GraphPad is the software you need for statistics

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I have used GraphPad to calculate IC50, EC50 in fluorescence-based assays for my scientific project. I've also generated my charts, figures and reports directly to publish in peer-reviewed journals because of their quality. It's an amazing software and it allowed me to transition from Excel and Origin and only use GraphPad now. However it's a bit heavy for my laptop.

Pros:

GraphPad allows you to have one month free trial with all the features. That's an incredible advantage for people who's learning and selecting their "go-to" statistic software. It's pretty easy to import data and replicates and perform analysis over these replicates. I've tried other software before and GraphPad is way easier to use and complete. Figures are amazing and you can easily add standard deviation, which is a must to in scientific publications.

Cons:

GraphPad tutorial is good and very informative. However, IC50 calculation tutorials could be improved adding real life examples with common absorbance or fluorescence experiments. Also, dose-response curves deserve more information and details about real life examples as well. About the software specifically, I would suggest to make it lighter, or develop a light version. My computer has 8GB RAM and good processor and still takes a lot to generate charts and analysis.

The worst customer service.

3.0 2 years ago

Comments: The software is good, but I have been over charged for two license at the same time and they never refunded me. I don't recommend anyone to get involve with graphpad licensing. Don't go for it except your company purchase the license because if they charge you extra, there is not even a phone number to call to solve the issue. You have to wait for weeks to hear back from them, when you are money is actually gone.

Pros:

Its user friendly but it does what other software do.

Cons:

The software is good but it is over price and has the worst customer service ever without even a phone number to call in case of problem.

Makes everyone a statistician

5.0 last year

Comments: Absolutely great. the figures are really nice, very good explanations, can't comaplin about almost anything!

Pros:

AS a researcher who really does not like statistics, even I have started to understand and can use all the things I need in just a few clicks. Also the tutorials are amazing, if once you really are stuck and dont know how to analyze. overall just really the tool that you NEED!!!!

Cons:

I think sometimes its hard to place e.g the legend on the same place in multiple graphs so that they all align when making a figure.

Data Analysis Tool with High-Quality Graphing Capabilities

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: GraphPad Prism is a powerful and user-friendly software that can be a valuable tool for scientists and researchers. However, its high cost and limited customization options may make it less suitable for some users.

Pros:

Its ability to create high-quality and customizable graphs, which can be easily exported for use in publications and presentations. Also, it's easy to import and analyze data from a variety of sources, including Excel and other spreadsheet programs. It also has a wide range of built-in statistical tests, making it easy to perform complex analyses without the need for programming.

Cons:

The software can be quite expensive, especially for individual users.

Most accessible and versatile statistical analysis and graphing software

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Overall, I have been using GraphPad for over 8 years and will continue to do so because of the reasons detailed above. At this point, I think it is far beyond its competitors in terms of balancing the user experience with the statistical power of the software.

Pros:

I love GraphPad Prism software and keep going back to it even when licenses to competing softwares have been purchased by my institution because it has flexible formatting, many common statistical analyses, and most of all because it is easy to use and to learn. My students/mentees have struggled over and over with competing softwares and then when they come to GraphPad they have no problems.

Cons:

Occasionally, I will encounter a type of analysis that is unavailable in Prism and requires me to use a more sophisticated analysis software (such as packages in R).

One of best software for science

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: One of best software for science
The first choice for the analysis of experimental results

Pros:

The recent version of PRISM has set up a lot of notes to help us choose the correct statistical method. For beginners, this is very important. Secondly, prism can produce very beautiful results, which makes the experiment not boring. Regarding the price, most students and employees can try this software for free. Although we are not sure about the price agreed between companies or universities, this software is undoubtedly our first choice for students.

Cons:

Prism under windows system often shocks or crashes. Although I think it may be a problem with the windows system, it undoubtedly affects the software experience

Prisim is the go-to for data analysis

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Over the numerous years I have been using this software, it has met my needs with every different scenario I have thrown at it. It continues to be our go-to analysis software.

Pros:

Not knowing a ton about statistics, I really like the support Prism offers for explaining how and when to use certain statistical analyses. If you have questions beyond the information that is presented in the stats wizard, the program links you directly to a manual full of information RE the stat you are looking into.

Cons:

There is not I find I dislike about this program. I haven't tried all of the statistics yet though.

GraphPad Prism makes graphing systematic

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: GraphPad Prism is a critical asset for our team. This allows us to quickly analyse, plot and visualise data. No wonder this software has a strong following in the life science research community.

Pros:

GraphPad Prism is a staple in biology research labs. The software is crafted keeping in mind the different types of assays biology researchers conduct. This makes the learn curve for new (and existing) users much easier. The software allows you to plot data, visualise them and run statistical tests.

Cons:

Graphpad Prism could allow a bit more customisation when it comes to fitting functions. While the software has a wide array of plots available, the graphics could improve a bit.

Easy to use statistics software

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

This software makes it easy to organize, plot and analyze small- to medium-sized datasets. Instructions for choosing appropriate statistical tests for the data are pretty clear, especially with schematics to show which comparisons are being made. It's also easy to customize graphs and make them look consistent with each other.

Cons:

I wish there were easier ways to include statistical comparisons on the graphs themselves. Something as simple as having significance brackets automatically align with two bars on a graph, for example, would improve usability.

Best App for Scientific data analysis

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: It offers the best graphical representation, which are easy to interpret and are visually appealing.

Pros:

Best for analyzing and presenting data in graphs. Offers a platform to conduct both linear and non-linear regression and correlation analysis. It also accepts data copied from other spreadsheets and open source format.

Cons:

It is somehow expensive, though the services it offers is worth the amount. It is also not so effective when analysing qualitative data.

Perfect for stats and publication-ready figures

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: I use this program weekly. It is an essential program for any research lab.

Pros:

The ease of putting all my data for a project into one central file. Unlike Excel, Graphpad allows the user to add many data tables to a single file and generate statistical analysis AND publication-quality graphs. This has saved me countless hours in getting ready to publish manuscripts.

Cons:

Some statistics aren’t always as intuitive and it can be hard to find the right information to get help.

A user friendly tool for research publications

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: It has been amazing-quality graphs, user friendly and best tool I would recommend for data visualizations.

Pros:

I like the ease of use: I was able to learn the tool in a day and now as I am doing new skills, I am learning it day by day. Besides, its really easy to learn it from youtube videos.

Cons:

The graph to data linkages can sometimes be very confusing. At times, it just opens a new window and I am into a whole new file.

Excellent statistical analysis and data visualization capabilities

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Prism is a must-have for any scientific data analysis, most importantly for determining significance between an experimental and control group. I've enjoyed using the software and will continue to do so.

Pros:

Prism offers some incredibly useful statistical options, especially for scientific applications such as animal behavior data analysis. In particular, the excel-like data input makes importing bulk data simple. It's also extremely quick to process data, so for mass data analysis, Prism is definitely my go-to.

Cons:

It can take several hours of training and practice before learning even the basic features, and it's especially difficult without the help of someone who is well-versed in the program's features.
