Cons:

The interface with Myob can sometimes be an issue, but the problem is more on the myob side.

Easy HR and Recruitment

Comments: Amazing support and the developments just keep coming.

Pros:

Reporting on so many aspects of HR - turnover rates, surveys, 1:1's and the way it easily interfaces with other payroll systems. The recruitment function is so easy and allows multiple people to be involved in each step of the process.

Cons:

I think the email notification settings need improvement

Good system for the price range

Comments: Good. The support teams work tirelessly to resolve all the issues we encounter with the system. I feel like a valued customer to them.

Pros:

A good system for its price range, it significantly automates processes, particularly the connection between HR and Payroll and it is very easy to use At the implementation, the implementation team greatly supported us. Following the implementation, the customer support team and customer experience team always come back promptly. I use the system every day and it reduces the process time a lot. We haven't tried to integrate with other systems yet.

Cons:

The only downside is the recruitment module, which I'm not entirely satisfied with. However, developments are progressing steadily, so there's potential for improvement. Worth a try. Some of the associates do not know the system very well and sometimes we receive odd answers.

My Super Hero

Comments: Overall, Employment Hero is a highly recommended software especially for offices with large employee number. I give it the highest rating possible as it is easy to use. I like the graphics as well.

Pros:

As and end-user, Employment Hero is a very useful tool to monitor your details like your salary, leave entitlements, tenure in the company. It’s a breeze in navigating the software as it has features that makes the software user-friendly.

Cons:

I cannot see anything that I dislike in Employment Hero. It is easy to use and it takes little effort in navigating through the software.

Good system as long as you dont need help

Comments: Great system, but woeful support, they don't want you to get in touch with them when you need help.
Very poor documentation of system which causes frustration and a lot of time wasting chasing answers that don't come easily

Pros:

Great system in terms of system design and intuitive use

Cons:

Support system is woeful, poor training and system documentation, getting support is an act in frustration and one of Employment Hero's worst features. They really make it hard for you to get in contact with them

Seamless HR & Payroll

Comments: Employment hero team are always very responsive. Whenever I have a query, it always get answered within a few minutes. The team ensures the ticket stays open until it is resolved - a feature I find very helpful when it comes to payroll processing. Kudos to the team!

Pros:

Ease of use, convenience, great user experience, helpful and knowledgeable staff

Some of user interface can be improved to ensure efficiency in navigating through the payroll platform.

Truly a Hero!

Comments: Simple and easy to use, one stop shop for all your HR and payroll requirements.

Pros:

The platform's implementation process was seamless, thanks to the detailed and easy-to-follow step-by-step guides. They covered every aspect clearly and if there was any confusion, the support team was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable during the implementation phase, promptly answering all my questions and ensuring I was never stuck

Cons:

There are some doubled up admin features between Payroll and HR. Firstly, An employee doesnt need access to both Payroll and HR platforms to view the same information. Also - when giving access to an employee to the portal it was a bit difficult to understand whether HR side needed to be used or the payroll side to effect the change. Most of the available reports are predefined, and creating custom reports needs alot of manipulation of excel sheets.

Good HRIS+ATS solution for SMEs

Comments: Good robust system but their customer/tech support could be easier to contact

Pros:

Employment Hero offers a compelling HRIS and ATS solution that balances functionality, user-friendliness, and affordability. Its intuitive interface and robust feature set streamline HR processes. The help center provides valuable resources, and the company’s pre-built templates are handy for internal communications.

Cons:

The recent shift towards chatbot support has made direct communication with customer service more complicated and lengthy, and a dedicated email for tech support is still the way to go if we are to resolve issues that Admins cannot.

Stay away from Employment hero

Pros:

Nothing, its another version of quick books but you pay more

Cons:

overpriced software for a quick book replica. Very bad customer service who did not even call me but closed the ticket. This happened twice and any questions asked they refer to videos. Negative, There is one small demo of the product. There is no trial period to check the product. There is a one year contract and you cannot leave once you sign up. There is no negotiations with the Employment Hero team since they dont respond

Annual leave always a day out

Comments: Very very attentive until you have bought it, then nothing.

Pros:

Payroll is quick and easy. It is very difficult to get hold of anyone though - logging a support call is very cumbersome as though you are encouraged never to do it.

Cons:

The support is dreadful - very difficult indeed. But the main issue is that when annual leave is booked in EH it comes over to Microsoft Outlook one day out. So if an employee books leave until 22 July, the leave is correct in EH but it comes into Outlook Calendar until 23 July. So managers have consistently wrong holiday dates for their employees.

Employment Hero was supposed to make our life easier...

Comments: Overall, the platform has decreased the amount of time we were spending on the HR & Payroll function, our biggest win was the automation of the onboarding process.We are still struggling (nearly 18 months down the track) with some of the Rule Sets in the payroll function that do not work how they need to - we are manually adjusting some payslips every week.The support team are not very supportive in the first instance. We have been left high and dry and missed the bank cutoff on our pay day on several occasions because of their lack of response - which has meant that 150+ people got paid a day late - not ideal. Once you actually get in contact with a support person, they are generally quite helpful, however, I am still waiting on a response to a support ticket that was placed over 4 months ago - seems its too hard, so they are just ignoring me. Even the Customer Success Manager has not followed it up.New features are rolled out without proper testing - for instance, the paid break feature. It seems that they are intent on creating new features that are not crucial to our business and leaving the core functionality behind.Should have gone with Elmo.

Pros:

The automation - onboarding, leave requests, timesheets, payroll.The app - mobile HR on the go.

Cons:

The implementation phase - we completed as many checks as we could, but as a manufacturing business that has hourly paid & salaried staff, with multiple shifts across 2 sites & a specific Enterprise Agreement, we could not identify every single scenario, so after we rolled it out, there we unforeseen issues that we were just left to deal with. Once the implementation team completed the implementation to their satisfaction, they wiped their hands of us and handed us over to the support team, who never answer the phone and take their time to respond to your queries.The system is not flexible - there are several feature requests that we have put through because it just doesn't work as we need it to. The reporting needs to be better - the graphs are pretty, but I would like to be able to download the data behind them - some reports you can, some you can't. The goals module may work for professional services businesses, but not for manufacturing.The payroll platform reporting also needs to be more flexible - you can only create custom reports on certain things. We need to slice & dice information and the only way to do that is to manipulate it in Excel.The integration of the HR & Payroll platforms. Leave requests & expense reimbursements do not integrate from HR to Payroll. Neither do terminated employees integrate from Payroll to HR - if you terminate someone in Payroll, you have to replicate it in HR, so double-handling.That stupid app SWAG - should never have changed it.

The no-brainer HR & Payroll option

Comments: Employment Hero is a paperless systems which is great for where our business is heading. It has both a HR and Payroll platform that integrate with each and it quite reasonably priced for the size of our business. For a business that is has never had a great HR system, this ticks all the boxes. Still learning the system being only 6 months in, but keep surprising myself with what I find and can do. I love how it is so modern compared to our old system and what's even better it works with the awards so I sure never to miss a beat with compliance again!

Pros:

What I love most about employment hero is the flexibility as the payroll admin to change the platforms to suit our business requirements. The feel and look is modern and both HR & Payroll work together. The most handy point though is the fact it can be set up on the award and another plus is also the paperless HR system which is so more time efficient and has a better track record. And we can't forget the app that work seamlessly with the platforms - this has definitely change my HR role for the better.

Cons:

Sometimes it can be hard to navigate, but I can put this down to just still in training. I can obviously reach out to support, but this is only through a ticketing system, which sometimes all you want is to pick up the phone and speak to somebody - maybe there is this option, I am not sure yet. Also the currently there are two apps operating, if this was all on the one app, I wouldn't ever not recommend employment hero - it would be the only HR & Payroll option that's for sure.

Employ a Hero

Comments: Employment Hero is such a vital software for companies to employ due to the feasibility and I also like the playful purple aesthetic of the Software. Feels sophisticated and fun at the same time.

Pros:

The interface of Employment Hero is very easy to navigate. Submitting annual leaves to the company I work in through this software is a breeze. Keeping a track of the amount of Leaves I have is very convenient. Additionally I like how it is able to detect which days are considered leave and not. Also I like the ability to see my Pay slips through Employment Hero.

Cons:

The company tried implementing employees interaction within this software, however it didn't function that well.

Not for large organisation

I liked the tracking of compliance documents.

Cons:

Most of all, not being able to talk to a human. You cannot pick up the phone, which is extremely frustrating.

Kudos to EH!

Comments: Almost excellent in both HR and Payroll system. But like any other system, there's always room for improvement.

Pros:

The way EH system is built to streamline the HR processes (i.e hiring, onboarding, payroll, etc). It helped us save a lot of time and resources.

Cons:

the leave balances. They only recount after the payroll is done. It would help if employees can view their balances right after the leaves are approved.

HR Manager review

Comments: We have had a really positive experience. For a well priced, off the shelf package it is very good. Service is not always available immediately but is always helpful and friendly. The experience continues to get better as the product constantly improves.

Pros:

Great off the shelf product for managing a small to medium size business. There is enough customisation to add the features we need and all of the basic HR functions are available. The service is great (may need to wait for a reply but very helpful and friendly).

Cons:

The Certification function is not yet perfect but I'm sure this will evolve with time. Employment Hero continue to develop and enhance the product.

I love that we have an end to end HRIS solution within Employment Hero, we can manage all aspects from Recruitment to onboarding, offboarding, asset management, recruitment, training, goal setting, performance management and compliance.

Dissapointed

Comments: Went through a lengthy sales process to get setup with an account. From there it was all downhill. Compared to our current service EH is very complicated and takes 40 days to implement. Unfortunately we're locked into a 12 month contract which we have to continue paying even though we haven't used it for a single day - gave it up 12 days into the setup process.

Pros:

The sales website is really nice and they make it look great....

Cons:

The Android app is unusable. Literally couldn't log in no matter what. Check out the reviews on the app store - lots of other users have had the same experience. Backend on the website is very complicated compared to the system we use (that we were going to move from but decided not to). Payroll and HR are advertised as a single solution when in reality there are two separate portals. It's all a bit confusing and convoluted and more expensive than our current platform. There are better platforms out there.

New Zealand Employer with not standard employee working schedules

Pros:

Pretty easy to use and some real good functionality, reporting pretty good, and thought splits between cost centers for leave pay was good.

Cons:

It does not deal well with non standard employment/employees that don't work standard work weeks/works standard hours in terms of how it calculates certain leave rates and how it processes certain leave when taken, this is purely because the system doesn't look at actual days worked or actual hours worked, but only refers to work schedules setup in the system. Second to that we paid for implementation only to realise certain pay categories were not setup correctly and did not accrue leave, it has now been almost 6 week with no real solution to this problem. Support is pretty slow.

Comments: The on boarding off staff has become so much easier compared to manually entering forms and employee information in the system. We also utilise the payroll feature and the payroll team we work with are brilliant too. A lot easier to collate items such as policies, collect employee documents and track their document expiry dates for compliance purposes much easier. Also much easier to track probation periods with the reminders.

Pros:

I like it’s easy to use, the HeroShop (now My Benefits -> Discounts) is brilliant and adds a benefit for employees, issuing employee documents and on boarding them is very simple and saves us so much time otherwise spent on manual on boarding. Leave management, timesheet management very simple and straightforward. Reporting features is great too, to find out staff insights such as headcount numbers etc. Any queries I have or issues with the system the support team is very helpful too!

Cons:

Occasionally when I email employment contracts to staff they have difficulty with finding this email in their junk mail / spam / inbox. Some are not able to find this at all. I usually have to then send the contract manually. There’s no way to resend the contract once it has sent, so perhaps a feature such as send a staff member a reminder email to sign their contract could be beneficial. Some staff have trouble uploading their certifications, perhaps by incorrectly dating or using the wrong document format (e.g. Not PDF). I think having more features on the phone app too would be great because majority of staff use employment hero on their phones only because it’s quicker and more convenient. For First or secondary managers, if they can lodge leave on behalf of their staff via the mobile app, I think that’d be a brilliant addition to the phone app.
