Remote first? Matter matters

Comments: I wasn't sure at first since I hadn't used a system like this before. But now that I've used it for over a year I think it's really valuable. Getting folks to think slightly larger than themselves through peer recognition and surveys helps a remote-first team stay connected.

Pros:

For a remote-first company, Matter encourages engagement and peer recognition among team members. It also supports the management team taking the pulse of how people are feeling and what they are thinking about.

Cons:

It can be a little pushy to get responses. This might be a configuration option though.

Great way to boost morale

Comments: Overall Matter is a nice way to help your team feel good about their work, and is pretty customizable to the company. I suggest making sure higher ups are in it to win it before investing in the program.

Pros:

Its great that you can give kudos both publicaly and privately. Sometimes it means more to get private kudos from a colleage that helped you through a difficult situation

Cons:

A program is only as great as the people using it. It was hard to get buy in from higher ups to use the system. And its not possible to edit the kudos if you forgot to include someone, this leads to some people not getting the right recognition for projects that they worked hard on.

don't change the rewards without making an announcement BEFORE YOU CHANGE IT.

Comments: terrible. why would i spend points on company swag? shouldn't my company be giving me this stuff so i can rep them? also, announcing you're changing the matter rewards AFTER you've already changed them helps absolutely no one.

Pros:

nothing. after the rewards were changed this has become entirely useless.

Cons:

when the matter rewards were all changed without letting anyone know.

Comments: great experience All the teachers at Alpine academy love matter. we appreciate the gift card. I use Amazon to get more school supplies

It really matter

Comments: Our team uses it daily, and specially at Fridays, and I can say that it brought our remote team together and more united than ever. Also it makes a very pleasant work environment, and we can use it to know ourselves a bit more.

Pros:

It made so much easier to show appreciation for our colleagues, in a practical and fun way.

Cons:

I would like to see more places to spend our money, or more customization on the cards.

A Culture Win!

Comments: Easy to use, like the reporting.
There is probably an easy way to do this but I wish the reporting converting into cash vs kudos coins (do the math for me).

Pros:

I love that people in our company that usually only get a shout out for amazing work are getting real rewards. Instead of waiting until end of year for bonuses, we are able to reward and recognize great work throughout the year.

Cons:

I'd love it if the monthly fee was a bit lower.

Comments: I love how easy it is to use, and the ability to send coins with kudos is a great touch, it makes showing appreciation more fun. The gifs are definitely a highlight too. Plus, the automation is flawless, everything just works smoothly. It’s a really enjoyable app all around!

What I liked most about Matter is the ability to send coins along with kudos! It's such a great way to show appreciation while also earning coins. It makes the experience feel more rewarding and fun!

Cons:

Honestly, I liked pretty much everything, especially the gifs! Can't really think of anything I disliked!

Pros:

Comments: I’ve had an overall great experience with Matter. I’ve been able to use kudos coins to cover all different sorts of things, because the options to cash in vary so widely. I also appreciate knowing how appreciated I am by my coworkers.

Pros:

Since the company works with everyone remote, Matter has been a really important tool for us to get everyone closer, recognize their value and their good work every day or week. It also makes us socialize more than if we didnt have it.

Cons:

I think there is anything that I dont like, I even love the gifs they use to invite us to join kudos or so.

Low effort, big impact

Comments: Love it! So easy, and such a big impact!

Pros:

It provides a VERY easy platform for our employees to recognize each other, and also for those employees to see a summary of their "kudos" for performance reviews. It seamlessly integrates with our Slack instance, so it's right there, all the time.

Cons:

There is a small bug that makes it a little tricky to assign a feedback category and then start typing the feedback content. Sometimes it deletes.

Cons:

It should add automatic stickers when we choose the subject of the message. It would be great to have. I don't like it when I have to choose the funny images.

Comments: Really straight forward to onboard and integrate within the company, we were provided materials to circulate, and the install was a simple add in on Teams.

Pros:

Matter has really made a positive impact on morale within the company, it has increased engagement and recognition. There are a wide variety of rewards to choose from to suit everyone's tastes

Just that we didn't implement it sooner!

It really Matters!

Comments: Very easy to use and straight forward system. Even cashing in your coins for vouchers is extremely easy.

Pros:

It's a great way to give credit to your colleagues for a great job well done. This is also seen by everyone in the company, which usually isn't the case.

Cons:

The only potential drawback is that each week you can run out of coins, leaving some people feeling underappreciated. This could just be an individual company setting though.

It would be nice if it would possibly be able to foresee some of the words I use often and fill them in.

Comments: Very positive - everyone in the company loves how simple it is to use. It definitely has increased engagements and the graphics are so fun to use! (We integrated matter to slack, so the slack channel is full of positive energy which definitely raises everyone's morale at work)

Pros:

Very easy to use and graphics are endearing. Clean and user-friendly interface also is a big plus to encourage people to actually use the software!

Cons:

I can't really think of any really, perhaps the lack of font options?

This platform allows us to show our appreciation to our co-worker and management staff for all the little things they do to help us do our jobs brilliantly!

Cons:

Sometimes the reminders are too much, when you're having a hectic day and don't have time to stop and read them! Other than that, I find it useful!

Ease of awarding kudos. Was very easy to setup and love our rep! He always responds quickly.

Cons:

Wish we could edit kudos. Several team members have misspelled words and they wanted to edit instead of deleting and retyping.
