Build Your Community With Ease

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Very positive, they have good educational weekly programs that will help you in your journey to build your community.

Pros:

How you can build a community, individual groups, paid or free, create courses all in one platform.

Cons:

How their payment system was set up. I also couldn't setup an affiliate program for my course.

Alternatives Considered: Kajabi

Reasons for Choosing Mighty Networks: I wanted to have a place where I can not only build online courses but also build a community.

Switched From: Teachable

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: At the time the price was very compatible with similar products, also a friend was using and she recommended.

Terrific for Creators and Community

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Our goal was to create a global community committed to leadership and career development. One where privacy was assured and time zones could be easily spanned. The option of delivering courses in various formats along with posting content and other events makes MN the perfect platform for reaching our goal.

Pros:

Mighty Network (MN) is an extremely robust platform for creating and nurturing a community of people with shared interests and a focus on transformation of some kind. It offers a wide range of options and a terrific support team of MN employees and other users. The design is values-driven and the MN team are constantly enhancing it for ease of use and functionality.

Cons:

The wide ranging options made start-up a bit complicated, but that was handled well by the support team, the Community Design course and the generous comments of other users.

Alternatives Considered: Meta for Business

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: Facebook is just plain evil. The disinformation rife in the platform and the unethical sharing of information meant we had to look elsewhere. We love that fact that with MN we own the data and it can't be shared by MN. A generic website or blog were too limited in what they offered and would have required multiple add-ons in order to offer events and courses.

Lots of potential here, but I've ultimately gone with something else.

3.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall this platform has potential, but there were too many issues, too many downsides, and too many complaints from my customers to keep it. I'm now testing out other platforms that have courses and community integrated and will see how it all goes.

Pros:

- community directly linked to the courses - one off courses as well as membership tiers available - events and links to Zoom - mobile app

Cons:

- video and audio playback is buggy - community chat is also buggy and doesn't always update and requires a manual refresh - users said the Ux Interface was hard to navigate and they couldn't always find what they were looking for. - they ALSO charge a transaction fee on top of the monthly subscription fee for the platform

Mighty Networks Response

Hi Avery, we just shipped a fix for the playback issue you described. And our navigation updates later this year should streamline any UX issues. We still feel when it comes to courses and community in one place, there's no product like Mighty on the market. We'd love to host you again in the future!

Haven't regret the move for one second

5.0 3 years ago

Pros:

In a matter of weeks we were ready to launch our new community with several existing online courses moved over. Producing content is very easy. To get everything in one was very valuable for us - course platform with payed or free courses, enrolment and drip feed as well as a community platform with the ability to interact with other members. Available as apple and android app, our members can all of the sudden access their courses from their phone, without us having to develop and maintain two apps ourselves. Huge.

Cons:

There are still features that we are hoping will get there. Like more drip feed settings and the ability to give a member access to a whole course at once even if it's drip fed to mention two. But we have made it work with existing features and the value largely overcomes some details we hope will be available in the future.

Alternatives Considered: Teachable, Kajabi and accessally

Reasons for Choosing Mighty Networks: We wanted community features and easier to create course content.

Switched From: aMember Pro

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: Everything in one. Know-how from the Mighty Network team on running communities. Less work with setting up and configuring the platform. Our users can access their practices in an app!

So glad to hear that this has been a successful transition for you Eva, and that you and your members are taking advantage of the native mobile apps. We look forward to continuing to support you with more upgrades to features in the future!

The Key To Our Success!

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: It works great! Fluid, functional, and reliable!

Pros:

MN is the product that enabled us to do what we were good at doing, at scale! The team behind MN wanted and fought for our success to make community coaching at scale feasible, exciting, and affordable. If you are a coach or community builder there is no better first party platform than Mighty Networks!

Cons:

They were a little slow at getting some features off the ground but the wait was worth it!

Alternatives Considered: Podia

Reasons for Choosing Mighty Networks: Slack was too text heavy for our audience.

Switched From: Slack

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: Podia is solid alternative but the native app and development were far superior (and more glossy) inside of MN!

Mighty Networks for Community Empowered Learning Experiences

4.0 4 years ago

Comments: I have been using Mighty Networks for a little over two years now and it has been great to see the platform develop and grow. The people at Mighty Networks are fantastic and their availability, feedback, and knowledge have fundamentally and positively altered how I am approaching my business and how I teach. Community empowered education is the future of online learning and Mighty Networks is a fantastic starting point for those interested in designing free or paid collaborative learning experiences.

Pros:

The power of MN lies in its core focus on community design and engagement. It is easy to get started, produce content and engage with members in various contexts. The community surrounding the software and the support from the people at Mighty Networks is incredibly strong and transcends the use of the software. They are supportive not just in using the software but also in designing meaningful and successful digital communities.

Cons:

As with any third-party platform, there are substantive limitations to the customization and design options available to hosts. There is no "getting under the hood" to tweak usability, SEO, functionality, default member settings, member communications, landing page design, etc. The course design options within the network are solid but lack many features of comparable offerings like Teachable and Thinkific. The strength of the course options lay in its community-first approach to learning experiences but if you require detailed student tracking, dedicated project spaces, integrated feedback options, etc. other LMS options would be a better fit.

Alternatives Considered: Teachable and Thinkific

Reasons for Choosing Mighty Networks: The community building and design options within the platform were severely limited and dated (a forum) at the time.

Switched From: Rainmaker Platform

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: The community building options, as well as the potential for student collaboration, is much much stronger within Mighty Networks. My long term strategic goals align more with a community first, content follows approach to creative education and mighty networks core values and approach are a solid fit.

The Platform For Co-Creating A Purposeful World

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: The software is very easy to use and the guides and templates to set up your own community are excellent. It makes it very easy to launch a functional community in a very short time

Pros:

Mighty Networks will be the platform that facilitates the emergence of humanity into our next level of civilization. Because it is focused on enabling creators with a purpose to capitalize on the immense value of our collective intelligence and communal creativity.

Cons:

I really have not found something I do not like

Alternatives Considered: SocialGO

Reasons for Choosing Mighty Networks: What I wanted to do by inviting and allowing members to contribute and engage was too difficult in NationBuilder in comparison with Mighty Networks

Switched From: NationBuilder

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: The architecture and functionality is much more in alignment with the concept of communities of shared-purpose

Great design and competitive pricing, but I wish MN worked with PayPal or Square

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I would stay with Mighty Networks if I could process my subscription payments directly with MN, or with another payment processor.

Pros:

I love the design. I love that there is a mobile app. I also really appreciate that Mighty Networks hosts video for courses so I don’t have to look elsewhere for video hosting. I really like the topic organization as well.

Cons:

I wish Mighty Networks would partner with another payment processor because Stripe is highly restrictive as to which businesses it allows to hold accounts. I am a lawyer, a psychic, and a spiritual educator and I sought to use Mighty Networks to host my monthly membership community where I help folks with their spiritual development. However, Stripe closed my account because I provide psychic services. For this reason I am migrating to another platform that allows me to process payments without having to use Stripe. I am very disappointed because I love the platform and so do my clients. They have been on there for the past 8 weeks in my online course but I have decided to also migrate my course to my website.

Alternatives Considered: Podia

Reasons for Choosing Mighty Networks: Patreon takes too much of a percentage out of my revenue.

Switched From: Patreon

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: Mighty Networks has the community/forum component that Podia does not.

Great alternative to standard social media options!!

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: Launching our Mighty Network was a game changer for our nonprofit. We have been able to expand into the online space and reach a much broader audience. We are also building true community in our Premium subscription network, as well as being able to mentor and train others in what we do. Overall it's been a great option for our nonprofit.

Pros:

I love that Mighty Networks is its own network and free of all the other social media platforms. I also love the combination with content in the context of community. Community is one of our highest values. I also appreciate the convenience of the app.

Cons:

One big con is that there is no way to do live videos. Would really like this feature to be added. Also, navigation is a little cumbersome and confusing for new members. I have made my own tutorials for our network to try and help make the learning curve more manageable. One of the biggest user complaints is "I don't know how to find things..." I spend a lot of time helping our members troubleshoot. The IOS app limitation for purchasing plans is also confusing - although I do appreciate that I don't have to sell on IOS.

Alternatives Considered: Teachable, Bettermode, Podia, Kajabi, Meta for Business and Thinkific

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: Focus on community - which is vital to what we are doing.

Mighty Networks is fantastic for e-schools

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I started out with a free membership, and jumped into the paid version after my LMS system was hacked on my Wordpress site. I love the security that comes with Mighty Networks! I have evolved and grown with my Mighty Network and experimented with features with my community, and I appreciate the flexibility of Mighty Networks. I'm in for life!

Pros:

I love the intimate community and intuitive layout of Mighty Networks. It evolves with your community or school curriculum.

Cons:

I REALLY wish I could make an album/gallery and that my student could too. It would be SO much easier for them to share their artwork and see thumbnail views at a glance. I've worked around it and students make articles instead and add photos. But many of my students have asked for an album feature or the ability to post multiple pictures to a post.

Combining user discussion, online courses, email list, and shareable content on one platform

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Mighty Networks is where LinkedIn Groups could have been if they had not lost their way. LinkedIn would rarely solicit user feedback and always ignored it when they did interact with their users. MN actively solicits user feedback and builds that feedback into their development plans. LinkedIn changes were always surprises and disappointments. MN provides advance notice of what they are working on (or considering) and the enhancements are always excellent functional improvements.

Pros:

We were able to move all of our discussions off LiinkedIn with the addition of splitting into multiple topics and sub-groups (not possible on LinkedIn). Further, we no longer need an email list program nor a separate course building platform with everything integrated on the MN platform. It is also hard to beat the availability of key people within MN when trying to push the platform to its limits. They are quick to respond and often add suggestions to their development plans.

Cons:

Minor issue - moving discussion threads between topics is excellent, but replies can be lost when moving a discussion thread from one sub-group to another.

Mighty Networks makes what we do possible

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Mighty Networks has helped us build a robust private network for small business owners. We appreciate their desire to improve the software, adapt to user needs, and pioneer new ideas. It's been an absolute pleasure working with the Mighty Networks team!

Pros:

Mighty Networks makes it possible for us to bring small business owners together so they can learn from each other. We appreciate having a private, well-organized space for conversation. We also love the features that help members find each other and get to know each other better.

Cons:

Mighty Networks is pretty darn intuitive--but it can be a learning curve for some members. We've found this can be overcome by simply creating resources and events that help members navigate the space and experience the platform.

The Best Community Software

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

When I started my online community, I didn't want to rely on Facebook and I also wanted software that would allow me to share pre-recorded workshops etc. Mighty Networks really is the best of both worlds. If you include topics you can easily build a resource database for your members AND you have a social media feed where members can interact with each other. It's super easy to use, much cheaper than Kajabi and the likes (which imo don't really work for a membership anyways) and the customer service is the best.

Cons:

Here are some smaller adjustments that I'd like to see in the future: - option to choose more than one topic for an article - embedment of audio, instead of file sharing - migrate members from monthly to annual plans - plans in NZD - more options to adjust the landing page - free trial period for members without having to put in credit card details (and allow members to use the whole trial period even if they cancel earlier)

Alternatives Considered: WordPress and Kajabi

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: - ease of use - price - social media aspect

All-in-one Solution for Community Engagement

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Business problems we're trying to solve - connecting a global community of entrepreneurs and leaders who share a common heritage, building entrepreneurship skills, and driving financial inclusion.

Pros:

The aesthetics, affordability, and functionality are what initially drew me to the platform. The features that are customizable include: creating groups, courses, and membership levels.

Cons:

Lack of real time customer support and onboarding are challenging. The Community Design course and the Mighty Hosts group are very helpful but when you need that quick response, the chat takes 24 hours to respond.

Alternatives Considered: Hivebrite and Kajabi

Reasons for Switching to Mighty Networks: Cost and ease of use.

Great, but could add valuable features

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: It has been positive, for the most part, but I struggle to know if I will continue as key functions don't appear to be on the horizon, such as the gallery/album feature I mentioned above.

Pros:

The simple interface for members is positive and I like the course integration.

Cons:

There are a few things...first, I would love a photo album feature. This is a big problem for community. We share photos and the live feed loses a lot of posts over time. I also really hate that we have internal and external plans for workshop sign ups. It is a bad business plan to add key strokes to any process asking for a sale! It is wildly confusing to everyone too.

A platform of potential!

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: We love Mighty Networks! It is always evolving, adding value and we are learning all the time. Our members love having a safe place to communicate and learn. You get out what you put in with MN!

Pros:

The customisation options, the courses platform, the look and feel of the platform are all fantastic. As is Might Network's commitment to continuous improvement and the Mighty Host community and learning experiences.

Cons:

The membership plans can be cumbersome and confusing. Would love to be able to duplicate and amend plans instead of starting from scratch each time. Customised welcome messaging would also be great.

Finally, a platform that GETS me!

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: The support has been incredible and makes me feel confident about taking a chance on the platform, investing in it and moving my community of 446 women over to it. I've been thinking about moving from Facebook for more than a year but didn't know where to go or how to make it work. Mighty Networks was the answer.

Pros:

I'm most excited to have everything all in one place for my community and to focus on really building it here. With Mighty Networks, I will be able to close my Facebook group, cancel Teachable, cancel Clickfunnels and be able to offer my community special features like the app so they can connect with other women entrepreneurs in their area.

Cons:

I'm not sure there's a way to do live chats within our groups yet, but I'm sure that's coming. ;)

User Experience

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Side stepping FB & L-I filters (owning contacts) and having direct access to members is great! MN team support/responsiveness and Mighty-Hosts community are real game changers. As users we feel/are connected and supported.

Pros:

It is mostly intuitive and easy to use, navigate, get to know. The same ease-of-use is experienced by most new community members - and this IS our member experience priority!

Cons:

Limited options for 3rd party payment platforms. "STRIPE or nothing" is no choice.

Excellent Product - Worth Every $

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Fantastic! An excellent find!

Pros:

Mighty Networks is a wonderful tool that our business uses daily! It's easy to use from both a member and administrative standpoint. Our network has many teachers from across the country that love the setup and ease of use and wish their district used this instead of other products they are required to use. Excited to see what new features are in-store for the future!

Cons:

I wish there was a way to do a bulk upload of multiple files or videos at one time.

Not so Mighty Network

4.0 2 years ago

Comments: It's a pretty good experience and ensure I can be part of networks that are of interest to me.

Pros:

A very useful networking tool easy to use and having an app as well as desktop version makes it very useful.

Cons:

The experience is not as smooth as compared to say Guild or LinkedIn. The key drawback is that updates on the platform are not as immediate as other platforms.

A good place

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Mighty Networks allowed for me to a to have a paid platform for my Christian women following. They do a lot of interacting for the small group it is.

Pros:

I like the simplicity of this platform. I appreciate the tags and how to navigate the group when I am in and when my members are in. I like having a separate app to get away from the noise of social media.

Cons:

I would love to be able to go live on the platform.

Comments: I am part of 2 communities that run on Mighty Networks, both of which offer training that I find useful. However I find the platform so unpleasant to use that I don't log in as often as I ought to

Pros:

It is possible to run a community here with events, documents, trainings and all kinds of resources made available Gives an alternative to running groups on Facebook as many people don't want to have a FB account

Cons:

Not intuitive to navigate, making it hard to find exactly what you are looking for - just feels rather clunky

Mighty Networks - The Platform You Need to Grow Your Membership

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

The homepage is easy accessible and highlights the top posts that are important to our members. I like having the option to do polls and embed links. The analytics are very helpful.

Cons:

I would like to have the option to delete a DM message. The polls only allow a certain amount of characters. The profile pages lack a sense of who you're accessing/you don't get a real sense of the person. Adding an option to incl. more photos and videos for profiles would be ideal. Also, seeing a person's activity w/o having to click on the option.

Good for active membership management

4.0 2 years ago

Pros:

Being able to organize topics and subjects.

Cons:

Found it difficult to get members engaged on platform. There is a learning curve for using the different features. Didn’t like inability to create polls using mobile version of app.
