choose better software
About ADP Vantage HCM
Cloud-based HCM platform that enables businesses of all sizes to manage payroll, attendance, benefits along with other HR services.
For the time that we've worked with ado Vantage HCM has productivity has improved and strategized out our costs. With this software we can view or reset our schedules and even track our productivity.
Very expensive and they don't deliver what they promised. Integration was very painful even from one of their own platforms to another.

ADP does it again
Comments: Love the program. With all software, you need to take the time to learn. But our help desk is incredible and reliable.
Pros:
It’s really intuitive and the interface is actually ice to look at.
Cons:
The field grabber tool for reporting sometimes doesn’t like a field you want…but it depends on the page. So somethings you are clicking though multiple pages to find a useable grab.
Good platform
Pros:
I can appreciate the payroll and reporting features, they are easy to navigate and well organized, scheduling and time tracking is necessary and very simple even for large companies.
Cons:
Steep cost, and occasionally slow performance.
If you want simple, choose different
Comments: I use ADP vantage frequently for hires, status changes, report writing etc. I feel there are too many variables and if you wasn’t the one that implemented some things are challenging to do. Having worked previously with ADP workforce now I was very shocked at this product didn’t live up to expectations.
Pros:
The self service dashboard, the onboarding,
Cons:
For an example to navigate to through multiple clicks to get to one area. Too many moving parts, more complex than necessary. Reporting fields that don’t work for our set-up but shows as options, just more work overall.
ADP Vantage HCM
Pros:
1. Comprehensive solution coverage covers a wide range of HR functionalities including payroll, benefits administration, talent management, and time & attendance 2. The user interface is designed to be accessible, making it easier for people to use and navigate the system
Cons:
1. The system can be slow to load at times 2. the breadth of features can result in a steep learning curve for new users, necessitating thorough training
ADP Payroll
Comments: Overall its a good software no matter the size of your company..
Pros:
The support, the ease of having everything in one place
Cons:
Sometimes if you need help it takes a long time to get the answer you need

Nice tool for Payroll & Benefits management
Comments: Fairly good in terms of the product and usage. The UI can be made more intuitive and employee-friendly. Customer service centers need a major overhaul in terms of the overall support model and skillsets employed.
Pros:
Fairly comprehensive in terms of features the tool provides for complex workflows for big companies. Like the simplicity and UI for achieving HR-related tasks, especially benefits management. Leave management system also links well with in-house systems and custom timesheet management systems.
Cons:
Customer service isn't the best. Generic call centers where the customer service rep isn't aware of your organizational policies around leaves etc. or payroll-related questions. Neither they have the ability to direct you to the right point of contact within your organization. You would expect customer service to be more knowledgeable.

Great payroll software
Pros:
I love how easy it is to see all of my timecard punches and pay statements on the website. Everything's easy to locate and use.
Cons:
The mobile app is basically useless as it doesn't even let me view my pay stubs. It's just a blank white screen.
Work & ADP
Pros:
Learning how to use ADP was very easy, I manage payroll for my job and I can easily navigate through this system
Cons:
I haven’t found any issues using ADP vantage so far, everything has been pretty easy to learn and use.
Extremely useful
Pros:
I'm able to submit PTO requests and management employee timecards. It has a clear interface. Tracks a lot of useful information.
Cons:
From time to time I have to dig to find what I'm looking for.
Great features for employees and employers!
Pros:
I love that my payroll, training, and company updates can all be managed from one place. Great UI and visual data.
Cons:
I have had issues setting up direct deposit directly through the site. Would love to be able to adjust tax deductions and info from the site.
payroll services
Comments:
We need to define product...IS "product" a piece of software or the service provided by your company or the combination of the two?
The software is excellent. Well written and easy to use and maintain.
The support...Employees change often and when a serious issue needs to be handled, they require me to call someone else.
When a big issue arises you can forget about proper follow through. Any and everyone is willing to drive to my place of business to talk and leave a few free pens and sticky notes. I don't need your pens. I have been raked over the coals on the Work Comp pricing and I can't get resolution. It is so infuriating that I have explained the issue, provided competitor pricing and nothing happens.
I am looking to not only move my work comp to a more competitive company, but I am moving my payroll service as well. Are we a big loss?... Not at all. However, as each of our small companies move away because we aren't "a big fish" you will eventually feel the pain and discomfort of such losses.
All this could be avoided if I could get my questions not only answered, but price changes immediately implemented and credited since it is an obvious egregious over charge and over sight. But no...Too many employees between the customer and the people who can make things happen.
Maybe you need someone like myself that operates a small business to show you how to provide the customer service we want, not the customer service you think we need. We are extremely easy to understand and typically low maintenance. I would think having a lot of small businesses is better than one large business. Better diversification, better profit potential because of the diverse needs of each company would allow you to sell other products line you offer to an even larger customer base.
Sadly, I am sure this review will be seen by the one employee hired to check the email server and forward to another email that is rarely checked. The Regional Manager will continue to stress about his or her employee turnover rate because his/her boss has a cap to stay under or it sets off an alarm that requires them to file a report explaining why customer service ratings are down, new customer sign ups are low, existing customer base is dropping and employee retention is increasing. Their aggravation will be felt by the Regional Manager; who in turn will call or probably email their District Manager, who has limited training on leadership, and they in turn will REACT to their Supervisor instead of taking in the information, assessing it, and creating a measurable plan to actual FIX these issues.
Again, this is probably all for nothing. ADP is doing just fine and close to an all time high stock price. However, over the last 5 years how many new payroll companies have come onto the scene? Does anyone ask why? Job markets have been soft and more people leaving the job market. So...one reason could be OPTION 1: software design. Or maybe...OPTION 2: customer service. I'm going to go with OPTION 2.
Such a simple service to do. Extremely basic and easy to teach and to execute. Customer Service creates loyalty. Take the word customer off and just use the word SERVICE. Think about it..SERVICE. From picking up your groceries or dry cleaning. A smile, good product, and if there is ever an issue, you identify and fix it immediately. That is all most of us ask for from those we live with, work with, and play with. We want our needs met and if you mess up: apologize, fix it, learn from it...repeat.
Meeting the customers needs is much cheaper than all the pens, sticky notes, and coffee mugs that are made trying to project an image. How about instead of projecting the image...BE THE IMAGE! Be the leader in the industry. Be what everyone else looks up to. Since ADP is the world's largest payroll provider the best way to clinch #1 and stay there forever is by beating everyone else at customer service. You have the pricing, you have the software, you have the internal operating procedures already in place. Now put fear in your competitor by making it impossible to meet, much less beat, the service you provide.
I end this review with the same question I started with...IS "product" a piece of software or the service provided by your company or the combination of the two?
Sincerely,
Kent Snyder
Payroll system that's robust
Comments: Make sure to do your research if you are considering ADP, it's a huge company and that comes with benefits but it's important to know where they may fall short in servicing your needs as well.
Pros:
ADP can be used for small or large businesses depending on the needs of payroll. What's interesting about the product is that it can be very versatile. The product is very easy to navigate and maneuver once you are trained. They have multiple extensions that you can dig into as well if you are looking to expand.
Cons:
I've used ADP with a couple of different companies of varying size and while it's great that it can flex between large and small companies. I found that the customer service was a challenge at both companies. Payroll companies offering a dedicated resource for a contact is really important especially when related to time sensitive matters.
ADP Review
Pros:
ADP Totalsource is fine to use (which I used with a previous employer) but ADP Workforce (which we currently use now) needs a lot of improvements.
Cons:
Customer service - you don't get a designated representative and only get a case number to follow up on issues which isn't helpful if you need to call back. You will explain the same problem to a differenct representative. ADP Portal - the different systems aren't as user friendly as they should be, different systems do not communicate to eachother correctly if at all and new hire entry takes too long. Reporting - the custom reporting option is too diffucult to use and when errors are returned you would need to know computer coding to decipher it. Payroll reporting needs a facelift as well. Payroll - preview takes upwards of 15+ minutes to be returned and can take longer if there is an issue. You are not notified of issues unless you reach out for your preview to be forced through. Time and Attendance - the layout has not been changed in the 5-6 years that I've used it. Change the format and add new things that the customer has requested. Build out the system more.
Outdated functionality
Pros:
The only thing I like about it is that they've provided a new interface that helps ease the pain of using it.
Cons:
I've always found their PTO request fields clunky. For starters, you can edit your PTO after it's been approved, that's super inconvenient. Then, when you have vacation days that span over a weekend, you have to put in separate requests because it's not smart enough to know that weekends aren't business days! The PTO fields have always been confusing, first you put in the date (or dates) then you need a start time - here we should have an "all day" option for convenience but no one bothered with that - then you enter the amount of hours, which at first I thought was total amount of hours but I learned the hard way it s just the amount of hour per day. Shouldn't a work day be setup by the organization? Because that way the system would be smart enough to know how many hours every time. With an "all day" setting it would make it 8.
Good product with a steep learning curve
Comments: Once I got passed the learning curve I found the product very useful if you have a lot of ADP services.
Pros:
Vantage is basically a hub for all your ADP service that you have like benefits, reporting, and recruiting.
Cons:
The only thing that I don't like about the product is that it has a very steep learning curve. This is coming from someone who has a lot of experience with this software.
Solid Payroll/HR Product
Comments: ADP Vantage has been a solid system. I would rate it as one of the better payroll/HR systems we have utilized.
Pros:
We are able to capture a great deal of payroll and human resources data in one place. We can search for any number of items quickly.
Cons:
The help features can be a bit confusing. There are a number of reports, but AdHoc reporting is not exactly simple.
Easy to Use for Staff
Pros:
As an end user of this software I was very pleased. The platform is user friendly and pages load quickly. You are able to access the majority of your self-serve human resource needs; update personal information, print taxes documents and look at historic payroll are all within reach.
Cons:
Overall I enjoy using this software. It's not flashy like other platforms, but it gets the job done.
Human Resources Manager
Comments: Upgrades and support for upgrades are terrific.
Pros:
Best product on the market. I have used in several companies and it will always be my go to. Ease of use, excellent reports, customization as well, great customer service and support.
Cons:
Tutorials are rather lengthy and should get to the point. Can be hard to find a specific tutorial. Once found they are generally helpful.
Acceptable system but customer care is an issue
Comments: I have worked on the ADP Human Resource Benefits system for over 5 years. As a solo HR practitioner it has been good to have a HCM system, however ADP was selected first for payroll and A/P and time tracking. We have made the system workable for recruiting, performance management, etc. but any customization has been a challenge.
Pros:
Would not be able to manage recruitment as easily without the on-line application portal. It has some limitations, but allows for communication with the candidates and automatic transmission of data when an individual is hired. Employee Self Service allows staff to easily change their address, emergency contacts, etc.
Cons:
It's difficult to customize in the manner we would like to. For our size company, we do not have a dedicated customer service group so calling in for customer service you get varying levels of competency with the rep who answers the phone. Unemployment compensation services are extremely poor - missed deadlines, lack of response, delays in processing. Would not recommend using this service, ADP outsources it.
Not User Friendly
Pros:
The system is cloud based which means I can access from any computer and there is a mobile application.
Cons:
Poor customer service support, too many clicks to locate information I seek, "ghost" employees that disappear when in process to transfer, unable to attach documents
When we signed up they had a great promotion going and they seem to offer promotions very similar all the time.
Pros:
First 3 months were free and can cancel at anytime, I would recommend them to other business owners.
Cons:
not much to complain about here they do what they are suppose to and we are happy with our relationship we have built
ADP is should only be an automated data processing company
Pros:
ADP does what the company name explains. It does a great job of processing payrolls and ensuring that the data is processed as entered.
Cons:
ADP is trying to branch into too many sectors of HR and has been very unsuccessful. The customer service is horrible and the outsourced call center representatives cannot answer basic questions. They do not have the ability to modify their programs and technology to fit the company's needs.
Converting Off ADP Workforce Now after 3 years
Pros:
The robustness of the system. There were many additional modules such as compensation, learning, in addition to the core HR.
Cons:
The system is clunky and pieced together and is difficult to navigate. The customer service has gone from bad to worse and the COBRA connection and Carrier Connections teams were difficult to communicate with. They "nickel and dime" the customer with add on's. The Account Manager was no where to be found and "annual system audits" they promise never happened in the 3 years I have been with them. Switching to another vendor as of this writing. Do your homework!
Excellent sales pitch, not so excellent product
Pros:
The best thing about ADP is the graphic design/layout of the product. It looks polished, and visibly is attractive.
Cons:
ADP's customer service leaves a lot to be desired. From the start of implementation to the ongoing questions and needs, they seriously lack in hold times, quick responses, and the actuality of solving your problems. The system has a lot of potential, but most of the representatives consistently say they are sorry and they don't know either why the product can't do some very simple things. It doesn't calculate max retirement calculations correctly, it's a hassle to use the goals for HSA accounts. All in all, a big disappointment if you are looking to streamline your payroll.
UGH it just isn't working out like they said it would
Pros:
There are some good things about the user exp from employee point of view on 10.0 I do enjoy 90% of the folks I work with on the phone. They want to help..can't always help but they want to and I like the friendliness of them.
Cons:
Horribly complex reporting system. Company is so big that left hand doesn't talk to right hand so projects ie ACA were a catastrophe. The recruiting module is worthless, slow and antiquated. There is little flexibility in the system to customize. Training is long and not clear.
