About QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks lets you manage expenses, send invoices & track inventory. Get paid faster. Get 50% off for 3 months.
Everything is easy to use, the bank integration feature is super helpful, and I can do it on any computer that has internet.
When you first start using the app it can be irritating and tricky.

QB still remains the Boss of Accounting Software Systems!
Comments: I am enjoying using the online version and look forward to all the incentives for bringing and setting up clients, like revenue share and affiliate commissions. QB still remains the easiest and most valued bookkeeping software that I will recommend. There are video tutorials for literally everything.
Pros:
I love how everything updates automatically for the client when entering as the accountant. Bank reconciliations are an absolute breeze as well when you link bank accounts.
Cons:
I miss being able to use the standard shortcuts that are available with the desktop version making things easier to keep your hands on the keyboard for faster entry. I am learning a few alternatives though as I go.

Quickbooks is good for the price
Comments: Overall my experience has been very good. Their support has helped me a couple of times and did an ok job.
Pros:
Signing up and initial configuration were simple and easy. The self help menu works well and has lots of information.
Cons:
The limited features of the lowest plan can sometimes be a hinderance but it's not too bad for the price.
If you want QuickBooks, QBO is about the only option but it's not a great one
Comments: The product does what it is asked to do but conversions are far from streamlined and the end user experience overall is not as good as it was with their desktop products. It's awesome as an accountant to be able to work on a live file at pretty much any time but you pay dearly for that convenience. Intuit's official stance is that they are phasing out their desktop products besides Enterprises (which is 200-300% more than Desktop Premier before) so if you are a new user you might never know that QBO is an inferior product. But it is compared to desktop and they have lost a lot of market share with their forced migration last year.
Pros:
QuickBooks Online's main strength is ease of use. It's built around the checkbook and it is designed to automate tasks like payroll, bill paying, and even invoicing. It is a browser based cloud software so you do not need to download software and that means it can be used anywhere in the world. Your accountant can work with you in real time without sending a copy of your information via email so it's more efficient when collaborating because it can even be opened on your mobile device.
Cons:
The cost of QBO is not competitive and the product is vastly inferior to their desktop products. If you want automated payroll it better fit neatly into their one size fits all packages. Want quarterly payroll? Not an option unless you want to handle it manually each quarter - and you better do it by the last day because there is no such thing as after the fact with automated payroll. I would estimate desktop users who switch will pay 100% more (at least) for an inferior cloud based product that is much less dynamic than desktop. Support folks are not accountants and most clearly do not use the software but rather work off a script to get you off the phone so if you need help, google is a better option that Intuit support.

I Do Not Recommend
Comments: Horrible. Seems like yet another company interested only in their bottom line. Not their customers, not their products, not their employees.
Pros:
Once you get the hang of it, it's an acceptable solution.
Cons:
The link between my bank and my QBO instance breaks every single day. Why I'm forced to click an 'Update' button instead of it automatically updating something like once an hour is crazy, too. Not intuitive. If you think you're going to be able to manage your books using QBO without any finance or business background, think again. If you are starting off with relatively little experience, expect to watch hours upon hours of tutorial videos and essentially train yourself to do the job of a finance manager, bookkeeper, or accountant. Customer service/support is beyond horrible. I scheduled to have someone call me several weeks ago. At the time that I was expecting a call, I received an email indicating that my appointment had been changed to a week later. I emailed the representative, but received no reply. At the time of that appointment, no one called me. This is after numerous emails and texts to remind me of the appointment. So, I called the main number myself and was passed around from one person to another, often ending up with the "Payments Team" who after some discussion said, "I don't know why they would've transferred you to me." I asked to speak to manager/supervisor. I was informed that I'd be on hold for a while. I asked if they could just call me at a later time and was told, "that's not how the process works." I plan to close my QuickBooks accounts and will be sure not to use any of Intuit's services moving forward.

Quick Books is Great
Comments: It's been a great experience working with QuickBooks, will be using for quite some time.
Pros:
I love that its so easy to use and has a lot of options for small businesses, I also like that I can access my account from anywhere.
Cons:
Sometimes it loses my data, so I have to backup every time I use it.
Alternatives Considered:
Quickbooks Really Has It All
Comments: Everything in one place, financially feel secure with seamless invoicing and client records.
Pros:
I like having my invoices all in one place. I do not utilize all of the add-ons, however, it seems that Quickbooks has everything a small business would need to be successful. Payroll, mileage, Payment acceptance, and end of year tax prep is all available. The customer service is always helpful!
Cons:
I didn't like the update of the online portal, but i am getting used to the new layout.
QBO review
Comments: I used QBO for many years and it made the Accounting part of the business very transparent. The dashboard was easy to see the day to day cashflow.
Pros:
It was extremely user friendly. The dashboard took the guess work out of cash flow and the reports were very easy to use.
Cons:
It is a little too user friendly. Someone without a lot of Accounting experience can go in and make changes without understanding the ramifications. Also the issues with multi currency made it harder to use.
Alternatives Considered:
Overall,does what it should do...
Pros:
Easy to use from anywhere you need to login with tons of features
Cons:
There are some regular bugs happening and the snap receipt option is lacking in terms of user management and recognition algorithms. In addition their processing fee is high for businesses with large amounts of transactions
Alternatives Considered:
It's Not The Platform, It Is The Community
Comments: I have used other platforms like Xero and KPMG Spark, but they were even more difficult to use than QuickBooks Online. Additionally, the large number of people available to provide support and additional accounting services cannot compare to the other platforms.
Pros:
It is an end-to-end platform that can help make sure every aspect of the back office aspect of your business is supported, from general bookkeeping to HR, payroll, and even benefits. Everything is in there.
Cons:
The platform is not overly intuitive for new users. Due to the amount of customization you can create, no two systems are the same, and it is very easy to make issues you do not realize until months or years later.

QuickBooks Online Review
Pros:
This soft ware is the best. It is so easy to learn and use
Cons:
It has been working greatly. I have no issues using it
Alternatives Considered:
Best I've found but not as good as desktop
Comments: I've tried several online accounting software packages. This is the best, but still is lacking in tracking employee costs to projects.
Pros:
Quickbooks is the most used small business accounting software. There are a lot of tips online.
Cons:
It is not Quickbooks Desktop. Moving from desktop to online was like moving to a new company. As a bookkeeper, I have less access to manipulate the data.
Needs improvement not a good desktop replacement
Comments: The basics work as good as the desktop version. The reporting needs major improvements. The ability to create and manage reports for projects, project location and reps is minimal to none, this needs to change. It is slow and lags, not responsive. Custom reports need major re design. Have been using online for 3 years, used desktop for 20.
Pros:
Online access available where ever you are. The basic functions are similar to the desktop version.
Cons:
Switched due to no more support for desktop version. Online has come a long way however it is still lacking compared to Desktop. It is not subcontractor friendly, it has limited reporting for projects and reps. The app is very slow and laggy. Reports are not as customizable as desktop, they are also difficult to create, and have been over complicated for users. They have forced a modern view for reports that is HORRIBLE.
Alternatives Considered:
Mostly positive, not perfect
Comments: Overall positive; it has all the functionality and tools youd want/need. Project tracking and its integration with financial statements could be streamlined (like you have to allocate payroll time to projects before runing payroll for it to allocate on the financials correctly and that information is buried to find). Wouldnt recommend payroll services, but as an accounting and data management system QBO is great. The ability to easily addd team members and accountants is great.
Pros:
Ease of sharing and integration; bank feeds are good when they work
Cons:
Customer support is questionable and relies on canned responses to most things that are google-able by the user and have already been attempted. PNC is a major bank and the bank feed connections with it suck. If you can even get it connected they frequently get disconnected. I understand its pnc's structure and security but theyre a major bank and it should be smoother. Also the payroll options are horrendous and if anything goes awry goodluck trying to get it fixed since most things are locked and not viewable or manually fixable and require support who barely know what theyre doing (especially a problem for Ohio and PA local taxes)
All in One Business Accounting and Sales in One App
Pros:
I love how it has all accounting and bookkeeping along with checking account and invoicing and point of sale options all in one program.
Cons:
I don’t like that it’s quick to freeze your account and take so dang long to unfreeze on a whim over legitimate transactions.
Alternatives Considered:
Best Software for Businesses, however not for personal finances
Comments: I had purchased multiple accounts after speaking with a representative. I did one for our business, and they had told me that I could manage our personal finances on the other one. I found that using this software to try and manage personal finances was not as great as other software out there. However for business, this is hands down the best software that I had used. I recommend this for businesses, however do not recommend them for personal finances to help build budgets and have more control.
Pros:
Quickbooks has great automation features and the ability to connect a wide range of accounts for your business.
Cons:
As a newer customer not as familiar with QuickBooks, I found that navigating at times was sometimes difficult until you learn the buttons or locations.
Alternatives Considered:
Easy Accounting with QuickBooks Online
Comments: Fantastic. We love how easy it is to set up. The integrations with our bank and credit card company are seamless. We also like how easy navigation is.
Pros:
It was easy to setup. We transferred data from an old accounting system easily.
Cons:
At times QuickBooks will change the look of the reports, invoice templates, and bill templates.
Alternatives Considered:
I wish this wasn’t the default software
Comments: It is really buggy. It skipped some of my captures from my bank accounts and it double counted some of what I was capturing without it actually being double entry. It threw off my numbers by forcing me to integrate with PayPal.
Pros:
I like that it integrates with a lot of platforms.
Cons:
It is a bloated software that is overly complicated and yet is so crucial for so many small business owners to use. It’s a system that makes it requirement practically that a small business owner has to hire a expert to set it up and manage it. This is not feasible nor is it new small business owner friendly.

Best Software For Business
Comments: My overall experience has been a positive one. It has everything I need to run a small business. It gives a sense of relief. I Do
Pros:
I really oved using QuickBooks Online. I started a small business selling my sewn goods and QuickBooks helped me with so much. It made it easy to keep an eye on the money coming in, how much I was spending on supplies. It also helped me plan for saving for taxes as well at the end of the year. I really enjoyed how it tracked inventory and made it easy to make estimates and invoices.
Cons:
Sometimes the online version would have connection issues and I would have trouble login into my account.
QBO stinks
Comments: When I used the old desktop version, I could look forward to reconciling my bank statement to the penny. All that change with the online version. With it, reconciling became such an impossible task that I only knew what was in the bank by using the bank's app. QBO would be off by thousands of dollars. They will offer you a bookkeeper to fix the mess for you for several thousand dollars, witch I don't have, or you will have to leave it with an accountant to try to figure out. Either way, you're going to pay. Tax time is a real mess. Plus never really knowing how your business is doing. It seemed like every entry is counted twice. I sat thru hours of help videos on you tube to try and figure this trainwreck out but it never made sense to me that a company that is named Intuit could be so Un intuitive. If you are a small business, I would look at other accounting software company's to work with. Once you get started with this one and you want to change to another you will have to pay for a conversion of your QBO file to something else and that NEVER goes well Trust me. Do your homework and find something else from the start.
Pros:
Remotely sending invoice to a customer and getting payment online is very enticing. The desktop version can only do that with the aid of another app. The idea of tracking milage is also a nice add on if it were accurate.
Cons:
I used QB desktop for 25 years and really found it helpful but they steered me toward the online version and things went downhill fast. They have to convert your old file to the new layout and they made a hash of my file. I had to hire local "Expert" to try to fix it at my expense. The chart of accounts was changed drastically. The time saving features didn't materialize. They only thing that was constant was the need for another expert at my expense.
A giant leap forward for Quickbooks
Comments: Back when I was young my programmer boyfriend gave me a Quickbooks disc for my computer. Now I was strait As in accounting in school but I couldn't figure the darned thing out! I gave up! So I was skeptical when Quickbooks online came out. I reluctantly tried it and boy have they come a long way! Much more user-friendly than back in the 1990s!! Night and day!!
Pros:
I love being able to see where my companies are at a glance! I can see what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong in seconds!
Cons:
For some reason, the link between Paypal and Quickbooks keeps glitching out thus making a mess of transactions going through Paypal.
Quickbooks is automated and easy
Comments: I really have enjoyed using Quickbooks Online to do our accounting tasks in a simplified manner, during our time using it and as a real estate organization, it's difficult to keep track of every expense, but with Quickbooks it has been easy to keep an eye on everything and have good analytics and reports about our performance and our income. The tools offered by Quickbooks are so intuitive and allows us to grow financially thanks to its automated features that cut a lot of the time and energy that we can spend finding more clients and engaging with them.
Pros:
Quickbooks Online is an easy-to-use platform that changes the way our finances are done. I specially like the way everything is simplified from the desktop version (which if you have already used, this one will be very easy to get used to), and having one single place to organize all of our bills and pay them right on the website is so beneficial to us because we don't have to go through other applications to do so, just by allowing Quickbooks to make this process for us we already save so much time. Another favorite feature of mine is the option to manage all our taxes inside the platform and we have been able to contact their customer support when we have any question about our taxes, which is amazing. Additionally, I love that it has so many integrations with different apps that just make everything more convenient to use because it allows us to complete our tasks efficiently and the synchronization of data goes smoothly.
Cons:
I wish it was more cost efficient, despite all the amazing features that it includes in its variety of plans, the price is still quite high and not customizable to what we actually need, I wish they added more customization features to the pricing plans so that it can be adjusted accordinly to our budget. Aside from that, sometimes there are issues loading the data when you first open the platform, this has happened quite often and it is something that bothers me but it's still a great program.
QuickBooks Online - A Product Not Maintained
Comments: In ten years with QuickBooks Online, I never had to contact their Online Support. After seeing issues with the way QuickBooks Online was performing their accounting functions, I was informed there were over 10,000 errors in the database. Maintenance of the online database in the cloud is QuickBooks responsibility, not mine. After they requested I pay for fixing of their online database, I knew I was done with this company.
Pros:
QuickBooks Online has numerous positive features and ton of automation. My HOA used QuickBooks Online for ten years.
Cons:
QuickBooks Technical Department was not able to maintain their Online Cloud Database. After seeing numerous errors in the way QuickBooks Online was performing accounting, I contacted QuickBooks Online Technical Support. They informed me their was over 10,000 errors in the database they were tasked with maintaining. Then they insisted I pay between $850 to $1,350 to fix the database they were suppose to maintain on an ongoing basis. I informed them I needed to be with a more reliable & responsible company, so I cancelled after 10 years of use and moved to another online accounting product.
Cookie cutter as it gets.
Comments: You can tell that QuickBooks is starting to integrate directly with other services which has its pros and cons. The fact that it’s prettty specific on certain integrations makes it seem more like a limiting monopoly than a truly large business asset you can’t live without. It’s pretty telling when any good accountant dreads having to work within QuickBooks to do any accounting. It’s more of a hub for people that need basic, limiting accounting, that are willing to integrate other apps that have partnered or are owned by QuickBooks. The cost you pay you would think their would be more of a CRM integration with QuickBooks or a sister product for overall business management and quoting/invoicing. However, we’re planning to totally move away because the cost has gotten insane.
Pros:
The ease of access, desktop to mobile. The loan options they have were pretty cool, and were better deals than other banks.
Cons:
Where do I start? Everything is extremely limiting and cookie cutter. It’s very expensive for not having any sort of customization of invoices or estimates. The fact you can hardly get ahold of a live person that isn’t just a call center tech is aggravating. QuickBooks needs to understand that a business presentation to a client can make or break jobs, yet it gives very limiting options to how you can present.
I have a great experience with QuickBooks
Comments: I’ve been using QuickBooks Online for my small business, and overall, it’s been a great experience. The software simplifies complex accounting tasks like invoicing, tracking expenses, and running payroll. I really appreciate how it automates many processes, saving me a lot of time. One of the features I like most is the cloud-based access—I can manage my finances from anywhere, which is a huge plus, especially when traveling or working remotely. The integration with other tools, like PayPal, has been seamless, which makes managing transactions easier. However, there is a bit of a learning curve, especially when it comes to navigating the more advanced features. It took me a while to fully utilize all the reports and data management options. That said, the customer support has been responsive and their help resources, like tutorials, are pretty helpful. The pricing is decent for what you get, but I find it can get expensive as you add users or features, such as payroll or inventory management.
Pros:
1.Easy invoicing and expense tracking 2.Cloud-based access for remote work 3.Integration with popular platforms like PayPal 4.Responsive customer support
Cons:
1.Steeper learning curve for advanced features 2.Can become pricey with add-ons
Intuitive Accounting for Small Businesses
Comments: It's a great accounting software for small businesses, it's generally very reliable and the customer service is generally excellent. I wish the payroll offering was a little more robust so that I could also use it for that, but it integrates well with my payroll software so that's a nice silver lining.
Pros:
It integrates with lots of different software making certain tasks a breeze.
Cons:
It can sometimes be glitchy and a victim of random errors that can be extremely tedious to correct.
