Our Most Often Recommended Fulfillment Provider

5.0 5 years ago

Pros:

We're a conversion rate optimization firm who helps ecommerce brands choose vendors who add to the customer experience, which includes fulfillment. As you can imagine, having a fulfillment partner who can ship in 2 days to any location in the mainland USA is crucial to increasing conversion rates –– and competing with Amazon.

Cons:

We honestly haven't heard any complaints once we've recommended ShipBob – and working with their team to help onboard ecommerce brands we've recommended has always been a pleasure.

Alternatives Considered:

Great platform for those starting with fulfillment

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Shipbob was a great and budget-friendly resource for my company's needs. We needed a fulfillment center that was easy to work with and didn't have too many requirements around how to package items for shipping. Shipping rates are fair and support is always willing to audit our orders for any discrepancies. I only have positive things to say about Shipbob and recommend them for any company who's looking for a fulfillment center.

Pros:

The dashboard is easy to use. Customer service is great and answers all of my questions quickly.

Cons:

Order and product pages load slowly. I've had issues with posters getting damaged in shipping.

Made a Loss Using Shipbob

2.0 last year

Comments: There was no effort made to make up for inflated fulfilment costs for our first batch of orders. Was planning large order volumes to be stored processed through Shipbob but not anymore.

Pros:

The warehouse manager Daphne was fantastic to deal with.

Cons:

The pricing is completely off for our products. Having shipped our products ourselves for the past 12 months, when we get charged by Shipbob 4x the rate we were achieving, this will be the first and last time we use shipbob for our e-commerce business.

My trusted 3PL partner for non-Amazon fulfillment.

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: ShipBob gives us a single source of truth for all our order data, inventory data is easily filterable across all fulfillment centers, broken down by sales channel, etc. I can even set up re-order notifications so I know when to place an order with my manufacturer, reducing stock-outs.

Pros:

Big fan of my own buying experience. It felt consultative rather than sales. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] really seemed to be on my team and looked out for my best interest. I love that I can put 2-day shipping on my personal store.

Cons:

Design is a bit behind and minimal, but that's more of an aesthetic thing.

Cons:

The cost of the shipping is higher than discussed, this was forsure a little bit disappointing. We need to work through this.

Automatic Recommendation For Our eComm Clients

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

From a logistics perspective for our clients, it was an absolute no brainer. We don't use it ourselves but many of eCommerce clients do.

Cons:

If I could give 0 stars, I would

1.0 5 years ago

Comments: If you are looking for a fulfillment partner, ShipBob is a horrible option. In our experience... They lied about their rates and technological capabilities. They fought with us when we brought issues to their attention. Their failures resulted in hours and hours and hours of our time being devoted to something we thought we were outsourcing. Worst of all, we lost customers due to delayed orders and faulty tech related to shipping options. We had significant issues with ShipBob since we very first began working with them, and every time one issue was solved, another occurred. Below are the issues we encountered, and based on other reviews and of their own admission, I know we are not the only company to face issues like these.

Pros:

-The Dashboard is nicely designed and easy to navigate

Cons:

- They bait-and-switched us on affordable 2 Day shipping. It took getting one of the company's founders involved for them to fulfill the promises they made, and contracted for, regarding giving our customers access to affordable 2 Day shipping. - They consistently overcharged us for fulfillment, requiring us to do several audits and request credits for being overcharged. These exercises took hours and involved a lot of back-and-forth each time. In some cases, it wasn't until we threatened legal action that they credited us for these overcharges. Overall, we were credited several thousand dollars for overcharges, which is not insignificant. - They offered us "real time rates" for overnight orders that were not actually tied to real time rates; it was a complete misnomer and false promise. This resulted in us under-charging customers and having to cover the difference, which turned profitable sales into losses. - For a reason they still cannot explain, they removed all shipping options and rules, and instead put in place a $20 ground option (our product retails for $39.95 and weighs 6 ounces). Our conversion rate plummeted from 4.6% to 1.3% during the time that our shipping options were affected. We were not the only customer affected by this issue, and because ShipBob never got to the bottom of why it happened, they could not assure us it wouldn't happen again.

A simply platform that allows you to focus on your core business-all with an amazing support team!

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: I oversee business development efforts for Natural Cycles and recently was tasked with taking over our US logistics. When I first took this over everything seemed like a foreign language but [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] (Shipbob support team) reassured me he would be able to help me every step of the way! He has been incredibly prompt with his support and has taken several calls with me to personally walk me through features on the platform. He never has seemed frustrated (and with all my questions, I do not know how this was possible!). I just wanted to call the support team's superior service and recognize how simple the software is to use. The features are so straightforward.

Pros:

The software was easy to integrate with our core systems. The order tracking is clear and concise. The analytics tool allows you to easily sort through the data and sku performance allowing you to focus on inventory tracking with ease! Submitting WROs have never been more clear and inventory management across all warehouses is seamless.

Cons:

I truly have no complaints. The software and the support team are amazing!

Avoid

1.0 5 years ago

Comments: Horrible. First, it takes a very long time to get in touch with someone and work through even simple problems. If you have any kind of issue, expect it to take two weeks at least to resolve. Second, the warehouses are geared to overcharge you. I did not want to think that was true, but it has proved to be very true. From day one they tried to cheat me. They overcharged for delivering a tiny custom box by stating that it weighed much more than it did. It took literally a month for them to do anything about it -- a month of my time wasted with emails, phone calls, producing documents that showed the actual weight of the item. Then they over-bill for storage -- every warehouse bills a different amount for the same items. When I was freighting my boxes back to our location in Seattle, Moreno Valley charged me $400 to put a few boxes on a pallet. The average employee there is paid $13 an hour. So they are claiming that stacking a few boxes on a pallet took 30 hours. I know the size and weight of my boxes. It will take me half an hour. Goodbye Shipbob. Do not be fooled by a slick looking interface. Avoid this company.

Pros:

It is only as good as the people inputting the data. Every warehouse location operates differently, so you will see wild inconsistencies, incomprehensible descriptions, and just flat out wrong information.

Cons:

Not only is there a learning curve, but there is a need to constantly check what they have done. Over billing, incorrect completion. Warehouses are trying to make money off you. Check the weight of the products they report. Check the size of the products. Are they storing it on a pallet when it could fit on a shelf? The software cannot protect you from what the warehouse managers are doing.

Avoid ShipBob - inflated reporting and hidden exorbitant fees

1.0 4 years ago

Pros:

User friendly interface is the only pro I would give ShipBob credit for.

Cons:

Avoid ShipBob at all costs. There are better, faster, more transparent, and more affordable 3PL companies out there. With me, Shipbob never made a single delivery on schedule this past year. I can understand that given the state of delays with this pandemic, but what I can't excuse is this: Shipbob was routinely over-reporting the amount of storage space required to warehouse my inventory, in order to charge me higher for storage costs. When I cleared out my inventory to use another 3PL service, I decided to dispose of the inventory, and they charged me more on disposal than it would have cost me to ship my inventory internationally. Seriously deceptive stuff. Claiming my inventory occupies way more space that is remotely believable - this is how they inflate their profits. Deceptive and unethical. Avoid at all costs.

Takes the hassle out of pick, pack, and ship so I can focus on marketing

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

The ShipBob software is incredibly easy to use. It integrates directly with my ecommerce platform (BigCommerce), and once an order comes in – it gets shipped out almost always that same day (if its bought a little later in the day, then it will go out in the morning). I can pull reports out to analyze my overall shipping costs and spend, and decide how best to allocate my inventory throughout the warehouses. The noissue partnership is great as well, and now I have 2 stickers from them going in with each order!

Cons:

I don't have any complaints. I needed a good 3PL software that got my goods out ASAP and picked, packed and shipped them like I would or better. These folks do that.

Great Fulfillment Partner

5.0 5 years ago

Pros:

We’ve been working with Shipbob for a year now and have been very happy with their service. The integration with Shopify and Amazon is straightforward. Their analytics software allows us to have all the data we need to do inventory planning in an efficient way. Their technology let's us ship from multiple of their FCs which has allowed us to reduce costs and damages while not increasing operational complexity.

Cons:

Before it was more challenging to understand historical inventory movements, but the new analytics software has fixed this by providing full visibility on daily inventory movements. Their software is always in continuous improvement.

The perfect fulfilment solution

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: Awesome, perfect to directly get all the insights from the ShipBob dashboard. They made it visible for us that we ship most of our packages mainly on the East- and West Coast. We're now using the MV and PA location which helps us save shipping costs!

Pros:

The stock is easily visible, really convenient that Shipbob has multiple warehouses all over the US. ShipBob is able to cover all of the country.

Cons:

It can be difficult to see where which expiration date items are.

Cons:

Growing pains

2.0 6 years ago

Comments: Poor. Look elsewhere.

Pros:

Software is intuitive and integration with Shopify is easy

Cons:

Totally inconsistent pricing, lots of errors (my customers have received batteries, hammocks, etc. instead of our own products) and disjointed customer service that doesn't really do anything. We will be switching to a new 3PL after this selling season

Shipping / Logistics Made Easy

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: While the dashboard has been very easy to use, I've been most impressed with the people at ShipBob. If I've had questions - their availability and responsiveness has been great. If I've had the very occasional issue, it was resolved immediately. Fantastic customer service and experience from this team!!

Pros:

Very intuitive and straightforward in terms of customer use

Cons:

No challenges to report - I really can't point out any issues from the functionally my team needs to run our business.

Great 3rd party fulfillment app

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Besides a few hiccups our overall experience with ShipBob has been positive. There are going to be false positives with Shopify and shipping rates for customers incorporated with ShipBob but besides that the app is of great value and importance to us.

Pros:

Very easy to implement this app and the customer support made it very straight forward to sync with Shopify.

Cons:

The UI could use some tweaking to make it a bit more first time user friendly. There were some false positives with shipping address.

Overall a great experience. There have been errors here and there that affected customers though.

4.0 7 years ago

Pros:

Easy user interface to work with. Nice, clean and simple. Easy way to set up, track, and quickly send new orders from the interface.

Cons:

It would be nice to have a live chat or support phone number for high priority issues. There has often been times we could have avoided a problem with a customer if a quick response happened. It was also be nice to have inventory levels automatically dispersed according to which DC's have the most turnover.

Very SLOW fulfilment, does not meet deadlines, bad support.

2.0 3 years ago

Comments: We've had nothing but problem after problem after problem with Shipbob. It's been the worst decision to change over to them which we initially did because it looked cost effective. But remember, you get what you pay for! What you might save in storage costs will cost you your reputation in fulfilling orders on time, it will cost you time having to be on emails and calls trying to get helpful response from their Support team and time when they take a whole month to actually process and receive an incoming shipment.

Pros:

Initial set up was easy at first and you don't have to be a big business to sign up with them.

Cons:

It's totally inflexible and not designed for practicality for e-commerce businesses.
