Comments: I love this review app. I have used others and this one is better and cheaper than those I've tried. It's so easy to set it all up and massively important for social proof.

Pros:

So easy to set up automations with Shopify so that each time a customer makes a pruchase they are automatically sent a review request after a certain period

Cons:

Can be a bit slow, and the inability to import reviews from other marketplaces and websites (i.e. Etsy, Google, Amazon, Trustpilot) automatically makes it a slow manual process - through which you can only upload product (not site) reviews.

Avoid! Their "Premium" is a Dumpster Fire.

Pros:

I did not like my experience with them. They overcharge and far underdeliver. They are all about sales.

Cons:

YOTPO was a complete disappointment and is not recommended. The birthday discount feature is a chaotic mess, causing issues with pricing, dates, and customer service. Support tickets lack basic functionality, the support portal is a security disaster, they sent me a login to a a rep, not a customer, and then just swept it under the rug. Contribution reports are unreliable. Their team even confirmed this! Their admin interfaces are a nightmare to navigate. If it was free the user interface would be terrible. For $$$$ is a joke! Too many confusing reps. A dumpster fire of code in the web reviews widget make matters worse. YOTPO's impact on site speed has been detrimental. The promised platform synergies are meh. SMS Bump is a usability disaster. Meetings with their team are a waste of time. Other platforms have proven to be far more beneficial, while YOTPO has only added frustration, complexity, and countless hours of troubleshooting. Avoid YOTPO at all costs.

Tracking Reviews Made Easy!

Comments: I've been pretty satisfied overall. Plus Yotpo has many other apps that intergrate well.

Pros:

This app is very functional for the proce. I've used some more expensive ones, but Yotpo does everything those do for less $$$. I like the simplicity of the platform and find the customer service extrememly helpful.

Cons:

I wish there was a way to custimize my reveiw emails a little more.

Comments: I'm very pleased. I'm also impressed with the staff. They've been super helpful and friendly.

Pros:

I loved the ability to keep everything all in one place. It's super user friendly (although I'm still learning every day) .

Cons:

Wish there were more options for email templates. Sometimes I don't have time to custom create a new look so if there were more options where I could just plug in my over verbiage and photos of products it would be super helpful.

Comments: It's been great for the most part.

Pros:

I like that I get notified of every review that comes in or if there is a negative review that need attention. I also like that there is a feature for a customer to select they did not receive their product if they did not receive it.

Cons:

I don't like that I don't believe there is an option for users to amend their reviews. If somebody leaves a negative review but we take care of them, it would be nice to send a follow up prompt saying something like. "It looks like the company was able to resolve your issue or concerns, would you like to amend your review?" It's very unlikely that the person will go back and write a new review since they are now no longer prompted to do a review.

Best bang for your buck!

Comments: Overall experience is excellent. Yotpo has driven much higher customer engagement and conversions.

Pros:

Yotpo beats other review services at this price point with easier integration, more customer engagement that converts to sales, and your traffic STAYS on your website!

Cons:

1) There is no 'bare bones' account option, so we are paying for many features we don't need.2) The system doesn't include multiple language support, so non-english reviews are mistakenly flagged for profanity.

Comments: Very good customer service too.

Pros:

I love the text messaging feature to notify my customers when I'm going live. I also use Yotpo to collect reviews and Yotpo makes it easy with a click of a button to directly post the review on the product.

Cons:

I would love to see more free features like personalized emails for review collection.

Comments: YotPo provides me with alot of features that helps new customers in the right direction when chosing a product to buy. With great display of former reviews and product reviews, new customers trust your business and the step to finish a purchase.

Pros:

The ability to have an easy overview of all the tools and alot of the features happens automatically. With YotPo you will have every tool inhouse and when everything is set up correctly you are provided with useful analytics and a great overview of how your customers review the business.

Cons:

There is quite a handfull of features so it's easy to get "lost" within all of them.

Comments: I have had a great experience. I think it is pretty awesome, and I am even using other apps of theirs due to this

Pros:

The best feature IMO is the use of the app for free up until the first 50 purchases.

Cons:

The least favorite was the inability to try some of the premium features, such as some of the review setup options, so some stuff I did not know if it was worth up[grading early to get.

Great Platform Overall

Comments: Overall, the platform has been pretty great. Our biggest gripe would be in the pricing. As a small business it is incredibly hard to have all of the important things (like a review platform) we need to be successful and also drive the kind of revenue we need to be sustainable. Every service costs money and it adds up quick. Most services are not small business focused as they get a lot more money from enterprise packages, which is unfortunate us little guys. Yotpo does offer growth packages, but they ramp up in price really quickly.

Pros:

Reviews are incredibly important and Yotpo is a great platform to deliver them. They offer quite a few features in the lower priced tiers and are relatively easy to use. Yotpo is a recognized name by many consumers as a trusted reviews platform, which is a great benefit. Support has always been quick and helpful. They are a Google reviews partner, which is important to us.

Cons:

The interface could be easier to navigate. The price is pretty high, but going cheaper means you may not get a platform that people know and trust.

Premium customer reviews solution

Comments: Yotpo has really let us use user-generated content to increase our conversion rates while helping us offset the cost of creating our own content, with more authentic content.

Pros:

Yotpo has an easy to use interface and has robust and well thought out features and tools for collecting user reviews and photos and displaying them on our websites to really make an impact with customers. Additionally, our account rep is super responsive and helpful with any questions or issues we run into.

Cons:

It does have a higher price tag to some of its competitors, that said, the polish within the product and reliability isn't something you find in all SAS solutions.

The best platform for collecting customer reviews

Comments: An excellent resource for reviews, questions, and weekly/monthly summaries. User-friendly and navigable. Early on, the company encountered a few issues, but they were swiftly resolved. It is beneficial to moderate online reviews and responds to meeting customers' needs. I recommend this e-commerce tool.

Pros:

We have significantly increased the number of reviews with Yotpo. We have a lot of product reviews, not only for marketing but also for the benefit of our customers. They are currently used in advertising, social media, email marketing, and other areas. Due to the large number of SKUs, it was difficult to collect reviews for products other than our most popular. The most useful feature of Yotpo is how easily it integrates with your website and provides customers with a widget to leave product reviews or ask questions. The benefit is that all reviews are available for moderation in one location. It is also useful to be able to comment directly to consumers, add tags as needed, and keep a summary of all reviews and questions. It is simple to find exactly what you are looking for, whether by product name, number of stars, email addresses, or other criteria.

Cons:

I dislike that once I schedule a campaign with a specific segmentation, the segment's subscribers are locked in, and the campaign does not automatically refresh as the segment changes. This makes sending weekend campaigns difficult because I must wait until the night before to schedule the campaign and ensure that the segmentation is up to date. This also prevents me from sending emails in my preferred time zone.

Great Review Platform - Could Be Better

Comments: Overall, Yotpo is a great reviews platform that is easy to use and manage, even across multiple brands and products, all under one account.

Pros:

In terms of functionality, Yotpo is easy to implement and use, from both a front-end and back-end perspective. It easily hosts your product's (or company's) reviews and displays them on the website is a visually aesthetic way, with customizable features.

Cons:

It would be great to implement a feature that allows the user on the customer's end to have more filter options for the reviews. There are other review platforms that have more fields to answer, therefor offering more information for the customer to browse when looking at reviews. Since referrals and reviews are one of the first things customers look at before purchasing, giving more information options (beyond name, product, and product rating) along with making filter features easy to accessible allows the customer to access more detailed information, but helps to make the conversion quicker.

Not worth

Comments: I learned an expensive lesson. Never sign an annual contract with an app before a trial run to confirm the true value of the software. At this rate, we're looking at an eternity before any sign of ROI.

Pros:

I like the overall integration into Shopify's platform and how the reviews are displayed for the user. We do receive an average amount of comments, reviews, etc.

Cons:

When we we're considering this app we were told how much new sales this app would generate because of the benefits you'd be offering the visitor for writing a review. Unfortunately, that was NOT the case. AND its not our demographic audience either, we sell to a very vocal audience of over 500,000 followers on social media.

Used to be great. Is terrible now

Comments: Terrible. They want us to pay 10-20 times more than we used to.

Pros:

It's easy to use and has all the features a small business needs to get reviews

Cons:

ITS SO EXPENSIVE. It used to be $20-30 a month. It is now hundreds of dollars per month for the same features.

Dishonesty can do damage to your business

Comments: If you want customers to trust you, I would recommend you stay away from using Yotpo.

Pros:

Yotpo does not offer any major benefits. You can invite more people to view your account, but that’s a standard feature.

Cons:

The biggest downfall of this software is that you can choose to not publish negative reviews. While that may be seen as a benefit for businesses, it removes all credibility and will damage your reputation.

YOTPO Really Works!

Comments: See Above.

Pros:

The fact that it really works as advertised. The first 6 years we were in business we gathered some 200+ reviews for various products. In the last 4 years we have gathered nearly 3500 reviews for various products and the website. The reviews are presented in a professional manner on the website and the star ratings are featured in web searches.

Cons:

I am not a web guru or coding guy. Some knowledge of these items is necessary for proper implementation of the software. I really appreciate the semi-annual checkups from the YOTPO service technicians. They are very helpful.

Great boost for small business to grow solid reputation!!!

Comments: Yotpo has given us credibility! We have 400 online reviews now and it encourages onlookers to proceed to the checkout with confidence.

Pros:

Ease of use for our customers, clean cut, great visual with the stars at the top of each review, easy to implement into our website in the places we want it seen.

Cons:

Would love if a customer wrote a review 1x, that they no longer receive emails in the future, still asking them to write another one. We only offer a discount to customers for their 1st review, so it is annoying to them to keep getting yotpo requests with orders, time after time.

Comments: We have worked with Yotpo for many years, I inherited them when I grew into my position and they made the transition very simple and easy. I appreciate that Yotpo is always looking for new ways to help customers.

Pros:

New & exciting features! Yotpo is always adding new features to make their platform more enticing. Excellent support, they are always eager to help.

Cons:

It is pricey, worth it- yes. But, it's not a small cost by any means.

Clutch for our Business

Comments: Fantastic, I appreciate the customer service and that I feel my feedback is heard and received. I had been asking for integration with MailChimp since we signed on...was SO happy to see the integration launch this year!

Pros:

Having reviews has not only helped customers trust a purchase, but it helps in advertising and SEO. Absolutely worth the investment for our start-up!

Cons:

I wish there was a keyword sort function for customers. When they go to our Reviews page we have over 1200 reviews now, it would be nice if they could search for keywords so they could find reviews applicable to their needs and questions. i.e. how is the sizing, arch support, ankle support, etc.

The best way to help improve your business.

Comments: In today's world, people HAVE to see real people, verified people, who are talking about your product. This is the easiest and best way to do it.

Pros:

Users can search by keywords that are used frequently. The widget can easily be installed into a website (I am not a tech person and did it myself). The support is super helpful and truly wants you to love the product. And overall, every retail website should be using this to help their customers make informed decisions and ask questions directly. The dashboard makes it super easy to answer those questions and help interested buyers.

Cons:

The email integration is not seamless with Hubspot.

Worth the money

Comments: We've had great feedback since using Yotpo! It's nice to hear honest reviews of or products, site, and services. Even the not-so-good reviews help us figure out how we can up our game. And it's easy to use - just set your parameters and you're on auto-pilot. And make the necessary tweaks as needed.

Pros:

Easy to use. Just set up your after purchase email text and select when the email gets triggered and Yotpo does all the rest.

Cons:

I wish there was a way for the store owner to comment on customers' answers to questions. Sometimes there are more relevant issues that can be addressed by the store owner, but you can only comment on the original question asked.

The perfect review app for scaling ecommerce businesses

Comments: At a very basic level, Yotpo has been great at getting us quality reviews. But Yotpo is much more than just a review platform because we are using it as part of our post purchase customer experience with triggered email sent to our customers a couple weeks after they have placed their order. This email is a great opportunity to keep the line of communication with the customer open and with the discount code integrations with Shopify we are able to send out incentives for reviews which not only encourages more reviews on our site, but it also encourages repeat purchase activity from these customers. This helps us build a higher average LTV because customers are incentivized to shop, review, and repeat. Yotpo has also been great for scaling our business. We started with a very basic package that was easy to integrate into our Shopify site(up and running in a day), but we have upgraded along the way and are now using a more robust offering that allows us to send dynamic coupon codes(to eliminate the chance of code abuse), add fit details to the review pages, and make the reviews searchable in google listings. These features and functionality allow us to look and function the review section of our site at a level that is comparable to much larger competitors and ecommerce companies. Overall, Yotpo is a no-brainer for your business.
