About Microsoft Forms
A cloud-based data collection application that helps organizations collect feedback information in real-time through forms and surveys.
MS Forms is easy to pick up and use by any user and will suffice for most use-cases. Included in most MS 365 subscriptions.
However apart from the tremendous efforts and features the software has limited integrations with other third-party applications, which may limit its functionality.

The professional version of Google Forms, but not a fully featured offering
Comments: We use Forms occasionally, mostly for internal questionnaires but also for application forms. Aesthetically, it's a slight step up from Google Forms.
Pros:
Forms integrates tightly with the Office suite as one would expect. Exporting results or feeding them live to an Excel document works well.
Cons:
Forms conditional logic is a little different than what many form builders have. In general, there is little control over the layout of the form, and question types are limited.
Good option to collect user input, post-event surveys etc.
Comments: Overall, the MS Forms are a reliable way to collect answers from users, as they provide with a good mix of features and ease of use. If you want a bit of extra, like I often do, it might be a bit tricky to set all the things and be sure that it is shown to the users in the exact way you wanted, but it is managable. If you do not need some extra features this is a great option, especially if your organization uses 365 so all your data is within the same system.
Pros:
MS Forms are really easy to set up, and you not only get an excel file with the individual results, but get the overview of the answers with charts and you can see the data real time in a nicely presented view.
Cons:
Like all MS products, sometimes it might be a bit of a hassle to set up sharing with the right set of privileges, adapt the look and feel, but it is managable.
Microsoft Form Review
Pros:
that it is possible to make it anonymous
Cons:
That I cannot customize it like i want and some file types are not allowed
One of the Best Survey Apps
Comments: Great experience using this software. Would recommend to any large company if they are looking for a quiz/survey app.
Pros:
I liked the possibilities you have with this software. They truly are endless. Whatever review or survey you can think of making, you can conjure it up with Microsoft Forms. Great for businesses and taking note especially finding interest levels of employees, etc.
Cons:
Some of the features can be a little tricky to use. There are also many options and tools that can be a little daunting or overwhelming at first, but after using it for a while you will get the hang of it.
A great tool for building simple and complex surveys
Comments: Overall my experience has been highly positive. Over the years I've used a number of different survey platforms and I would confidently state that MS forms has been my favourite!
Pros:
It's an effective and powerful tool for building both simple and more complex surveys. I love that MS Forms is a really easy product to learn how to use, and I find the UI simple and intuitive to use when designing surveys. The product also enables the creation of more complex surveys. For example, the option to branch respondents off in different directions based on the answers they provide is so valuable for me in my role as a researcher! It's also all helpfully integrated into the Microsoft 365 platform, meaning that no extra subscription is needed (this is a big benefit over competitors like SurveyMonkey!).
Cons:
One thing which is a drawback for me is the fact that it is not possible to see the URL of the page the respondent was on when they filled out the survey. In some scenarios this doesn't matter, but depending on the purpose of the survey this can be important info to capture.
Simple but great tool
Comments: Microsoft forms provide an easy way to create surveys, RSVPs, or sign-up. While the options for design are limited the ease of use and instant publication make it convenient and simple to use.
Pros:
Easy to create a form for RSVPs, surveys, and to customize.
Cons:
There are limited options for layouts and custom designs.
Very Attractive Forms
Comments: It has been really a positive experience using Microsoft Forms. It is easy to use and deploy as well and the attractive forms is a plus point.
Pros:
It is easy to use to make forms as well as polls for our Patrons. It also is easily accessible as it comes bundled with Microsoft 365. I also like it for the availability of various templates which make the forms look attractive.
Cons:
There are no any cons that I have encountered apart from a humble request to add more customization options.
Great for Sign-Out Sheets!
Comments: My overall experience with Microsoft Forms has been positive. Its friendly interface makes it easy for users to create anything they want. From creating a pole to a sign-out sheet, Microsoft Forms offers users everything they need.
Pros:
Microsoft Forms is a great product for multiple purposes. As a teacher, I use Microsoft Forms all the time. The first thing I used the software for was to create a sign-in and out of the classroom form. I was able to print off a QR code for students to scan when leaving the classroom. Administration requires us to turn in a sheet that shows which students left the classroom at the end of the week. Microsoft Forms made this task so much easier. All I had to do was print off the responses and submit them. One of the most impressive aspects of Microsoft Forms is its real-time collaboration and sharing options. It integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft 365 apps like Excel and Teams, enabling easy data analysis and sharing.
Cons:
Microsoft Forms does have its limitations. It lacks customization options compared to other forms software. This could be a plus for some but a con for others.
Has limitations but still gets the job done
Comments: Microsoft Forms makes the process of gathering data online through surveys , a lot easier for I and my team.
Pros:
Password protection for survey forms is top on the list of what I have been most impressed with on Microsoft Forms. Setting password protection for survey forms , helps to greatly reduce unauthorized third party access to my surveys.
Cons:
Microsoft Forms lacks a mobile app, and real time group collaboration provisions for survey creation is absent. These are key limitations that have greatly affected the efficiency of my team when creating surveys using Microsoft Forms.
My preferred way to collect data.
Pros:
Microsoft Forms provides diverse themes and templates, which affords me the freedom to customize my survey forms to fit my preferences. There is also the option to create my own themes from scratch ,that fit what into what I am looking to achieve with my surveys.
Cons:
Microsoft Forms doesn't make provisions for a mobile app, that would afford me the opportunity to create, edit and modify my surveys on the go, from the comfort of my mobile phone.
Alternatives Considered:
Does what you expect but why is there still no e-signatures?
Pros:
Useful for us when the scope of the people required to fill out the forms are within the organisation, but beyond that we tend to avoid it. It's good to see that anyone can pick it up and build out a form fairly quickly. The analytics on the data received is concise enough to give you what you need. We also use it alongside Power Automate for it to feed into other processes where an additional approval step is required and it's easy to track alongside Power Automate to ensure the flow is working.
Cons:
It can be really troublesome with handing ownership of the form if the person that has created it under their own microsoft account has exited the business. Typically, we have to push it to a 365 group so that other people can access it and manage it. In addition, it still does not have e-signatures to this day resulting in us having to implement JotForm for specific forms that require signatures.
Microsoft Forms User in Higher Education
Comments: I use Microsoft Forms with Power Automate to streamline several processes for internal and external stakeholders. It is a powerful asset when used in unison with other Microsoft tools.
Pros:
I like how easy it is to create and deploy forms using the platform. Microsoft Forms excels when it is combined with other features in the Microsoft environment as other platforms offer more customization and branded templates.
Cons:
I don't like how limited the ability to customize the look of Microsoft Forms is. I truly think other platforms have a better look for respondents, but it does what it needs to do.
MS Forms review
Comments: Positive as can quickly gain opinions from a wide audience on a topic
Pros:
Quick and easy to set up form/questionaire which can be shared around the team.
Cons:
Sometimes find the online portal for the forms can be difficult to find responses to forms.
EASY TO USE APP
Comments: So I always use this app at varsity because with RSVP and surveys they use this app a lot, I had a challenge with uploading a document recently.
Pros:
what I like about the app is that its good to get feedback , I its good for RSVP for a meeting on teams.
Cons:
On certain phones if you have to upload a file it wont work and you have to use a laptop.
A versatile and user-friendly tool for creating surveys, quizzes, and forms
Pros:
One of the standout features of Microsoft Forms is its intuitive interface, which makes creating and customizing forms a breeze A wide range of question types available, including multiple choice, text and rating scales Its integration with other Microsoft 365 applications
Cons:
Due to it being a cloud-based service, accessing forms and collecting responses cannot be done offline
Great Form Maker
Comments: Microsoft Forms is a useful software that our company relies on extensively.
Pros:
It has a streamlined interface that makes it easy to create forms and share them via email, and view them online.
Cons:
You have limited customization options for forms, as they are designed to be simple and easy to use.
Microsoft Forms
Comments: Microsoft Forms is easy to use and data is exported very easily without any problems or complicated export steps.
Pros:
They came as a bonus on the Office pack and used them regularly. It is easy to use and creating something does not take too much time. It isnice that the fields are customizable and the user interface is friendly. Another thing I really like is that the results are very easy to export.
Cons:
It is not perfect but there are no cons worth mentioning here.
Quick and Very easy to use Forms
Pros:
Very easy to use forms to collect information.
Cons:
Could have options to add files to download or section where users can add files to attach to the form.
Good to use for short and simple surveys
Comments: For my short term accessibility and polling within short distribution list, I find it great to use
Pros:
It’s easy to use and implement when to do short distribution of survey or to do polling with the basic features available.
Cons:
It’s a hassle when to be used widely, also it’s very basic to play around in looks and all.
Conduct a Propper survey with Microsoft Forms
Comments: Microsoft Forms creates the environment to conduct a Propper survey.
Pros:
Customization of fields and forms and analytical tools are the most impactful features of this application. Security of collected data is a high concern in surveying and Microsoft Forms ensures the security of my data. there have been no issues till now regarding the security of data. Its ability to integrate with other Microsoft applications is an additional advantage when working as a planning engineer. Exporting data of respondents in different file formats, especially to Microsoft Excel is a valuable feature.
Cons:
I would recommend having a feature that can create a form depending on how the respondent answers the previous questions. Although it integrates with Microsoft products, it is difficult to integrate with other applications.
Microsoft Forms is a nice addition to O365
Pros:
Ease of use. Can quickly build a form within minutes. Everything you would expect from a Microsoft product.
Cons:
Lack of customisation options. Would be nice to have built in domain URLs. Missing a tag option to easily find forms in the back end.
Great product, highly recommend.
Comments: Easy to use and navigate, end users need no training to use this. Accessible by all. It's secure and trustworthy.
Pros:
Easy to use. You can customise and personalise the forms with themes, colours and logos. It allows for feedback to be instantly received.
Cons:
There seems to be some limitations to the question types that can be used. Feels a little basic too at times. The customisations seem limited.
microsoft forms review
Pros:
Microsoft forms is user friendly. It offers a wide variety of features that help companies to be efficient in their daily task. I love how you can download file in excel format so you can do your reports much easier.
Cons:
None at all. It is an amazing tool to use.
Alternatives Considered:
So much better than alternatives
Comments: Really good within our organisation to get the information we need in an easy and well laid out format which can be extracted to Excel. We use this for work-related tasks but also the management of social activities as everyone can quickly answer a form.
Pros:
Easy to use which is good as it is a critical part of the business.Good data is extractable from forms which makes it quicker and easier to analyse/report on.Links can be shortened to easily share with others.
Cons:
There should be an app rather than just a web-based product, this would make it easier to find, therefore less time on making forms
Good if your workflow is all microsoft
Comments: Straight forward and easy to use, love how it integrates with other microsoft products like excel
Pros:
Synergizes with other microsoft products
Cons:
Doesn't really synergize with non microsoft options
