Holy Grail of Remote Desktop Software
Comments: I came across Remote Desktop Manager in my search to find a better solution to what was becoming a time intensive process of updating, managing and remoting into what was growing to be a substantially large number of various types of connections. After testing several different remote management platforms with great disappointment, I finally found Remote Desktop Manager and have never looked back. I have been using it for over 5 years now. Not only do I use it to manage all my connections but I can use it in a well laid out platform.
Pros:
I can quite literally remote into a crazy amount of connection environments all within under a minute if I want to as well as a specific connection environment along with its specific VPN connection dynamically if I want without having to connect to that groups VPN first. Remoting like a boss isn’t the only plus to their platform. They have an extensive amount of tool sets one can use within each connection environment to use such as macros, scripts, management tools, command line tools, sub connections, logs and many others. The list of additional functionality is greater than one would be able to leave in a review.
Cons:
The only cons I have come across over the years were there were a few times I found the version for Mac OS to be a little buggy but that was resolved timely and it didn’t affect the actual functionality of the software. Also, some of the macro and script help documentation could have been a little more detailed. However, the help documentation pertaining to this could have very well been updated since the time I needed further clarification which was when I first started using it. I have not needed to use it since that time now that I understand how to configure the macros and scripts within the software.
Great RDP Management tool that grew into anything PAM solution.
Comments: Multiple users at multiple locations all who have the keys to various client systems and need to insure that we can all access them (subject to restrictions the admin places) and if one gets updated by a consultant that the change is captured and documented. Beside the automatic sharing of an update, if something stops working you can see who modified the entry and check why it is not working. If change was a mistake you simply roll the change back via the history feature. I had someone delete 200+ entries by mistake and five minutes later they were back.
Pros:
It has a very rich set of features and capabilities for connection to systems needed to manage both internal systems and devices. More importantly client VPNs, credentials, connections, various other key details, and PowerShell scripts to enable a multiplier effect for my efforts to the entire organization. If I get one thing working for me, by adding it to RDM it is available for all users (if allowed) in my company. This leads to the next most favorite, granular controls over almost every aspect (if you choose) of the information stored in the system.
Cons:
It does not handle moving from one network state to another gracefully. Meaning when running one VPN session and it ends, you might find yourself disconnected from the Management Server and if you were not offline, it clears your entries till you reconnect. This reconnect is easy but manual so it can be an issue.
Remote Desktop
Comments: My overall experience with Remote Desktop Manger is good. The capability to work from home and access my files on my work PC has helped with completing projects on time.
Pros:
What I like most about this software is that I am able to access my work computer from home. My home PC doesn’t have all the programs and files I need to access when I am working from home. Instead of saving files on a flash drive and bringing it home, I can access the files directly through my work PC.
Cons:
What I dislike most about this software is most of the time when I am using it, there is a horrible lag. I am not sure if this is because of the software or possibly the internet connection I use.
It is a secure tool for remote access of Networks and Servers including multiple protocols and VPN
Pros:
It has built-in corporate password management tools, general-level access controls, one-click connections and multiple single-window access to reduce desktop clutter. Injection of credentials directly on remote servers. They can never compromise any information, since they never have access or knowledge of plain text credentials. It allows to control, delegate and filter the user's access to privileged accounts using a role-based security system. You can integrate FTP, FTPS, SFTP, SSH without any inconvenience with reduction of costs
Cons:
Not being able to perform a scan of the Network Domain where all the equipment can be visualized and thus not have to incorporate one by one to the tool, but only the users and the keys. We can not see what equipment is in use or failing that ip are assigned, to see the Domain Forest.Being an easy, comfortable and practical application. You can know who did what with a password, where they did it and when
Swiss Army Knife of Tools for SysAdmin
Comments: Excellent, but we would really like a Linux SQL Database, like MySQL or MariaDb, we are not fans of SQL Express for Linux
Pros:
Swiss Army Knife of Tools for SysAdmin, a great tool, which includes all the management tools in a single application for System Administration
Cons:
doesn't support MariaDb anymore for teams!
Managing servers the new way!
Comments: The best App I used and I recommended to any Network Engineer or System admin.
Pros:
When I started managing my company servers and network Appliances, I was using the local remote desktop and I had to type the ip or each server everytime. With Remote Desktop Manager, my servers were already added and organised by folders. Which made my work easier and saved a lot of time.
Cons:
Sometime the opened windows will laf and you have to close and open a new one again.
Excellent!
Comments: Overall, very happy with this piece of software and would recommend it to people wanting to manage large RDP work loads
Pros:
This makes it very simple to log into remote sessions and is far better than the windows option
Cons:
The interface can be quite lagging on high resolution displays. This is a common complaint I’ve seen

The swiss-army knife of remote access

Cons:
Nothing not to like in this case, it fits most use cases
What is Remote Desktop Management and how does it affect the world?
Comments: I was working on a voting task which required a lot of people and finishing as soon as we can but the problem was how we could even meet up when we wasn't in the same location, so we decided to use the Remote Desktop Management so that we can finish on time and at a high pace and we did it. Usually, the task could have taken more days or weeks but with the help of Remote Desktop Management, there was everything at our plate and all we was asked to do was using our speed only, i mean, the security was well maintained, their was real-time monitoring system which kept our boss very updated every time and the interface was very user friendly.
Pros:
There is a lot of things to like about this software but the most ones are it's Improved efficiency, RDM can streamline the management of remote desktop systems, reducing the time and effort required to manage these systems. Increased security, RDM provides a secure way to manage remote desktop systems, helping to prevent unauthorized access and ensuring that sensitive data is protected. Centralized management: Remote desktop management provides a centralized way to manage remote desktop systems, allowing administrators to easily monitor and manage these systems from a single location and it is a very good software when it come to the integration due to it's API ( Application Programming Interface) which can be configured to work well with other different softwares even third-party ones and all of these. lead to an strong organisation.
Cons:
Likely, like all technology softwares, RDM has also some limitations like: 1.Complexity: RDM can be complex to set up and manage, especially for organisations that have large and complex remote desktop environments. 2.Performance issues: RDM can impact the performance of remote desktop systems, especially for organisations that have a large number of remote desktop systems. 3.Security concerns: Although RDM provides increased security for remote desktop systems, it can also introduce new security risks, such as the possibility of unauthorized access to remote desktop systems or the loss of sensitive data . 4.Cost: RDM can be expensive, especially for organisations that have large and complex remote desktop environments. And due to all those reasons, some users may quit using it and start looking for new softwares.
System Administration Streamlined
Comments: In January 2016, our company, Holland Computers, Inc. was selected for a case study using Remote Desktop Manager. This is a product that I strongly believe in. Rarely does a tool come along that becomes your entire toolbox. In the course of doing my daily work, I have to make hundreds of connections to remote servers, manage those servers, databases, web sites, application servers and developers. RDM gives me a centralized, single pane of glass from which to do all of it. I can store passwords using my favorite password manager, Keepass, write and assign scripts, manage services, and build custom connections to every device, server and workstation I manage. The best part is that my entire team can use this and we don't have to keep redundant information in multiple places. Now, we can collaborate as a team, updating and sharing tools and connections in a way that makes all more efficient! Get your copy here: http://devolutions.net/ref/545020
Pros:
Efficiency. It brings all of my systems into a single pane of glass. I also enjoy the numerous connection types that allow me to completely customize the product for my teams use.
Cons:
I've been using this product for 2 years. I have yet to find a limitation...
No work day without Remote Desktop Manager!
Comments: saves a lot of time, the search for passwords finally belongs to the past - a centrally repository and the changes are in seconds on all clients available - also perfect is the offline mode! Also, if you on the way, you can use one of the mobile apps to get access fast and secure (supports also the offline mode!)
Pros:
-) Team Management -) Security Role Based -) Centralized Password Management with granular security -) Many VPN Add-Ons -) Web Browser Integration (Devolutions Web Login) -) Available on Android & iOS -) Centralized Templates -) Features like open VPN automatically if ping fails! -) Support the import from many other programs -) Subconnections -) To-dos with reminder feature -) Documentation section -) Support variables -) Last but not least - the Support!
Cons:
I've been using this product for 3+ years now so - hard to believe but at the moment there are no criticisms.
Remote Desktop Manager - Most Helpful Software in Day-to-day
Comments: I truly recommend this software. It has changed the way that I do my job every day. It is free, so I think anyone who works in IT and has to manage a bunch of systems should give it a quick go.
Pros:
I can genuinely say that RDM is my favorite program for my work as it simplifies everything ten-fold. No longer do I need to remember IP addresses and logins - RDM does it all for me. In addition to that, it allows me to complete all of my work within a single window. Now I don't need 4 Chrome tabs open, 3 RDC windows open, and a couple Putty sessions. In addition, the free version lets you do almost everything that the paid version does. The community surrounding this program is growing day-by-day, so support can also only get better.
Cons:
The only thing I dislike about this program is that there were a couple compatibility issues with the most recent update of Windows (1809). After a quick google search, however, I was able to fix my issues.
It's a centralized solution to have what all what you need to use to work in one place
Comments: I'm using RDM with a centralized devolution server with my team and we are working correctly , safety and fast from years. We are not looking for data when needed because they are easy to find and use in seconds.
Pros:
It's a very complete and powerful solution. Inside one product you could store and define all you needs to work with your servers and softwares ! You could configure and store things like : vpn, remote connections RDP, remote SSH session, FPT, username, files, etc. All you could imagine to work with multiple software and server available for your team and with payement option syncronized and subject to user rights .
Cons:
Complicated... too many options available on every kind of pieces. This software it's not satisfying the KISS mantra at all.
Remote Desktop Manager is the most comprehensive remote session manager I've used
Comments: This software makes doing my job significantly easier. Rather than having SSH, SCP, RDP, etc. sessions strewn across different apps, I have everything integrated into a single interface, and all my passwords are saved (encrypted) for ease of connection.
Pros:
As a SysAdmin, this is literally one of my most-frequently used applications. It's fantastic being able to save different remote session types into one interface and being able to keep them all consolidated. When I install updates in environments where we manually deploy, I can open 10+ connections at one time to save myself time. I couldn't recommend this application more!
Cons:
Every once in a while, the software will lock up on me, causing me to lose my current sessions. But it's very rare.
For A More Resourceful Working Environment
Comments: My overall experience using this software has been a good one. I highly recommend using this easy to understand and dependable software application.
Pros:
Remote Desktop Manager is an essential service in the IT field but offers a secure platform for other applications. It allows a whole host of connecting options. For example it offers the use of multiple IPs from one single desktop. It's effective, easy to you and very convenient. No need to use a VPN when using Remote Desktop Manager as the process is already automated. Also, your data is truly secure as it is centrally stored with RBAC config.
Cons:
At times when your connection is disrupted there are issues with connecting but overall it's a superb software that's super easy to use which is commendable.
Use Remote Desktop Manager
Comments: For me who in the post pandemic I still find myself in home office, it is simply gratifying to have my job in the comfort of my home
Pros:
My experience has been excellent, the quality, speed and tranquility in use has generated satisfaction
Cons:
I believe there are no caveats, as to the use , there are only shortcuts that have not yet been used
More answers than questions
Pros:
in my experience, the remote dektop manager (rdm) from devolutions is the best it-tool on the market to establish secure connections and access to various target systems. it enables all possible connection protocols to be used from a central point. depending on the requirements, the rdm can be used to perform a wide range of tasks. many tasks can be automated. interesting is also the perfect interaction with other products from devolutios. With the possibility to use a free version, all functions and functionalities can be tested in peace and quiet.
Cons:
nothing, there are no other necessary functions for the daily work
Excellent Remote Desktop Manager
Comments: Cool
Pros:
Having worked with Remote Desktop Manager for a while I would say it makes the job of managing remote sessions with clients and connecting to remote servers a breeze. As a technical consultant, resolving issues on remote servers were a daily thing as Remote Desktop Manager was a life saver.
Cons:
I think it's a great tool and nothing to like less about it at his time based on my interaction and scope of usage.
Remote desktop Swiss Army knife
Comments: It is a feature complete product and very well thought out. It has the ability to connect to so much stuff. The Development team is very active and they participate in their forums which is great.
Pros:
This application has it all. It connects to anything you could want to remotely administer. from SSH to RDP to VNC to Vmware view it has it all. You can share connections between a team as well via a SQL database or other means. It works well for every occassion. Support is great and they strive to satisfy all of their customers. This is a really great application and it runs on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.
Cons:
No Linux version but they say that they are considering it.
It exists, trust me you have to try it
Pros:
All in one place, and shareable, different technologies works like a charm
Cons:
Poorly translate to Spanish and other languages
Alternatives Considered: Excel Database Tasks (EDT) and SNAH
Reasons for Switching to Remote Desktop Manager: Absolute game changer
Remote desktop for small business
Comments: I use it to edit documents like invoices that are stored on my desktop or template that I need to access for a invoice to a customer requesting it because they are not the owner.
Pros:
It is the best tool I can use for my business. It gives me access to my desktop from other devices so I add to an invoice open word documents and save them it has been so easy to set up also
Cons:
If your tablet is does not have the same software on it then you will have a problem opening and editing documents like excel and word not wordpad
For a more versatile workstation
Comments: Essential for IT, but flexible enough for more creative applications. A great cure for the Mac vs PC blues.
Pros:
Gives me PC access from a Mac, allowing me to run multiple processes across different machines. A great solution for when OS exclusivity slows things down.
Cons:
Clearly intended as an IT support tool, and therefore a lot more intuitive for the IT department. I'm an editor, so while I get a lot of mileage out of the software, I usually need to call in some support for connectivity issues.
Perfect Remote Connection Software
Comments: I would strongly recommended Remote Desktop Manager to any IT Team that need to centralize their asset in an easy to use solution.
Pros:
The remote connection feature is by far the most useful feature of this software. It's easy to use and maintain but also easy to build strong security around your sensitive data
Cons:
Old version of the software suffer of lack of performance but this issue is fixed since a couple of version.
