Very complete tool only for SEO experts

Comments: I use it daily in my work since it is one of the main tools we use to analyze web pages from optimization. As we use it for day-to-day work, we also take advantage of the ease with which reports can be put together to send to clients.

Pros:

Searchmetrics is one of the most complete tools within SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and among its virtues, we find: 1) It offers insights for many countries separately and is always updating new locations. 2) It covers all the spectrum of features that are analyzed within SEO (technical aspects, linkbuilding, content, research) 3) The support is very good and constant, with distance training

Cons:

Being such a comprehensive tool, it is difficult at first to understand where to find each item and how it is organized. In addition, although it is very professional, it is an expensive tool for entrepreneurs.

Comments: Personally it my favourite keyword research tool and came with the additional benefit of Deepcrawl (now Lumar)

Pros:

The most self intuitive tool. Comes with Deepcrawl (now Lumar), the account managers are great and they really take feedback on board. Felt like more of a partnership than a business/client relationship

At the time of use a backlink tool was often rumoured as a future integration but I never saw it come to fruition, maybe it has since....

Comments: My overall experience with using Conductor Searchlight has been productive and satisfactory. Because the investment my marketing team made into the tool generated positive return of investment through incremental lift in non-food products orders, revenue and margin, specifically, from the organic search channel. The tool interface was intuitive with both keyword optimization and analytics features complimenting each other and easy to find. The automated search keyword ranking trends, location of SEO errors and recommendations on how to resolve them, made making content changes more efficient.

Pros:

Conductor Searchlight tool enabled me to analyze organic search driven traffic and conversions for specific keywords. So, I could work with my copy writing team to optimize content of landing pages and make them more search friendly. Additionally, I was able to include high volume keywords in title and meta description tags of every landing page. As well as, add internal links based on SEO insights and recommendations provided by Searchlight. If there were pages with broken links or 404 issues, I was able to quickly find those and fix them by implementing 301 redirects.

Cons:

Conductor Searchlight tool depends on integrating with Google search API and Adobe Analytics. If this integration is not done, Searchlight offers limited SEO insights which can also be pulled through Google Search console. Due to limited SEO technical support provided by Conductor and Adobe, sometimes the additional task of implementing integration becomes a burden on the client development team. So, the value of Searchlight tool can be maximized only if client has robust technical support to do integration.

One of the essential tools

Comments: Search Metrics is a tool that I use often to get a quick snapshot of the online visibility of websites based on keyword rankings. Not only can you get a very accurate feel for how your website is performing over time across multiple countries, but you can also spot peaks & troughs and compare the dates with Google's algorithms to understand whether the website was affected.
You can also compare several websites as well as tracking both paid and organic visibility.
Another great feature is the winners & losers toplists, which update weekly to show the biggest shifts in visibility across all of the websites that are tracked. The tool can also be used to identify which keywords send you traffic, with current ranking changes, estimated traffic and other PPC stats. Reports are also available with lots of useful metrics to monitor progress and spot new opportunities. There are lots of other features in the tool with more insights into keywords, backlinks, social and content, but access to these depends on your account level.

Pros:

Nice reporting easy to compare sites side-by-side shows historic data allowing you to get a snapshot of a website's performance over time

Cons:

The weekly visibility updates are occasionally late with no news which can be frustrating when you have clients waiting on reports The account levels vary a lot, with a significant jump from 'essentials' to 'Suite' - while they do offer custom packages, from my experience these can be a bit confusing as they are based on a credits system

Comments: My overall experience with Conductor Searchlight SEO platform has been positive. Because I was able to correlate organic search keyword rankings to the traffic and conversions driven from them. And make optimization changes in copy, title tags and description meta data of landing pages based on the comprehensive SEO insights provided by Searchlight tool. Once Searchlight becomes an office integrated partner of Google Analytics and integration with it becomes easier without having to depend on API work by developers, its usage and adoption will grow tremendously to justify spending additional dollars on it.

Pros:

Conductor SEO platform is easy to use and offers quick organic search insights to improve traffic and conversions from search engine marketing tactic. I could browse its interface to find keyword ranking reports by landing pages as well as competitor reports to compare search results of my apparel e-commerce website without spending too much time. The visual charts and trends made it easy for me to see when my website's search engine rankings started trending down, so I could make copy and meta data changes to improve those rankings. Due to such optimizations, I was able to lift search roi and sales.

Cons:

Conductor SEO platform is dependent on web analytics software like Adobe or Google Analytics to track organic search engines' driven landing page traffic and product revenue. It doesn't have its own tagging process to track search driven e-commerce website performance. So, additional development and integration effort goes behind enabling connection of Searchlight tool to analytics tools through their API. This extra efforts slows down maximizing the adoption of Searchlight in a marketing team, initially.

How I Came to Learn SEO

Pros:

Quite literally, this program that assisted in my SEO education while starting at an advertising firm. The UI was incredibly easy to navigate and understand, customer service was super helpful regarding my questions about the program or SEO practices in general, and searching for keywords with competition was a godsend. Towards the end, they introduced their writing program to easily writers like myself to create SEO-friendly pieces in a cinch.

Cons:

I had little input as to using this software, but I have heard that it is more expensive than competitors. Also, when I first started using this, there was a learning curve to understand how all the different features work together in harmony, but all questions can be answered by the friendly and educated SM support staff.

Comments: I've worked with SearchMetrics for years. They get 5 stars because [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is on-point every time the tool has an issue. It didn't happen often, but [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is the best and when he's off on vacay, the customer service team can move mountains.

Pros:

Keyword research is great and the tagging ability on the Project side is essential.

Cons:

There are periods of time where very small sites aren't served like the larger sites. I had client sites with 500 or fewer pages that went weeks without updated data on the Research side of the tool. If you're paying to track the sites on the Project side the Research side should make sure it's crawling sites so you can do the research to guide content creation.

Pros:

Insights were valuable, capabilities were great. Good for very detailed "in the weeds" research of keyword ranking performance.

Cons:

Product was extremely slow and some days didn't work at all. This was a huge hinderance especially at the beginning of the month when client reporting was due.

Comments: I've really enjoyed the Searchmetrics Suite and the Searchmetrics team has been especially helpful as well. They're constantly improving the suite and taking customer feedback into account.

Pros:

- content experience tool provides a thorough understanding of existing and competitor content - research cloud enables easy access to topic metrics and related topics - tagging ability makes it easy to segment keyword visibility by specific topic or URL - easy to compare your keyword presences vs competitor kw presence

Cons:

- tracking keywords directly from the content experience tool is a confusing process - within content experience tool you need to remove suggested keywords from every related kw list, does not automatically remove from all nor provide the option to remove from all

Comments: I am using Conductor over months to drive my marketing strategy, to undersntad SEO audit and increase SEO score with it.

Pros:

Conductor is easy tool to use for SEO management, you can improve your SEO score with Conductor to reach more people with Search. It is helpful for using small businesses and large scale to drive marketing strategy.

Cons:

Conductor has nice features but they should improve dashboard to better understanding. There should be Google Data Studio connector to use with Google tools.

Comments: I had an amazing experience. I really love the tool. It offers 5 free searches in the free version per day which is a good thing.

Pros:

Conductor extension for chrome is really helpful in finding the keywords that a page is ranking for along with their volume and frequency in the content.Moreover, the tool also displays all the technical issues on the webpage for SEOers.

Cons:

No bad experience so far. But, I would love if they can offer more free searches per day.

Organic Search Optimization made easy

Pros:

Conductor Searchlight tool gives me the ability to track organic search rankings of various landing pages. And optimize the content of those pages so I can increase qualified traffic and conversions driven from those pages. I like Conductor Searchlight ability to compare search rankings of my website to other competitors. And quickly show issues such as broken links or excessive keywords so I can work with my web developer or copy writer to fix those issues.

Cons:

Conductor Searchlight depends on Google API to collect organic keyword search data. And integration with web analytics software such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics to correlate organic keyword rankings to success KPIs such as landing page traffic or product conversions. So, dependency on Google APIs for search data and analytics software for KPI tracking are the two things I like least about this software. These two dependencies significantly increase dollar investment which makes ROI goals more aggressive to achieve.

New Design Helps but still Weak compared to Ahrefs and Semrush

Comments: Used primarily for SEO text writing and KW tracking in the past, but dropped the product.

Pros:

The content editor which helps you write SEO optimized texts is fantastic. As much as I dislike SearchMetrics in general, I think they nail that better than anyone else has.

Cons:

The UI is awful. It's very difficult to find your way around and everythign is split into modules. The tool is also German which shows in the English at times. The weird credit model is old fashioned and overal it's just waaay expensive compared to the market leaders with a weaker product.

Great SEO suite if you are willing to pay a high price

Pros:

Actually, they deliver everything you can imagine getting your content marketing to the next level. I also liked their newly content experience suite, that definitely gives you valuable insights for your content creation and can make your contact creation process more efficient.

Cons:

I tested the suite in-depth with a free trial. At the end of the day I decided against searchmetrics, as especially when you want to take advantage of all the different suites / products they offer, they are IMO the most expensive software on the market.

The end all in house tool for SEO

Comments: It changes the way SEO is done in house. It helps us integrate SEO into all of our marketing initiatives.

Pros:

I really liked the full funnel marketing approach conductor takes to SEO. It helps classify every keyword in the early, middle to late funnel in the buying process. I also really like the ability to make wireframes for my writing team all within the platform.

Cons:

It's just so darn expensive... Organic traffic really has to be a huge revenue driver for you business in order for the investment to make sense.

Amazing intel, hard to execute

Comments: I appreciated having this intel but I was a one-person team at the time, so I simply didn't have the resources to execute or dig into what the intel meant. It's a product that needs a team behind it to truly take advantage of all its features.

Pros:

Amount of information is astounding and the reporting dashboards are really robust.

Cons:

It's hard to know what to do with the vast amount of information. It is almost overwhelming.

SEO assistance is the key

Comments: We have used Conductor for 5 years now and their platform is always evolving towards the future. They have added and optimized their platform as the SEO field evolves. They have top notch customer support and dedicated teams that are always available to help.

Pros:

Using the keyword data and exploring competitor keywords and keywords when we acquire a new location has really been the key to our success this year as we have grown as a company.

Cons:

It does take some time to learn the system but you can customize the dashboard for different teams.

Incredibly Useful

Comments: I've been using Conductor Searchlight since I started at my current company, about a year. I know we're only scratching the surface of the tool, and it's purely a lack of manpower in our department to blame. The tool itself if incredibly helpful and user friendly.

Pros:

The customer service is excellent, they are continually developing and refining their product offering, the insight emails are super helpful, and the Chrome plugin is useful for a quick analysis of sites.

Cons:

The navigation between tools could be improved, and the ability to do more with content briefs would be helpful.

SEMrush offers more and is less expensive

Comments: So far I haven't seen any benefits of switching to Search Metrics.

Pros:

I've used two other premium versions of SEO software and I can't find anything that I prefer on this one. It's over-rated.

Cons:

Convoluted and not intuitive to navigate. Does not offer mobile data for my country. Does not provide domain authority scores. Does not not provide an in-depth backlink gap analysis. Have to keep inputting competitors for the different sections - why can't it just retain the information once off and use the same for each project? Why can't it keep the default country you're working on instead of it jumping to the USA all the time? The list goes on...
