Pros:

All in all I was able to save money by combining three software products I was using. I think the automation ability is great and they are continually adding new features.

Cons:

I wasn't able to make a payment because it kept prompting me to enter in a zip code when that field wasn't available. I tried 3xs but was forced to use a different form of payment, which is annoying.

I will put all my eggs in this basket

Pros:

Right when I think that they haven't thought about something I want, I discover it. Their support is ready and available when I need it -- and even late at night when they're offline! I am very pleased and it takes a lot to make me want to make the move.

Cons:

There is not much to complain about coming from Canopy. What I would say is that I wished the "onboarding" was a more hands-on approach -- however, I respect their process because it has helped me learn the program so much more!

Pros:

Pipelines streamline all the work we do, making our processes much more efficient, while also enhancing the customer experience by ensuring everything runs smoothly and seamlessly.

Cons:

Getting pipelines and automation set up in TaxDome can definitely feel confusing at first, especially with all the moving parts, but once you have everything in place, the efficiency and time savings make it absolutely worth the effort!

Comments: I am nearing my 3rd month since paying for the full year license and still do not feel confident in trusting TD to keep my practice on schedule. Finding email messages as "unsent" when I look at them in outlook (but had no indication of an issue when I "sent" them via TaxDome) was my final straw this week and I am now feeling absolutely defeated by TaxDome.

Pros:

I was impressed with the client portal and paid for the 1 year license based on that ...

Cons:

Everything else ... (besides the portal)

Comments: Overall, TaxDome has really helped me streamline my bookkeeping and tax prep. It’s intuitive, secure, and has saved me a ton of time. From automating tasks to securely managing client documents, it’s made my workflow so much smoother. Tax season is always hectic, but with TaxDome, I feel like I have way more control and organization throughout the year.

Pros:

The automation and document management features have been huge time-savers. I love that clients can easily upload and sign documents securely—it's made my life a lot easier, especially during tax season. Having everything organized and in one place means I’m not constantly chasing down paperwork, which is a big win for me w both bookkeeping and tax prep.

Cons:

For some of my clients who aren’t super tech-savvy, the platform can feel a bit overwhelming at first. It would also be great to see more options for customizing the experience to better suit different clients' needs.

Taxdome is hands-down the winner in this space

Comments: I have tried many tax-focused CRM and project management systems in the past. Taxdome has, by far, been the best choice of software we've made in at least 10 years.

Pros:

The ability to track all of our clients' demographic information, the workflow automation, and organizers are making our life so much easier. We now have visibility as to where projects stand, there is a lot more automation of tasks, and it has made onboarding and kicking off tax projects much smoother. Our clients love the portals. In fact, I've had several clients comment on how user-friendly the portals are. That's never happened before.

Cons:

Honestly, it's hard to think of any. I wish there was a better time-tracking platform and better reporting, although that is getting better by the day.

Comments: Love it. Can't see myself not having it.

Pros:

I don't use the full functionality of TaxDome. I use it mostly to store and share files with clients, signature requests, and billing. It's been so easy to organize client files and bill/collect invoices. I also integrate the client portal login page into my website to streamline client access.

Cons:

It can get complicated but thankfully there are tons of resources online and customer service if you need a personal touch overcoming an issue.

Comments: TaxDome has been our client management tool for two years and overall we are happy with it. It integrates with QB but it doesn't with Xero, which we hope they do! Overall it's been a great tool for client management.

Pros:

Organizers, client portal, documents management, easy to use and upload documents.

Cons:

More flexibility/customization of user permissions. No integration with Xero.

I like how taxdome is user friendly and I'm able to message my clients directly thru the software. There's multiple templates that i find useful in my business.

Excitedly Looking Forward to What They do Next.

Comments: My experience was initially rough as my old platform did not accommodate teh transfer of files on taht system to TaxDome. What was impressive was that we could work most of it out with the assistance of TaxDome. I also love that they allow you to pay for multiple years to save a little more as an accountant. We all love to save a little, as this is it.

Pros:

The automation and the ability to onboard a new prospect to a paid client, all without any of the team lifting a finger. It is now set up so that if and when we receive payment, we get to work—reducing admin time by at least 20%.

Cons:

I can not think of any cons at this time.

Tax Dome #1 CRM recommendation

Comments: My experience with tax has been nothing short of amazing. Sure there’s always glitches but their customer service is quick to respond and help you resolve your issues.

Pros:

I like the ability to have client information all in one place including documentation and messages. It allows me to see my business in an overview using filters. I just can’t say enough good things about it.

Cons:

I think the thing I like least about it is that it doesn’t have a full Adobe PDF editor. The one that is in there has improved, but it is still lacking some features. I wish it integrated with QuickBooks rather than having to choose CPA charge or stripe.

Worth the Upgrade

Comments: Overall, 9.5/10. We are happy we made the commitment. The time it takes to set up is substantial, but I have to believe it will be worth it in the long run. We are able to systemize and build a sustainable practice because of the continuity that TaxDome provides.

Pros:

We were able to consolidate 5 different applications for our firm into one practice-management application. Our clients are fans of the client portal and we're seeing increased engagement because of the intuitive nature of the platform. Great support from their team.

Cons:

The initial setup/implementation wasn't the easiest. There is plenty of documentation and learning modules for support, though. This was just time-consuming for our firm.

A big help for my business

Comments: I am still setting it up to get more out of it, and I am still learning. Once I have it all figured out I think it's going to help me improve in efficiency and cut the time consuming repetitive tasks. Even with the price increase, it's going to help my business grow so it will help the bottom line.

Pros:

All-in-one service: client portal, website, documents in the cloud, electronic signature, client management, client communication, etc. Time saving features with automation, bulk emails, among other things. Highly customizable. You can request one on one sessions with the very knowledgeable staff for setting up and questions at no additional charge.

Cons:

The learning curve. This is a very useful service and since it's customizable you have to learn how to use it and it's not easy for the amount of features it has, which is a plus, but you have to put the time to take advantage of it. The price was very competitive when I started using it a couple of years ago, and they claimed that it was going to stay the same forever, but it was increased dramatically a few months ago. Still, I have renewed for 3 more years at the higher price because I think it's worth it.

Many great features! Ability to lock deliverables to invoice payment cut receivables down to -0-!

Cons:

File management. It's difficult to move files around to folders. Drag and drop would be a great improvement.

Pros:

The automatic notifications/emails that we can set for the clients to receive. For example - an email stating that their returns have been filed and accepted that's sent when I change the clients status in our pipeline.

Cons:

the interconnectivity between tasks/jobs/pipelines. I feel like this could all be one or tasks and jobs are not needed as much if the pipeline is set up correctly.

Great Platform

Comments: Amazing! Will continue using them for many more years

Pros:

I love that TaxDome is a place where my clients can submit documents to me, pay their invoices, and get their tax returns from me in one app, in a secure manner.

Cons:

At first when I started using TaxDome, I didn’t like the lack of payment options since I used Square, but my business has evolved where now I use Quickbooks for payments.

Comments: I'm still in setup mode, but the more I use it the more I love it!!

Pros:

Getting workflow visible and off spreadsheets and calendars will simplify workflow, reduce or eliminate dropped work and increase productivity, Data management all in one place, with remote access will be great! The free training and assistance is great help for the extensive setup process.

Cons:

Having to click the box next to each file to move instead of drag and drop is a hassle, Taxdome has a steep learning curve and setup takes a lot of time.

TaxDome is very user-friendly and combines everything I need for managing my tax practice. It has made organizing documents, communicating with clients, and tracking deadlines much easier. The automated reminders are especially helpful to ensure I don't miss any deadlines.

Cons:

There is a bit of a learning curve at first, especially if you're not familiar with such software. I also wish there were more notifications for updates on client organizers.

Wonderful Practice Management and Customer Management Tool

Pros:

I liked how easy it was once I got everything set up. I love being able to see at a glance how many jobs I have in each pipeline, then what stage they are at. Much better than an Excel spreadsheet. My clients love the document upload feature and the chat feature. Customer service is excellent!!!!!

Cons:

It isn't superintuitive to set up the pipelines. It did take some trial and error, and working with it through one season to get the pipelines set up exactly how I wanted them.
