzz project match leads haven't matched our scope of work, making them cold leads for us.

Great Experience!
Comments: My experience so far has been great!
Pros:
The design and sourcing products is critical for my business. The fact that I can go to one place for all my products is a game changer for me!
Cons:
I am new to the site as business, but I have always enjoyed the site as user. My experience is still very new but so far I can't think of many negatives that would fall in an "improvement needed" category. I am still actively learning all the features the site has to offer. But so far I am very happy with my decision to stop doing everything manually and invest in the tools to make my life easier and my business more productive.

Really good deal of the money
Comments: We have kept them the longest of the CRMs we've tried. They're not perfect but still better than most other fplatform.
Pros:
Houzz has so many features we haven't used all of them yet.
Cons:
The search function is none existent and managing messages is clunky.
Houzz is our 1 Stop Platform
Comments: Houzz makes me want to hit my desk and get to work. They give us the professional front that we want while making it easy to manage all parts of the process from design to enjoy!
Pros:
There is a lot... everything we could ever need and I don't worry about platforms integrating. It's integrated!
Cons:
There is a lot to learn! The curve is big, but the support is incredible! So don't let the amount of learning stop you. Once you have all of the parts of the platform running it is seamless and extremely valuable.
Still space to improve
Comments: In my opinion, Houzz Pro software has been a mixed bag. While it offers valuable features for project management and the support is commendable, there are notable drawbacks. The software has encountered bugs and lacks essential design elements, causing frustration and a loss of trust. Lead generation has been subpar, with low-quality leads and unresponsiveness. The program's extensive capabilities are impressive, but the learning curve is steep. Overall, while there are positives, there is room for improvement in various areas to enhance the user experience.
Pros:
Houzz Pro is an indispensable tool for our business, providing a comprehensive project-based software solution. Its wide range of features caters to our needs, including project selection, proposals, and seamless invoicing with clients. Moreover, the platform offers remarkable cost savings, as it delivers all these capabilities at a fraction of the cost, eliminating the hassle of converting funds to Canadian currency. One of the highlights is the Houzz Pro dashboard, which conveniently stores everything required for my projects, regardless of their scale. Additionally, the insightful analytics prove invaluable in tracking progress and identifying successful endeavors.
Cons:
The learning curve may seem daunting, but the exceptional support provided makes it worthwhile. Don't let that discourage you from exploring the platform's immense value once everything is up and running smoothly. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. It would be beneficial to have the ability to edit or cancel items after issuing an invoice, and generating credit memos can be challenging. Additionally, it would be convenient if bank transfer payments were free of charge. The Houzz Pro software design program has some bugs and lacks key elements like stairs and fireplaces, which need fixing to regain trust. Customizing specific furniture pieces within the program would be a great addition.
Great integration of portfolio, website, advertising
Comments: I have had a steady reliable account manager who regularly checks in with me to outline new features that were introduced, and even actually created the first version of our website which I subsequently tweaked a bit and personalized, but I was really impressed that she took the time to do this. This is definitely unique in the marketplace.
Pros:
I like the integration between our Houzz profile content and creating a website from it. It allows me to keep a portfolio of our work that I can direct clients to along with the creation and management of our website which is hosted by Houzz. It provides a single portal for managing leads from people who choose us in general searches on Houzz such as what they call Houzz Project Match, to leads that come directly through our website which is hosted by Houzz. They all show up in the same place. With the addition of the website tools and a fair bit of customization of our website using them, it has really provided an easy solution for a fair bit of our marketing. I would highly recommend it, especially for a smaller company that does not already have an up to date website. Also, remarkably, since hosting our website on Houzz our organic search engine ranking is unexpectedly high after switching over a year ago.
Cons:
I would love even more website creation tools but I also recognize that with more complexity, it might go beyond my capability to use these new tools.
All-In-One Sales Tool
Comments: Houzz Pro is not BuilderTrend or it's competitors, it's not meant to be. What it is, is a great tool for the boutique, niche or small custom contractors who work in intimate teams and/or one-on-one with their clients to deliver value on high quality projects. [SENSITIVE CONTENT], NOT a project manager for [SENSITIVE CONTENT]!
Pros:
I've used EVERY big name software you can think of and although they were very detailed and very useful for the purpose they were designed for none of them were a simple and effective all-in-one tool. That's where Houzz Pro steps in! The Houzz Pro package consists of: a website that's set-up for you, initially, but super easy to modify yourself or by reaching out to your dedicated support staff, a very simple CAD design tool to help bring vision to any project quickly, a mood board, a take-off tool that appears to be a light version of PlanSwift, an estimation tool and CRM. I have used ALL of these tools individually in the past, utilizing different companies for each, so to have them in one simple package is great! The strength of Houzz Pro is in it's simplicity and focus. It is not super detailed in any one of the features so it's best utilized, at this point in it's infancy, to engage clients and help the construction professional get a project's vision presented quickly. In a nutshell, it is a GREAT consultative sales tool. The CAD and mood board features also allow us to share the vision with our team of subcontractors very early on in the process. All of the Pro tools work seamlessly with the Houzz web profile and you can't beat the pricing for all of these features, especially considering that Houzz pretty much owns the higher-end client base on the web.
Cons:
If you keep in context what the tool (is) and what it (isn't) then, I don't think there are any cons.

A review from an avid user
Comments: Offer 3D design now, invoice génération for purchases appear very professional, mood boards are easy to use and handy, my customer service manager [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is excellent and knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Tech support has not always been great at all but it has improved
Pros:
Most impactful was the design software and mood boards and 3D option to show myself and clients. It was easy to on-board Houzz pro - Ivy is useful and reliable
Cons:
The Houzz pro software design program is still buggy and missing key items such as stairs and a fireplace. Bugs need to be fixed as I have lost floor plans and needed to regain trust in the program. Would be great to be able to customize specific furniture pieces into program and also, if Houzz could be more Canadian friendly, it would go a long way towards improvement. The lead generation is not great so far. Need better quality and legitimate leads to justify what I pay. Most are not interested in any design service and just playing around with the program. They do not return my call when I follow up. I almost have stopped follow up as it takes time and is. It rewarded
Not the same Houzz it use to be
Comments: we do not have a need for all the additional services as we already have an established business with a website and email already set up, as well as an invoicing system, calendar, etc. especially since not a lot of our clients are from houzz. When this was strictly a platform to showcase your work for potential projects, we received many projects from direct messages. But since everything changed years ago, we continue to struggle to actually get any response from anyone.
Pros:
This was a great place to showcase projects to gain potential clients
Cons:
Ever since the first changes were made, when they started to prompt potential clients with a survey asking them about their project, we quite receiving direct messages. We stopped getting people seeking us out because they saw our profile and wanted us specifically. Instead, they are now inundated with multiple calls from all the designers who received the potential project, which I'm sure is frustrating on their part. Many times (most) when we call those potential clients, we never even get an answer. We leave a message, we follow up with an email through Houzz, and almost never hear from any of them. The ones we do actually get to speak with again, usually don't go anywhere, and those few that actually meet with us, end because they do not have a realistic budget (or not the budget they suggested they have on their survey). We use to receive multiple high end whole home projects, but recently the only projects we get are single room, or just accessories.
Doesn't fit our current business model
Comments: Our purpose in using Houzz Pro was to bring in quality leads. That was the only function we desired to use it for, bringing us leads that fit our business model. Our hope was that Houzz Pro would filter out leads that weren't a good fit, and connect us with people who were a good fit. That's two separate objectives, and Houzz Pro isn't meeting either of those. Most of the leads we get are not looking to hire at all, or they aren't looking to hire a company like ours. They're looking to hire directly, not work with a general contractor.
Pros:
Houzz Pro has a good look and is constantly updating it's capabilities.
Cons:
Some of the newer features are more about Houzz doing something, than creating a product that connects quality leads with professionals. They make a lot of noise and do a lot of things, but no one really benefits. Concierge services, especially has been very unhelpful. Also, they way Houzz Pro redesigned it's format is not as user friendly for our objectives.

Beware of HOUZZ
Comments: Once we were signed up and locked into a contract we received a few leads and it was working for a couple years but then Houzz started tagging their own products in our curated design photos (which once you upload them to the site they have the rights to them). After many conversations with our ever changing account reps they finally removed their tags and now suggest their products at the bottom of the page. We cancelled our Houzz Pro account and have actually gotten more leads now that we no longer pay. We also signed up to use Ivy, an accounting program that they acquired and have had just as many problems. There is absolutely no support and we can't get ahold of anyone for days. We are behind frustrated with this company and would never recommend them to other designers.
Pros:
We signed up to use Houzz Pro in 2013. It was sold to us as a platform that would help drive potential clients to our Houzz page where we could upload photos and clients could leave reviews. We were able to select our targeted locations and criteria for potential clients.
Cons:
They sell you on leads and traffic and it happens for awhile but then it dwindles down and you are left paying an arm and a leg for no leads. They also tag their own products in your photos. Their support reps change constantly and no one seems to be able to help.

Houzz Pro is not what I like
Comments: unsatisfied
Pros:
I really do NOT like the new format that Houzz went to with Houzz Pro. I find the new program to be less easy to use visually and functionally it is way too chopped up. I don't need 90% of the "options" that you want to provide. I use Houzz to display our work, connect with potential new clients, and provide a format for great reviews. Houzz Pro is not any easier or better formatted than the original software we had. In fact, as i mentioned, I find it obnoxiously busy, overloaded with unnecessary options, and less informational about my potential clients than previous versions. For instance, I am no longer seeing a category about budget within the client inquiry. We end up wasting a lot of time now , just seeing if potential clients have budgets that meet the standards and costs of the project designs. I think it could do better, and have said so from the beginning of the switch to Houzz Pro. I like Houzz, I don't like HouzzPro.
Cons:
See above. I like very little about this software.

Comments: I have enjoyed the new changes and the ease of the Houzz Pro app.
Pros:
I enjoy the lead generation organization software. It is easy to use and track the progression. I also, use the idea books with clients and this is helpful in the beginning design and architectural phases while trying to capture their vision.
Cons:
I haven't really run into anything yet that has created frustration or difficulty. I think it took some time to determine the right selections of services to get to our right client but after a few tweekings in price range and scope of what we do honed in the leads have been more productive.

Not worth the investment for the marketing side.
Comments: Overall, as I've said previously, the website that they built for me was the only value that I got from Houzz. And in my opinion, that's the only benefit. Our money is better spent in marketing we can trust in
Pros:
If you need a website created and maintained, I think the service and the quality are fair for the price. Especially if your contractor. Builder remodeler. However, if you are an interior designer, I think it might be a good vehicle for Leeds.
Cons:
It will take you signing up for a year contract and paying them to learn that it is not a good return on your investment. it cost us over $8000 to learn that it was just $8000 wasted for the year. However, after the first year, they did offer me a lower price to continue for another year. I refused, as that would've just been additional lost revenue and no return on our investment. Their sales team is simply just that. People trying to sell you on the idea that you're going to get a return on your investment when in reality they could care less all they're trying to do is make a sale. They have no long-term attachment other than the original sale.

While we are happy to hear that you had a great experience with our Website Design team, we are sorry to hear that you did not receive a return on the leads that your marketing program generated. There are a variety of reasons that may have impacted the quality of leads including the settings on your account and quality of photos as well as testimonials on your account, your dedicated Client Success Manager was assigned to ensure success on your program. While it is difficult to say if this was a result of the right types of inquiries or other reasons why these jobs weren't closed - we would welcome your feedback if we could have made your experience better. Please don't hesitate to call us at (888) 316-6960. We look forward to speaking with you.
Product Review
Comments: We do not use HOUZZ to solve business problems, but HOUZZ Pro has made business expand into areas that are outside of our referral zone. The insights and communication are great tools. Our client success manager [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is phenomenal. She reaches out and follows up continuously and is very responsive to any questions that we have in a very prompt and professional manner. Very pleased with her!
Pros:
We believe that a photo tells a story and images say a thousand words. The HOUZZ Pro lead generation feature has worked very well in reaching outside of our referral zone expanding that organic reach. The ease of use of the product is certainly there and integration with the business model was easy. The client success manager that we are assigned is amazing. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been extremely helpful and responsive.
Cons:
Not really much to dislike about HOUZZ. We used to use Pinterest and now haven't opened that program in a couple of years since transitioning to HOUZZ Pro...we really use HOUZZ to promote more than we do FaceBook or Instagram.
Houzz Pro Still Needs Work
Pros:
Time recording and product markup are easy.
Cons:
Our firm was an Ivy user for a long time. When Houzz acquired Ivy we migrated over to Houzz Pro. The ease of use, functionality, and functions have downgraded and created difficulty, frustration, and delays. The worst part of the experience is that the system for technical support is terribly lacking and I usually have to reach out several times to get the answers I'm looking for. Some issues were not able to be resolved. It feels like they are taking on more than they can handle and it's causing user businesses to suffer the consequences. The lead feature is nice but since they only allow one admin, it's annoying that our sales team cannot access the leads directly from their inbox and are forced to log on.
